Hey everyone, if we could avoid spoilers for those who haven’t seen beyond these 2 episodes that would be great. Or clearly mark them so everyone knows in advance x
Agatha All Along is probably my favorite of the MCU-adjacent Disney+ shows, and part of that is how much information about witches and witchcraft it got right. I've only been studying and practicing for a few years, but it was nice to see the things I've learned being used well in the series. Not to mention the whole story is so, so compelling, and the premise of all these strong women (and Teen) going on this journey of self-discovery together is really empowering. And the Witches' Road song is gorgeous in every iteration.
I don't think this is a spoiler, but the Ballad of the Witch's Road could been seen as a tarot reference: The Major Arcana in tarot is often referred to as the Fool's Journey, with every card representing a lesson the Fool must learn in order to become a fully actualized being. Some tarot decks take this a bit literally, such as the Dark Wood Tarot, which shows it's protagonist the Shadow Witch entering a dark forest and experiencing many lessons there. As an avid tarot reader, I can't help but imagine the Fool's Journey and the imagery associated with it whenever I hear the song.
I knew I would like the show when it was announced - I mean, Patti LuPone AND witches???? It only needed to not be bad and I would like it, but did they blow me away. Such good writing, character development, and music - the ballad(s) live rent-free in my mind, and the "sacred chant" version makes me want to run to the woods and light a fire whilst singing down, down, down the road. Terrific show altogether.
I absolutely LOVE these kinda of breakdown videos cuz so much of what goes into these shows does draw from real world magickal practice, Ive actually started to think that the more they do, the more successful these kind of shows become! ❤
I’m a huge fan of this series and love your analysis! I was very excited to see you’re commenting on the episodes. But I think what I love more is that you haven’t finished the series as you go through these and I can’t wait to hear what you think as you watch them. I hope you aren’t disappointed!
One of the things I loved in this show (that I also learned about from you!) is they included pop culture magic as well amongst the traditional and modern magic practices in the show. I won’t give spoilers but the shows is so filled with easter eggs (and multi-level ones at that!) it’s fun to keep an eye out because if it seems like a detail is referencing something, it is! (Sorry if that’s all too vague, I just don’t wanna give away a single example so early in the series, it’s too good!)
Literally when the series first started airing, I was wondering if you were going to do a review on this. I'm so happy that you did. I hope that you'll cover every episode!
You’re going to love this show, some episodes are really fantastic. The crew did a skilled job of weaving clues throughout the environment and dialogue. I’m looking forward to your breakdowns!
Fabulous breakdown! I really enjoyed Agatha All Along.. I think my favorite was the divination witch, Lilia.. I think they did an amazing job with her character and the actress really brought her to life .. 😊
I love this breakdown so much! I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this show and I’m deeply considering rewatching to pick up on more details. I personally enjoyed Lilia. She’s like the no-nonsense aunt who knows a lot and cares a lot but will tell you like it is. I also enjoyed Alice’s arc. I mean, there isn’t a character I didn’t enjoy because they’re all well-written and well-acted, but I’d put Lilia on my team.
Thank you for this. I've seen all episodes and noticed a lot of the Easter eggs but you pointed out quite a lot that I didn't catch because I was paying more attention to the story. I will go back and watch it all again to catch it all. Thanks
I've heard of Agetha All Along, but watching this has definitely given me that push towards actually watching it!! Once again, a huge and indepth amount of information. I really do appreciate how much effort you put into your work, I've learnt so much from you, and you're one of the reasons I stuck to my practise. I've not been doing daily practise as often, as I've been doing a lot of overtime at work and in the past I would have felt bad about that, but you taught me that sometimes we have to prioritise our mundane life. Witchcraft will always be a passion of mine, no matter how much practise I do or do not do. Once again, I'm word vomiting on your comment section 😂 sorry!! I just have so much I want to say to you hahaha. Much love, Hearth 🫶 ~Melissa
I recently found your channel and I love your common sense approach to our craft. I rarely watch "witchcraft" shows but I may check this one out. The reference you made about seeing witches in our normal lives but not recognizing them as witches reminded me of something that happened several years ago. My daughter and I were having lunch in a popular restaurant in Salem, MA and overheard two women lamenting that they hadn't met any "real witches" during their visit. Much to my daughter's dismay, I informed them that they were sitting next to one right now. They were shocked because I didn't "look like a witch" . I took a little time to educate them a little better, we took a picture with me and we parted. I hope they enjoyed the rest of their visit.
Thank you for such an in-depth, comprehensive review. I admit I was turned off by the one ad that kept running for Agatha All Along that popped up on UA-cam. But with all the Easter eggs, pop culture references and historical callbacks you mentioned, it sounds like it is worth checking out.
33:38 about a decade ago, I was working retail, steaming some clothes and suppressing a panic attack, and a lady who said she was a psychic and I had a very intense aura of change about me so gave me her card if I wanted to get a reading. I was the only other person in the store besides her, so I’ve always wondered if she was actually legit and sensed my panic attack or just came up with a line that fit my age and position and I was the only target in the room…
Thank you for another very interesting video 🙂 Well, this is quite a discovery for me! When I officially started my practice in witchcraft in the 90s, I never recognized myself in the fictional characters in cinema or on TV (like The Witches of Eastwick, The Craft, Sabrina, Buffy, Practical Magic, Wicked...). But there, your presentation really piqued my curiosity! I will definitely take a look at Agatha 🙂
I’ve been hoping you would do a reaction video to Agatha and what was your thoughts about it, I really enjoyed the episodes, thank you for another fab video 💖
I would love see you also do the tv series called Sanctuary: a witches tale. I came out on amc plus. I loved it and was surprised to see season 2 I think coming this January. I didn't know if there'd be a 2nd season since there was just 1 book. I love Agatha season 1. Witches of east end i loved too. Thanks
Rio & Lilia are my favourite characters from the show. Agatha herself is an interesting character but I would have loved a bit more justification or explanation as to why she had such a cruel history. Loved the show though. 🖤
I'm so looking forward to watching you watch this show and all the revelations it holds for you. Enjoy, can't wait to hear your thoughts on 3 and 4! 😊 p.s. I saw nothing. Genuinely.
If you look at the locket Agatha had in wandavision, its the same, EXCEPT!!!! That its the 3 Graces dancing. Like the three of cups image. So they changed the locket after wandavision to make it make sense and more witchy, although the graces are witchy enough especially in my practice.
A genuine question, asked before; sadly muted.. Are there any pointers or references on Witchy afterlife? gratefully received. Another Ace of Wands. Love your work ❤
Remember Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? I feel like she was one of the first TV witches where the writers did some research into actual witchcraft practice.
I listened to an interview with Kathryn Hahn on R4 in September. She said there was consultation with an English witch… I wondered if it was anyone I followed… wasn’t you then? 😉
If you learn from real witches from the old country, Scotland and Ireland, mother and grandmother, wasn’t allowed to do too much, most I’ve learned on my own. I’m a hedge witch, I can travel but can’t talk only observing, and I like watching movies on witchcraft, especially tails from the old world ❤️♍️🗝🧙🏻♂️
Hey everyone, if we could avoid spoilers for those who haven’t seen beyond these 2 episodes that would be great. Or clearly mark them so everyone knows in advance x
The divination witch! I can't wait till you talk about her episode 😊

