Your qual results say "invalid, discontinuity, interpolated crossing" on both laps which means u got connection problems.
Short breakups of the internet connection can also invalidate a lap. Happened to me many times.
+Dávid Kertész Its true, on local servers you get less off tracks. The more ping, the more iRacing gives you off tracks for even venturing near the side of the circuit. I still don't really agree with how harsh the 1x no lap qualification rules are, no international series are that strict.
I swear. The day I see Matt Orr in my race. I'm wiping the whole field on lap 1.
And then you will be in the carnage report to expose your stupidity to several thousand people. Fair trade.

I Just love watching. I might get in to iRacing but I enjoy your content so much I can wait a little lol. Calms me down I guess, and I love racing in real life. Like street racing. I feel like you have to be a racer or raised on it to really like it. Kinda like baseball, all my friends say it sucks to watch but if you have player it's better and even better if your playing now. So I guess it's kinda the same. 1plus sub! God bless!

I just watched True Racer's version of the first and said I was hopeful about part 2. Clearly I was wrong. still a fun watch. One day you all will hook up, and I will probably miss it somehow.

I'll fully accept fault for missing my braking zone, that's on me. The other guy (don't know if naming and shaming is enforced here) was being a pain for pretty much the whole race, diving into people and many were complaining about his lack of etiquette. And he does and effectively ends 3 races in one move. (4 if you count Matt's wreck)

I love watching rage quitters, that guy early on in the race was all over the place.
This happened to me at the Nordscheife last season where my flying lap didn't count despite not having any incidents. It was really annoying.
Matt, I'm think'n it was a Good Thing that you did start back in 20th place as the wreck on the hill was exactly like your last race with True Racer. huh? lol.

I've noticed many times that my qual-laps doesn't count for no reason just like this. Even without incidents during the out-lap. I thought it was my network-connection breaking for a split second at one point during each lap which resulted in a sort of "broken" lap. It's the same thing in races and practises.Not always, but sometimes.
Hey Matt, when someone like Leonardo is defending hard out like he was (starting at 4:35) how do you deal with it? Especially after his first move when he pretty much forced you off-track then kept cutting back in front of you, I'd get really annoyed with him, and wouldn't really know how to get past. How did you manage it?
Not so much in this case - but knowing that the guy who defends like a madman on lap 4 is the same guy who likely doesn't race "tactically" at all. He'll go for every inch, and that is bait. If you stay calm but keep the pressure on he'll likely become preoccupied against defending and make a mistake. But in this case not so much, as I knew I was faster and the slipstream is great for leap frogging.
Also, those guys are great to use the old Mansell dummy move on! Look inside knowing full well he's going inside to cover, only to go outside.

Your laptimes can be invalidated if you have connection problems, because think that your exact position, speed and other parameters are sent to the server a lot of times in a second. If you don't do this for example in 1 second, they have to interpolate your position to guess what is going to be sent to other drivers. Exceeding the response time can be exploited to try to cheat laptimes, so the server invalidates your lap.
If your connection is playing up it will sometimes invalidate your laps, it happened for me at Spa too didn't get an off track but my lap for qualifying didn't count. That could have been the cause for you too
I had a similar issue in a sprint series race at sebring, my first lap I definitely had a 1x, because I ran wide in the second to last turn, but then next lap was aboslutely fine, good enough for 8th, no incident points, yet it didn't count, so I had to start in an even worse position than what you did here, think it was like 24th out of 26 cars or something.
I have had it not count my qually laps twice now. Once in a league race and once in GTC at the Nordschleife in the jetta. Not even a 0x. Finished the sessions with 0 inc on the results page. Just a bug, but at least it's rare.

Your quali lap details show "Invalid, discontinuity, *interpolated crossing*" for lap 1 and "Invalid, discontinuity" for lap 2 - This means you got a lag spike/packetloss/whatever at the moment you crossed the start/finish line between the two laps, so the sim had no reliable timing info for *either* lap. It sucks, but it does happen occasionally.
I thought that iracing offtrack was if more than 2 tyres were out of the white lines/tarmac. iRacing seems to be inconsistent I noticed in the previous video how you got a 1x for being on the rumble strips in the rumble strips before the blanchimont straight, but in Pouhon you can have all 4 wheels off the tarmac. So it might be there as you seem to pass it 31:11. But I don't know.
How it's been explained before is that if you were to imagine a line being drawn diagonally from the left front tyre to the right rear, and another from the right front and left rear tyres, the point where those lines cross would be the centrepoint for the car. if that centrepoint crosses iRacing's set track limits, then a 1x will be registered. however spa seems to be weird with the track limitations in iRacing

Are you manually blipping on downshifts? I hear so many more clicks for downshifts then actual downshifts. I haven't gotten to these cars yet. I just started iracing a few weeks ago so I'm just curious.

