Ryan’s description of appreciating the small moments has hints of the Japanese concept of ‘wabi sabi’ - appreciating the beauty in imperfection and the transience of life. Small moments count and Ryan is master of finding and expressing these in his songwriting 🥀
Tom Power: you are such a fine interviewer.. so many 'think' they can interview but they can't. you are exceptional.. thank you for your attention to detail, your humility and your talent.
Odds are this amazing human being, just being human and enjoying a beautifully lengthy kiss with humanity has got his life as he knows, somewhat perfectly worked out. When Interviews are taking place, I get it in my head to say to an interviewer..."Dude...just let Ryan take the riegns and go for a ride with Ryan...and see which magical path Ryan Adams takes you to".
I’ve always struggled with what Ryan talks about here. With seeing the tiny moments in life and seeing them as far more important than making money or being promoted etc. Seeing beauty in the things others miss. I’ve been made to feel guilty for it in past relationships. Well, not from now on.
A very gentle interview - and superbly orchestrated by a thoughtful interviewer (maybe typical Canadian) full of space for DRA to express his over-awareness - typical introverted-extrovert. Ryan and interviewer come over very well. Cool.
Oh yeah it was so good :) I took some great pics. Posted one on his reddit! First time seeing Ryan Adams and I will definitely catch him every time he is in my town now.
Very interesting. Here we see a human being talking about trying to remain creative in a relationship when your partner might feel threatened by your need to remain creative? This is life, is it not.
Ryan is quite a present guy a lot of the time it seems, good to see... it must surely inform his writing... a lesson there... his perspective reminds of this beautiful song from Trinity Roots in NZ... ua-cam.com/video/P7Hr6fl7zoI/v-deo.html
Enjoy his music but he’s really hypocritical. Says I don’t want to get political then a few minutes later called the president a clown monster. I honestly don’t know if he realized what he is saying. It’s hard to follow his incoherent ramblings here.

He so beautifully and honestly, describes what having the mind of an artist is like.

gratitude is the attitude... Nailed it.

Tom Power is an exceptional interviewer ❤️
Aw shucks! He's also a nice guy and a sharp dresser! Cheers!
yeah well i think he's dogshit
q on cbc What a dream job man.
Aww, I love Ryan...I've never heard anyone talk about how they experience life in the same way that I do.
Awesome interview, Ryan is clearly relaxed and willing to open up.
I always look forward to RA's appearances on Studio Q. Very good interviews. Thank you Tom and Ryan!
You're most welcome. Y'all come back now, hear?
For sure! When there's a new RA album, I keep an eye out for a Studio Q interview to follow :)
Ryan is a very cool dude.
That was so excellent, thank you. He's a favorite. :)
G.r.e.a.t. interview. Ryan is not the easiest guy to interview but Tom is clearly skillful as can be. 👍
He's talking about how he would rather observe beauty and practice empathy instead of being at war socially
Yeh, I guess there are leaders and dreamers.
Great Interview! I like how he looks when he's trying to put his thoughts into words. Great guy.
`watching the chain of looks' DRA is so likeable!

Damn, this was deep. I'm gonna go think about "slow moments" now. Good interview!
Cheers! Your homework assignment is to watch someone make tea by a window in the morning.
Ryan understands this life is temporary and there's something on the other side.
genius, love him, great soul

Great interview Tom Power.
We'll relay the message!
This man is serious evolved. Beautiful.
Great job -- was blown away by the 22 minute and on stuff -- have never heard Ryan be that open about himself before. Thanks
Cheers! Thanks for watching and glad it worked for you.
Great interviewer
I can not wait to see this man at ACL this fall!
Rebecca Gossel its tonight right? Have fun! Saw him last night in Tulsa - helluva a show!
Oh yeah it was so good :) I took some great pics. Posted one on his reddit! First time seeing Ryan Adams and I will definitely catch him every time he is in my town now.
Ryan's experiencing Buddhism 101: Mindfulness = Insight.
He recorded 70 tracks for Prisoner!!????? There have been maybe 30 released to the public that I know of...
Such a good interview. I could listen to him talk all day!!
Btw - Guns n Roses are playing Hyde Park London in June 👀🌟
Great interview and loved the album!
Cheers! We can only take credit for the interview though... What's your favourite track?
Beautiful interview dude - great job. JC / England
Finally. Thanks for posting : )
Cheers! You're welcome and thanks for your patience! Hope you like it!
It was fantastic. I really enjoyed the questions and the back and forth convo. Loved it. : )
Let’s face it. Needy women drain every ounce of energy you have. I dealt with it for 25 years. I left it and this horizon opened the light on me.
Great job, guys!
Wow this is a pretty great interview!
Wow thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
this was a very cool deep interview! Awesome job!
Cheers! Thanks for watching. A generous guest and a prepared host go a long way.
The eye contact between them seems awkward 🤨
Great interview tho✨✨
Lotta soul here.
When was this recorded? Love your interviews ;-)
Thanks so much! It was recorded on May 9th of 2017.
I CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE MARRIAGE AND LESS SONG THING, MYSELF 😞
Ryan should write a song called WHAT THE F*CK AM I DOING IN THIS STUPID JOB ANYWAY?
Who the hell couldn't relate to that?
This man IS creation.
YOU are creation as well.
Good interview. Very funny too.
Cheers! Thanks for watching!

You guys do amazing interviews with these artists.
Cheers! Thanks for the feedback and for checking out our work!
The Noel Gallagher interview is great too!
He's a great guest to have in, too. He's what we'd call a generous interviewee.
I look forward to the day you have his brother Liam in the hot-seat.
Why did you guys edit out the word "alcoholic?"
For the record, we have no problem with either alcoholic, the word; or alcoholic, a person.
Although he also said A$$hole just before the two that were blanked out which stayed in... guess it slipped through the net. ;)
q on cbc well that’s not what I heard!
Ryan Adams and Minnie Driver would have great muscular jaw bones!
This feels like an interrogation.
he just seems like, well, just like your average guy!
Ryan is quite a present guy a lot of the time it seems, good to see... it must surely inform his writing... a lesson there... his perspective reminds of this beautiful song from Trinity Roots in NZ... ua-cam.com/video/P7Hr6fl7zoI/v-deo.html
Does anyone know (presumably) the artist he mentions? Sounds like Gimon Palpauld (probably butchering it) thanks
Conor Logan his grandparents :). G mom and papaw.
Enjoy his music but he’s really hypocritical. Says I don’t want to get political then a few minutes later called the president a clown monster. I honestly don’t know if he realized what he is saying. It’s hard to follow his incoherent ramblings here.
He seems a bit lost.
Aren't we all? If you say you are not, you are only fooling yourself.
Well, judging by his actions of late, maybe more than usual.