I love this your series about “What it got right about witchcraft” I definitely be looking for the next one💕

The version of Season Of The Witch that was used was the Donovan version.
I absolutely LOVE these kinda of breakdown videos cuz so much of what goes into these shows does draw from real world magickal practice, Ive actually started to think that the more they do, the more successful these kind of shows become! ❤
😃This is a great guided tour of the magic in the Agatha series. Now I am going to have to watch it.
Was not expecting to see my Mom in this show. But she did give me a deep love of gardening and accidentally teach me a lot of green craft. 😂

Omg, yes! I hoped you'd make a video about it, because I watched the show a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. 💕
I liked Witches of East End.
Oh I loved that show! So mad they just cancelled it on cliffhangers
I loved that series too and wanted more

Awesome analysis. Thank you, Lady Hearth.
Fabulous breakdown! I really enjoyed Agatha All Along.. I think my favorite was the divination witch, Lilia.. I think they did an amazing job with her character and the actress really brought her to life .. 😊
I knew you were gonna do up Agatha all Along one of these days 😁
Why is no one talking about Discovery of Witches. I have watched it like 3 times 😂 it's so good.
Thank you, Hearth ❤ wonderful as always 🥰
Wow. Another wonderful video. Thank you very much, you beautiful soul. 💚
I love this! The show is amazing
Btw whenever my son hears the music from your videos, he comes running to me to say how much he likes it 😊
Im so exicted for this series of breakdowns! Especially Episode 7!!
I love this breakdown so much! I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this show and I’m deeply considering rewatching to pick up on more details.

