the fact that he has helmed 3 spider movies but still respects new iterations respect Sam
heck yeah
Raimi has always come across as a very humble, down-to-earth kinda guy. I don't think I've ever heard him criticize anyone's movies other than his own.
@@Whoa802 Which is surprising cause most people don't criticize their own movies but, sam does it very openly. He's a great man.
@Jaden LaFrance preach my friend, preach. I like MCU Spidey, but I don't know why people have to be such jerks about it. There is a difference between saying you hate something and something that sucks.
@Jaden LaFrance trust me the toxic side of the Raimi fans don’t represent the entirety, while I personally consider his movies superior to the tasm and mcu Spidey movies it doesn’t mean I’ll insult or belittle the people that don’t share that opinion
He seems like he misses making Spider-Man
I would love if he came back and directed either another version of Peter Parker or miles morales something new like i cant be the only who feels this way being tired of peter
Spiderman 1 & 2 were good and 3 got muddled with to put venom in so i can forgive it not being to par with the first 2 but i would love to see him at marvel even if it isn't spiderman.
Cause he loved the loved the character so much than any other director did like how tobey loved playing spider man.
Now he's going to direct Doctor Strange 2.
Nik Waggoner I mean I heard Sam Riami didn’t want Venom in the first place and he wanted different villain like Vulture or Mysterio, but Sony forced him to use Venom in the movie and he didn’t know nothing about Venom and even Sam Riami hated what he did for Spider Man 3 and he wanted the movie masterpiece like first two movies and mostly blame Avi Arad was the one that wanted Venom in the movie in the first place, but I heard that he apologized, but okay 🤷🏽♂️. Sony just being pushy on the director and wanted something awesome and originally they were going make Spider Man 4 and it was cancelled that I don’t know about it and maybe it could of been the script that Sony wanted that he didn’t like.
What if Raimi and Maguire came back and made a "Logan" style Spider-Man movie
2021 Edit: Never in a million years did I think Tobey would return to play Spider-Man once again. No Way Home was easily one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in a theater.
Yes! But not as dark as Logan was because that would just not suit who Spider Man is.
Vendzor A Spider-Man movie where he’s in his 40’s would be perfect because Tobey is now in his 40’s. Would be really cool to see an older Spider-Man in live action, hasn’t been done before.
that would be awesome but if it was as dark then that would break my entire childhood
“Parker”
Firas Ziada there is an alternate version of Spider-Man similar to Logan his costume is featured in the latest game of Spider-Man.
Thanks to Rami's and success on the Orginal Trilogy we wouldn't have good superhero movies today.
geek club Don't forget Blade and XMen!
No, it's actually because of the first iron man movie that kicked off the start for superhero movies
JarJarStinks not really, the first iron man was the start of the MCU,but the reason it was even possible to do that was thanks to Xmen,Blade,Spiderman 1-3,Batman Begins and The Dark Knight....
Angry Review the DCEU wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the MCU which wouldn't exist if it wasn't for iron man, I consider iron man the kick starter for everything. I mean before iron man those movies all have mixed reviews and opinions after iron man superhero movies became so much more popular today.
WackyTabakee Without the original Spiderman and X-Men movies there would have been no Iron Man movie. What don't you get about that?
Sam Raimi had the best Spiderman films
No any more
Paul Mohinson stfu
Tom Holland is the BEST Spider-Man ever, sorry.
Yeezys he's not a fanboy because he's not defending a bad product out of ignorance, even tho I do prefer Tobey maguire, Tom Holland is also a very good spiderman, its just a difference in opinion
FryL0ck NO IT DIDNT
Raimi and Maguire are really mature and humble about this.
Which is something that most of its fanbase should learn from.
You are correct
Its not immature to dislike a film franchise ahahahah
@@brandonmichael5891 the way they hate on it is immature lmaooo
@@luck3367 the same goes for the MCU stans hating on anything because it’s older lmaoooooooooooooooooooo
Exactly! I love how they're not comparing or judging anything and are hoping for the best!
Does anyone think that Raimi deserves another chance to direct more Spider-Man films?
Definitely. Whether they'd give him creative freedom or not idk tho.
Hes practically the only one who didnt get what he deserved. Another go.
It's a similar situation to Andrew Garfield, both deserve another chance
He’s doing the new Dr Strange movie let’s see how well that turns out, no doubt it will be amazing
#makesamraimisspiderman4
You can tell just how passionate he is about the source material just by the look in his eye when someone likes talking about their interests
SAM RAIMI AND DANNY ELFMAN SHOULD RETURN TO THE SPIDER-MAN FRANCHISE!

