My friends gave me a 2001 ML 430 to sell. It had a bunch of minor issues that were easy to fix, mostly lights and power steering fluid leaks. The window control panel was physically damaged with a missing switch and they had not used the windows in quite some time. I ordered a new window control panel which operated all the windows correctly although kept blowing the F30 fuse. I dug and hunted around trying to figure out if it was a short, an issue with the motor, relay or something else. As I was digging around I cleaned and lubricated all the parts as the grease had all dried out and there was tons of grit and dust in everything as they live down a dirt road. Apparently it was just the lack of lubrication and or dirt in the window mechanism blowing the fuse as once everything was back together I've put them up and down over 20 times and have been unable to blow the fuse again.
I love how you keep your cool when discovering more work you have to do with this 😸 Must have good patience. Nice job, glad it wasn't the motors, that would have been even more fun hah 👍
Thanks for the tutorial, but if you could plz clarify just one point of confusion: at 8:30 you said the black wire you placed into the connector on the other side of the red and green wire is connected to the negative post of the battery; then at but at 8:43 you said that same black wire is connected via 20A fuse to the positive battery post; and then at 9:00 you used that black wire to bridge the 2 red and green wires. So it sounds like you said 3 different things should be done with that same wire at the same time, which is contradictory. So plz kindly explain, what is the correct order of things to be done? And thanks very much for all the time & effort you put into training us DIYers 👍🏼👍🏼
Can you do a video on electronic door locks? Some doors don’t act with the electronic button to open/close. But it seems like it only happens when it’s cold, like right now.
I have a 2005 A4. I have checked each window component and everything works. But when I push the button there is a clicking from the motor but the mirror doesn't run. Is it possible that each motor has it's own internal relay?
I keep getting sent the wrong part but when I order the regulator for the passenger side window in a 2005 Dodge caravan they keep sending me the driver side is there a way I can make the driver side fit on the passenger side does anybody know
That's an ugly mess. Trip to a wrecker for that connecter I would guess. Get the wires with it. I have 3 Land Rovers so I am a major do it yourselfer. Always have been for 50 years.
Now..... you'd think that the fuse would have gone before the wires melted in the way they did... I'd double check the fuse. Might be a 10 amp with a 30 amp fuse in it.
tracing/fixing electrical issues is my weakest skill, anything you can show for wow to perform these tests would be great... I have a power probe and another similar tester, but I'm not real sure how to use them...
@SaintTrinianz There just isn't the mechanical bits present that you would. Of course you could rip everything out and start from scratch but would not be easy.
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤

If it's not the window motor, window switch or 30 amp window fuse. What is it? Left front window on 2006 Chevy Malibu LT.
Nice diag as always.

Frayed wire may be an indication of rodents chewing on the wires during the night, mice tend to like chewing on wiring harness’s .
