Watch loopop’s microfreak vocoder vid. You can use in ear earphones if they’re the old ones with a cable with a regular 3.5 jack and a mic on the cable.
There is so much it can do, we didn't even come close to starting in this video really hahaha. If you've got one, reverse engineering the presets is a great way to get an idea of how the design process works. Thanks for watching!
@@FreeBeat no, I don't have one. I've got a Monologue and when I bought it I thought that it was so similar to the Arturia's monosynths, but I think I was wrong, especially with the Microfreak!
@@FreeBeat It's a very interesting synth. While at first it may be complicated to use only the hardware synth, you can learn very fast with the app they have (Android, iOS, Windows and Mac using the usb cable)
Took a plunge and coughed up for one of these on your recommendation. Already delving into the madness and having a lot of fun. Only downside is the unit did not come with a USB lead so I cannot update it since I don't own one with the weird shed shaped connector. Could anybody tell me what kind of connector this is?
Glad you're enjoying your freak! That's just a standard USB type A to full size type b (printer cable). You might have one laying around already, if not they are very cheap!
@@FreeBeat thanks for the clarification dude. Just ordered one. Could I potentially trouble you for one more bit of advice? I tried plugging the Freak into my Minirig portable speaker but could not get any volume out of it. I can't figure out why, since it is a powered speaker and should surely be able to receive signal at level from the headphone out.
For more freak help for anyone, maybe also download the PDF user's guide if getting/has a freak. It is a 100+ page brainbuster, but it really helps sort things out. Also, if you are tired of shredding your fingers on that cheese grater for a keyboard, the keystep works great. And keystep has aftertouch so you dont even lose that.
@@FreeBeat this is my music channel. the jj rusy channel is for getting into trouble, but i think i will use this channel for visiting other creators from now on. I think it will be less confusing because this is where my music is. Also, both my channels counted in your sub count nya ahah
That patch bay puts the Microfreak on a different level compared to synths in a similar price bracket. A joy to watch as always FB.
Yeah there's nothing else like it anywhere near that price haha. Thanks for watching!

Yeah haha, unfortunately I don't have any of those laying around
That synth does it all, so much fun. Cool video Free Beat !
Thanks for watching!
Wow very cool, I just picked mine up this weekend too!
You're in for a world of fun!
The Microfreak seems a very fun video for creating patches!!

I hope I can get a Microfreak soon!! Right now I’m exploring the Modal Craft Synth 2 and it’s a very interesting synth too.
Nice, that one has been on my wish list for a while. I'm guessing you're enjoying yours?

Great tutorial, can’t help but question why they didn’t place the matrix knob on the left corner instead of the middle
Yeah, it's a bit of an interesting choice, it doesn't hamper the experience that much at all though, thanks for watching!

Nice. What's it with the black tape on the top right? I've seen this somewhere else.
Haha it's just the little screen protector that the Freak ships with. I'm too paranoid to take it off!
Really cool!
Thanks as always!
Mom! The synth is acting weird again!