Onspeed 4000 YES SAM RAIMI IS BULLSHIT

This entire thread is biased as hell.
Spiderman No Way Home is kind of the movie that we all always described as an impossible dream like "wouldn't it be amazing if all three of them got together and made a movie!!!"
Who else got this video in their feed and then got excited to hear Raimi’s take on NWH until they read the release date

Sadly the high school aspect didn't really get focused on in the mcu movies, the closest we got was homecoming but that didn't feel high school focused, that was just the setting.
You, Sir, made the best Spiderman in the history of mankind, thank you for giving me a good time in my teenhood.
am I the only one that noticed how fast sam jumped from webs version to marvels? lmao xD "uh yeah they're great.. but back to the new marvel spiderman in high school" it seemed like he didn't want to talk about those films
The Webb ones are better spiderman films than hc or ffh
The reason Sam Raimi made such great Spiderman movies is because he genuinely loved the source material and the character iteslef.
for god's sake, Marvel! Get this guy to direct your spiderman movies!
Now he's directing mcu's doctor strange 2, sooooo ?

Yeah, I would rather have that than what John Watts is cooking in the new Spiderman films.
I love that Bruce mentions Skyhigh 😂
It's sad that he beats himself up about the failure of the 3rd film. He made 2 brilliant films prior to that, no-one is perfect and even then the 3rd wasn't really his fault but Sony's for demanding Venom to be included when he didn't want to include Venom. He left on a sour note, he deserves another crack at Spiderman. A 4th film that would be separate from the MCU of course.
ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime Agreed
As much as I love Sam as a director and those first two Spider-Man movies, I ultimately feel like it was both him AND Sony that made Spider-Man 3 what it is. Avi Arad did what he does best, which is making everything he touches a disaster, but you can also tell that Sam just didn't have his heart in it. I completely believe there was a way to make it all work, and instead he understandably just tried to get it done and over with.
It wasn't Sony who demanded venom it was Avi Arad.
third failure not because of sony or Raimi it is abouth audition. People not can always understand what great movies is.
Spiderman 3 dark Peter(Bully Maguire) besy character ever created
The irony is that even if 3rd failed the memes from it are still alive and keeping the content of the movie relevant as ever.
Raimi saying he was excited about the high school setting was also what I was excited about but honestly HC kinda disappointed me in that regard.
None of Peter's friends were given any proper depth and his relations to them never really developed or changed. We never see Peter's friends or Teacher who favours him actually get angry that he ditched the decathalon in a strange city all on his own, heck we don't even see Ned make an excuse. The personal and social life seemed to matter so little in HC at times at that disappointed me considering that Peter Parker's life is basically a soap opera, I'm not saying his life has to be completely depressing but it needs to have actual character
Wrong
@@masonwright7700 no u
@@masonwright7700 great argument XD
I wonder if he really did like the Marc Webb versions lol.
Charles De Rosas probably not be he just said they're were good because he didn't want to be rude.
Charles De Rosas well he seems really nice lol
Charles De Rosas I bet he didn't, but unlike zack snyder, he was nice and respectable and didn't shit on movie that he didn't like, he is a very nice man and I hope he is involved in a future spiderman movie
greywolf 18 When did Zack Snyder talk shit about a movie that he didn't like? I'm not hating on you or nothing like that, I'm just curious
Santiago Faria he talked shit about Thor getting a movie and saying that he dosnt deserve one and he called ant man a flavor of the week superhero movie and how batman and superman transcend the superhero genre
Sam Raimi should do another comic book movie.
Like spawn or hellboy or blade or ghost rider
Kimmy Boy 😂
we got good news buddy
Aaaaaah, this aged well
hehehe siuu
He should get an best actor oscar for this perfomance. Didn't even hesitate for a second when calling Marc Webbs movies great.
I’m so excited for doctor strange with him at the helm he truly loves the source material and you can tell it was a big part of his childhood
Should Raimi direct Homecoming 2?
Wiizardii um he did the best job so why not
Wiizardii it's too late, it will be directed by Jon Watts. He directed the first Homecoming film, hopefully he can direct Homecoming 3 or maybe be a producer or writer on a Spiderman film.
Thats not happening
Honestly I would like to see him be one of the writers or producers for one of the MCU Spider-Man movies.
while good there werenCertain fundamentals which were in the Raimi movies were absent in HC so I'd love to see what Raimi would input or advise. He knows what Spider-Man is about
I wish
Love the Raimi Trilogy, glad to see Bruce Campbell mention Sky High
Aww, for a moment I thought this was asking what he thought about the MTV animated Spider-Man
Spiderman all 3 are badass i still hope he can come back for 4
MUSTANG GT fourpointsix2valve
But that's not gonna happen tho
The G.O.A.T , so glad he's back in Marvel doing Dr Strange, the Raimi movies were definitely the best movies.
“Did you watch the Webb films?”
“Oh yea they were great”
😂😂😂😂
They were great
He should make a miles morales Spider-Man movie with Tobey being the older Spider-Man mentor
During this, Raimi seemed like he was happy to talk about Spider-Man, especially because he gets asked about it a lot, and Bruce Campbell seems very annoyed for that reason. It's as if he wants to step in and defend his best friend from having to talk about what is a sensitive subject for Sam, but is letting him speak anyway to not cause a scene, and just makes a joke to try and change the subject. Maybe I'm reading too into it, but it feels heartwarming to think that Bruce Campbell's got his back to this day
Watching this after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness news about Sam Raimi directing the sequel. Awesome!
Sam raimi made Hollywood take superhero films seriously.
Raimi Gwen: Who are you
Webbs Gwen: You but dead lol
*He's being humble, he knows what he made is the highest known to mankind*
I don’t think so…
When you hear him talk about Oz and Spidey 3, he takes all the blame of those films on himself. He didn’t stop directing for a decade because he thought he was just too good…
Really, it puts the whole Strange 2 thing into perspective, because he knew how badly things could go and did it anyway. In my mind, that just makes him more awesome.
When the name spider-man comes , it only makes me remember of sam raimi spider-man. 🤩
idk if bruce campbell is being ironic, but yes we all do remember coach boomer
Out of all the spiderman series sam raimi seemed like the biggest fan of the character
yeah facts but people hate on his movies because they're "cheesy"
even tho they weren't lmao, imagine
if he made a new spiderman trilogy
with the same cast but with todays
cgi and some better acting
This is just my opinion, but I really think Sam Raimi should direct the 2017 Spider-Man reboot with Tom Holland.
I don't think that Sam would wanna deal with Sony's crap again. They messed his vision of Spider-Man 3, and destroyed the whole story etc.
+CaptainAmericYang they got new people working on the spider man reboot so maybe it will be better if he just produced it cause they've got the director and writers already.
Or let Sam Rami direct Spider-Man 4 since the Sony Marvel deal stated that they can make a spider man movie that doesn't take place in the MCU! As long if it didn't take place in Marc Webb universe! Which in my opinion, The Amazing Spider Man 2 sucks!
amazing spider man movie is awesome
Commander Shepard the first one was alright the second was shit, I don't think most of the Maguire movies are that good either. They are incredibly cliched and cheesy

