Don't get me wrong - I love Garfield as the new Spider-man. Brilliant actor. But from a genuine analysis, Maguire did a very good job playing a shy, socially-awkward, compassionate, love-stricken, inspired young man. I thought he evoked lots of emotion into his portrayal of Peter Parker.
His Spider-Man's 1 and 2 were very good with a talented cast in each one and they were made in a simpler time.
