WHAT IS PARAPHONY? 😱 ▼ Quote; newjazz @ AudioFanzine: “In a strictly monodic system, all oscillators are triggered at the same time when pressing a single key. In a paraphonic system, each oscillator can be triggered individually by a different note, however, the signals produced follow the exact same processing chain, like in a monodic system. ▼ For example, if you play a C and you wait for the attack and decay times of the amp envelope to elapse to play a G, while still holding the C, the G will overlap the C, but it will incorporate itself into the sustain time of the latter's envelope, without triggering a new envelope in turn. “ - End quote ▼ Source: www.google.se/amp/s/en.audiofanzine.com/sound-synthesis/editorial/articles/amp/polyphony-paraphony-and-multitimbrality.html ▼ Another good source is this post from Marc Doty aka “Automatic Gainsay” over at FaceBook: m.facebook.com/AutomaticGainsay/posts/589934551075953 ▼ Paraphony is not really about how many notes one play but with the articulation of each note. I’ll have to make an in depth video about this!
I’ve been reading the manual and Arturia say some functions like after touch might not function correctly. Very impressed with this synth and I’m getting ready to pull the trigger.
Constant unsolicited parameter changes/saves, [the microfreaks dispay screen is constantly showing these changes] some of the patches abrubtly cut off/out while playing, some of the patches wildly change characteristic while playing, midi commands not working [stop] for the sequencer via external gear. Some of these issues similar and the same as mine have been reported on the Arturia microfreak forums, I have informed Arturia of my specific problems and am awaiting a reply.
Cycling envelopes are fantastic. With all the other sequencing & modulation possibilities ........ oh, my, my ......... I can’t wait to get mine. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks 😵
I’m really meticulous about stuff like this. I can’t remember when I started doing it like this exactly but I’ve been doing it for ages. It’s great for comparing the workflows and the “sound” of synths. 👊🏼
You can get 128 steps using the both the A and B sequences. Now if only there was a way for A to automatically switch to B right when it's done. The trick, I guess, is to have your finger hit the B button right at the end of that 64th note.
Music maker these days have more cameras than photographers :) and still one of your hands is busy! You need a microphone stand, buddy! Loved your spelling confusion and things like that. As a Russian dude practicing my written skills only on youtube and reddit I totally understand the struggles. All the joking aside - thanks for a quick demo. Can't wait to buy it myself. I think it's gonna be a perfect companion for my Minilogue XD. I watch lots of videos and I still don't understand what paraphonic synth is. I'm confused. If you say it can play 4 notes at the same time...isn't it 4 voice polyphony? What're the limitations of paraphony compared, for example, to minilogue? Is it somehow affecting ADSR or filter per voice? HELP :)

I’ve just got a Microfreak as a gift. Time to learn something new.
Great video! Good and simple sound design tips with clear and informative explanations of the Microfreak features you chose to explain!.
Really enjoying your videos man. Picked up a microfreak to add to my live setup and have become pretty obsessed with it.
I think I've encrosed my knowledge of synthesis a bit further. Thanks!

Love the synth and as usual your videos are great, keep them coming Jakob and more from the MicroFreak
Nice that you got one without the problems the UK distributed ones seem to have! Had mine only one day and its now boxed up ready to go back.
Mine too the headphone Output only left Side plays and while playing Keys cutoff Modulation Changes without pressing anything
Micro Banshee What issues was your unit having?

Thank you for the detailed response! 👍🏼 I’d love to hear if you get a response from Arturia as well.
@@MicroBanshee The latest firmware update fixes a lot of this.
I finally tried one at the store. It’s really interesting.

Good too see the Freak finally hitting the stores tempting!
Great demo... easy to follow.
Mmmmmm. You made a nice BOC style sound. Very nice. I’m sold man!
Dope stuff as always man!
Sweet man. i have already pre ordered my FREEEEEK!!!
Mmmmnn, nice and warm!
Great Sound Design advice! I'll need to try that, i.e. having a specific set of Synth Sounds you try to create on all new synths! 🎹

1:16 Damn that bass was destruction.

You’ve got a chair! I remember the good ol’ rolled up duvet on the floor days
What stand did you use for the MF?
What capacity powerbank are you using ?
lekkere sound man
Quite interesting! 😍
Great example of showing how the cycling envelope works but I still don’t understand what the difference between run and loop is when using it
DeVore Fortney I’ll try to explain it in the next one featuring the MicroFreak! 👍🏼
Nice bro!
Damn that organ is aphex perfection
Can you layer sounds on the sequencer?? Like track 1 track 2 track 3
no
@@russianvoodoo really thanks
Korg m1 organ 2 ?can Microfreak sound like this?
Good machine!
Still waiting on my Microfreak to ship...
Jakob .... HARDWARE synths ... sight ... so good to see this ;P
If you can clarify what you mean, because in not sure if you don’t like that I’m making videos on hardware synths or not?
Jakob Haq I love it!
I'm thinking this might work well as a midi controller. Have you tried that out yet Jakob?
Supreme Lord Commander That’s something I’m looking into right now. Stay tuned! 👍🏼
Okay that commercial screen is just hilarious ^^ too bad I have premium :(
Cue to 6.55 for first sounds. Long monologue
Yeah, tutorials usually have a lot of talking in them ... Btw first sound is at 1:18
love your expanded take on "how to" and using different synths. Nicely done.

Regarding Paraphony, check my pinned comment 😅😰
Add microtuning arturia this is not fair