When I saw the title "Sam Raimi Reveals What He Thinks About The New Spider-Man" I prayed "Please, Sam, say it's total crap, no one can make Spider-Man but me...!" That would be honesty... But Sam is too humble for that...
its interesting to hear sam raimi's thoughts on spiderman franchise, i am not so sure he liked marc webb's spiderman movies. i wish they continued with TAS3 with andrew garfield who is the best spidey to me.
BatmanFANizationReborn I came up a few years ago and said that he absolutely loved TASM.
BatmanFANizationReborn Considering he still says they are great after a year the last one came out, and Sony have all but abandoned that franchise, I think he genuinely liked them.
Commander Shepard years after probably not lol
How can you NOT love Bruce Campbell? Everything he says he makes it sound awesome.
Sam Raimi loves making movies and he loves watching them, with all their flaws and imperfections. Geeks could learn a lot from him. The people hate on Zack Snyder AND the people who glorify him, the MCU haters and the people who only like the MCU, why not just like stuff and share the things we love with others while appreciating what they love instead of using opinions as a way to prove yourself as better than someone else or more worthy of the fandom? I like liking things
Some of it is maturity, some of it is wisdom, some of it is just staying far far away from social media and fandom.
Seriously though, I feel sorry for people whose self esteem relies on their ability to like the “right” type of art. I still ignore them though, at least in regards to films, because closed minds tend to be pretty boring.
Lucy Lawless (Xena), Bruce Campbell (Autolycus), and Sam Raimi all in the same room. Legendary. Who knew Raimi would direct Hercules, Xena, and Spiderman in his career. What a life!

@Down 4 Well kinda, but Sam Raimi is Sam Raimi
In the 1990s, Sam Raimi had planned to direct Thor under Twentieth Century Fox, but the studio passed on the project. Raimi would later direct a trilogy of films on Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), two other Marvel Comics superheroes.
There is something.. A kind of chemistry that is lacking in Marvel movies ... That makes Sam ramis movie an outstanding... .. This actually inspires me on how the real hero is....