Hearth, you’re awesome!🫶🏻😊
Agatha all along is one of the reasons to make the inspiration for me for practicing witchcraft.
I love your review! I'm definitely watching all the series! Is like rewatching Agatha with a witchy critics eye. Love it! 💜
Fantastic video!!! ❤
Thank you thank you 🙏🏻 I can’t wait to see the next part ❤
you’ve convinced me to watch it now haha
A video where Hearth goes on a tangent, never ever happens right. 🙂Keep up the good work, Happy Yule my friend. 🧹🧹🧹
Loving that you’re doing this!! Can’t wait for future episodes! 💜✨
Marvel made a point of having real witches as consultants o the show, which is why it's so acturate. In some places anyhow.
Blessed be Lady Hearth. Love and light to you always, Your Grace. Hope your day is going well. Have a blessed week. ✌️🧙♀️🌹

Hmm I will check the show out thanks for the sharing 😊😊😊❤
Been waiting for this for a month!🎉🎉
A new Hearth video! Yesssss!!!!
Been looking forward to this video. Thanks. 😊 Agatha is the highest-profile recent witch show so it makes sense people are asking for it. 🙂
Having started this video yesterday I then binged watched the whole series last night 🙈😅 I think my favourites are the divination witch and Rio.
I’ve been hoping you would do a reaction video to Agatha and what was your thoughts about it, I really enjoyed the episodes, thank you for another fab video 💖
I've watched season 1 Agatha all along, great series ❤

Now you've really got me wanting to watch this show!
Thank you for sharing and happy holidays 👍
Such a good deep dive! Glad i wasnt the only one who saw so many parallels to real life witchcraft 😂
omg this show is sooooo good!
Rio & Lilia are my favourite characters from the show. Agatha herself is an interesting character but I would have loved a bit more justification or explanation as to why she had such a cruel history. Loved the show though. 🖤

Thank you for content ❤️ sending love from Lithuania 🥰 cant wait for Love Witch review too 🤭❤️🔮
amazing video Hearth..thank you
Lilia is my favorite!!! 💜 Oh i cant wait until you cover her episode. It was the best of the series in my opinion. Have your Kleenex ready.

I've enjoyed the series a discovery of witches
Yes. written by Deborah Harkness not to be confused with Agatha Harkness.
Remember Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? I feel like she was one of the first TV witches where the writers did some research into actual witchcraft practice.
I haven't watched this but now I want to. I definitely know what you are talking about when you talked about names. I live in the bible belt
I think my favourite is Agatha (no spoilers). 😊 Biting my tongue because I have seen the whole show. 🤐😂
Merry Christmas
Love u. Blessed Yule tide !
Im also a wiccan and loved Agatha all along
Knowledge is power... keep an open mind to other religions... 🌹🌹
Anyone notice the Bewitched house 🏠 in Agatha??
In the Bible Belt here I’ve hidden my practices most of my life.
I listened to an interview with Kathryn Hahn on R4 in September. She said there was consultation with an English witch… I wondered if it was anyone I followed… wasn’t you then? 😉
@HearthWitch
Love is vid
But
I loving your ear rings where in the heck did u get them???❤
I only saw 1 episode because I realised I probably needed to finish Wandavision first so maybe I should go do that and then come back 😅
If you learn from real witches from the old country, Scotland and Ireland, mother and grandmother, wasn’t allowed to do too much, most I’ve learned on my own. Sleep deprivation and starvation are torture. Just FYI

I love your Witchy analysis of this, but for this Show is total sh.... I wish they would have hired someone who actually could write a good story.