I remember that when I raced with a bad connection, many years ago, sometimes lag would invalidate my laps. I wonder if you had a bad internet day and this happened to you.
Just a thought. When you came out the pit (quali) you went over the line. Could that be the cause?
Hi Matt. You should start to uploading all your videos in 60 fps format cause 30 fps is not immersive enough. I'm sure that rest of the guys would appreciate that as well. Maybe you could consider to start using Dxtory or Fraps or some other video capturing software for higher and smoother video quality and to avoid dropping the frames as Bandicam does. I could pay for that software if you would not willing to do so just let me know please.

right there, that's when it happened. I know this because I had this happen in the F1 games. Monaco is really bad with it, even if what you did didn't benefit you at all and slowed you down.
It's a bug. I had the same issue with the same car/track combo when I ran qualy - zero 1x (or 0x) and neither lap counted. My guess is it's come in since the new build as I've not seen it before.
1st lap cut La Source, 2nd all 4 off at Stavelot. Made a fun race though.

+Empty Box I know nothing of IRacing other than watching your vids, Im an AC man myself (ie less skilled!). Official F1 rules refer to white lines defining track limits not kerbs - www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2015/10/14/new-rules-on-track-limits-for-2016-revealed/ - but sounds like IRacing uses a different ruleset. If you're right, its the first game Ive seen that uses some sort of central stewarding (where lag would be an issue) rather than what happened on your PC.

iRacing defines their own track limits, they claim "as defined by the track themselves" rather than any real world series.
And yes, iRacing has it's own automated system that keeps tracks of incidents of any kind - it is pretty much what makes iRacing, iRacing.
What happened here to DQ my times (as obviously they require you to be on the track to log a time so you can't cheat) is the server for one reason or another just didn't get my car position updates so to the server I appeared on spot, then the next time I was "magically" 3 corners up the road.
Oh they are actuallly racing, not crashing into my ass at the first corner... smh

I say that this is a glitch in iracing because i have had this happen to me and it went on for like 5 races where it did not put a qually time in. I contacted iracing and they never wrote back.
Not knowing anything about setting up the FR2.0, shouldn't that 7th gear be longer? (or was it as long as it got?) Saw it reaching limit on Kemmel (with aero help) and on Blanchimont by itself, so that's why I'm asking.
Also: FR2.0 or Star Mazda?

+Drovek Sterling It's too long, you lose time getting up to that speed for only a relatively minor speed advantage. FR2.0 IMO. Looks better, sounds better, very popular, not a car that is going to be retired IRL in a year and perhaps the same in iRacing.

Box you watch Melbourne? It was a good race. Qualifying was horrid.
+Ducksauce Yes. Qualifying was stupid and we all could see how it was going to go down, textbook case of "if it ain't broken don't fix it".
Vettel's start was MEGA. Not a Vettel / Ferrari fan, but such a shame they pissed away a strong chance to sneak a victory. Going to be interesting to see if the Ferrari continues to have an advantage on the starts though - remember Renault in the late V10 / early V8 days used a strong starting car to their advantage several times.
Shame the Alonso / Gutierrez accident happened, especially given Alonso could have perhaps scored points in the McHonda.
Great battle midpack... Max is exciting to watch for sure, but he needs to learn to cool it a bit. Sainz / Verstappen may end up being more exciting this year than Rosberg / Hamilton - one of those 4 will have a mental breakdown for sure this year. LOL
So why does iRacing not just use the actual rules in like... all of racing that says that the white line is the track limit and you gotta have 2 tires inside them at all times?

Empty Box Well enforcement is just a complex puzzle involving the one thing that we don't get in iRacing - human judgment. Or in the case of TUSCC last year at Austin an embarrassing lack of resources.
With the rules I guess my point is there's usually a consistency to the pattern of it with the exceptions being the result of some drivers meeting no virtual sim racer wants to deal with.
To me half the body outside of the edge of the curb seems so weird as a measure. I'm much more readily able to think "where are my tires" than "where is the centerline of my vehicle in relation to an arbitrary point on the ground that's not clearly demarcated".
You may have your laps invalidated if your internet goes creazy (latency bar turns red for a certain amount of time), I had it a couple of times bcz my internet sucks. But I doubt you had that considering you are in USA.
I'm not sure but looks like MAYBE @ 30:33 even in 2018 it's still a problem at SPA
Joshua Pendley rewatched that in .25 speed, connection issues might have caused the game to register his car over 5% over but from our view here it’s clear he’s still on the track

+Kirschengulasch I would say no, not really. More of a combination of a new car, relatively easy to drive new car that doesn't tend to spaz out like some cars in iRacing, appealing car to a wide base and a great fit for one of the most popular tracks in Spa.
I think it will be hugely popular over the season, but it's not going to stay as it is where almost all of the races have multiple splits.

Pause for small rant....., people forget, that on the other side of going real fast is a fast crash. More over and although this is a sim in reality there are what's known as good or bad driving habits having situational awareness is the same as "safe is fast". Completely throwing out all real world concerns like the laws of physics i.e. tire punctures, suspension failure other diver errors. Sheer risk alone Don't pay off too good.

@@dsedean Because these people are often so paranoid of racing itself for fear of incidents. They get into a crash and view the SR hit as the problem, not the fact the car is bent up and they are well behind now.
Did a bit of research in your results.Your qualy laps show "discontinuity""interpolated crossing" which is iracing speak for "unstable connection".I've had this invalidate my laps in practice and races before.
