Fun Fact: Ants have also mastered domestication of other insects. You see, the ants let in aphids that feed off of the leaves which means they produce honeydew, so the aphids get protection, and the ants can milk them to get the sugary honeydew.

Some species of ants also grow their own fungus. They've been practicing agriculture for 5.000.000 years.
@@mr.randomly2799they have been doing it for way longer. The 5 million part refers to attas, acromymrex and their kin who harvest leaves to cultivate fungus but they are not the first to have done this

It has been suggested (controversially) that the biomass of ants worldwide equals that of humans, so given their tiny individual size, we are out-performed. But it is the superorganism that is the focus of their societies, not the individuals.

Alot of these "nature is good" people delude themselves by pretending we are not just another part of nature. And they also have barely any grasp of the complexity of nature and the many dualities found within it.

@@TheAdekrijger Totally agree. People like to think they are more than the animals they are. Any species that reached our level of complexity would do the same to survive and thrive. The same people like to delude themselves that humans have the power to control climate with smoke and plastic. We are a moment in time on the clock of evolution and will gone soon on a geologic scale, whether by extinction or evolving into obscurity.
Everyone works with nature technically. The resources we use comes from nature and we bend nature to suit our will. But that also makes us weak as we will die if nature dies.

In Bangladesh, the local area I am from, we call them mango ants. Their eggs make really good bait for fishing.

I remember back when I was a child me and 3 of my friends would play under a tree with a weaver ant nest in it. One time my tried to climb the tree but accidentally hit nest and the ants fell on top of the other three. Let's just say what happened next ended *VERY* badly.....

These ants can really bite..and leave huge blisters..we had them on neem trees...and have had bad experiences...but just admired the way they worked....

Ramona Netto actually they just bite and spray acidic so if you have sensitive skin blisters may form but I've been bitten many times but no blisters have formed

us can do something for the envioment everyday.

my Phiedole Megacephala colonies do this every day. Its rare to see it in person as most humans will never thing to look closer when they see "little black bugs" on flowers when those black bugs are aphids and the ants are protecting them and farming with them.
Must be awesome to own a farm. There's always tasks to be done and challenges that come unexpectedly.

That dish in México is called “escamoles” a very exotic and expensive one.
WOW!! I live in Northern Thailand and I know this delicacy we called "Mod - Som"(Mod = ant ,Som= Sour taste or orange color) it is the most nutritious thing in the forest, you can eat it raw or make many northern Thai food dishes with it. yummy!

Yellow crazy ants or the golden empire are smaller than this mango ants. LOL
This anta are atleast triple the size of those crazy ants.
He actually used to have a weaver ant colony but it eventually became too much for him to handle I do believe, and so he doesn't currently have such a species.

There are different types of ants in the world. There are some ants which do farming. It is surprising for us to know that ants can do farming. The South American ants do farming. These ants are called umbrella ants also. They carrying leaves, it looks that they are taking umbrella! They bring these leaves to their nest. Then they chew them up nicely. After wards they make beds of these chewed-up leaves. Here they grow a kind of fungus. This is the food of ants. They like this food. These ants are called farmer who do such type of farming. There are also types of ants which like to have honey-like liquid. They bring green flies to their nest. They protect them. By pressing their sides, they milk' them and enjoy honey like liquid from them. 🐜 🐜

A few scouts then s highway of ants, there's three types that eat them in my apartment.
I don't bother them unless the fire ants get in my bedroom

yeah, like old frozen mush made out of animal corpseparts or tasteles mutated vegetation or liquid/chrystals that have no proper nutrition value and hold so much energy in them that it is dangerous to your health when combined with the level of addiction you'll develop to it.
