- My task is to try and steal as many cars as possible within 1 day of Gta 5 time, but with the cars guarded and hunters roaming the city I have to be extra carful while working against the clock.

Was hoping Alex would come in the main entrance, be distracted by the car in front of him so he wouldn't notice me, but that didn't work 😂
you should know my now that Alex doesn't do typical and usually gets lost ( unlike STH where he has places where he routes in a chase)

Would be cool if you showed us where the cars were at the end, that way we could see how close you were to finding the ones you didn't. Another cool idea would be to have the guards take a picture of themselves and their car and send it to you instead of having the map. It would make it extra difficult but could also be a fun way to add a bit of an extra challenge.

Put you car in a really obvious open spot which still has a good hiding place within sight and judging from this one yours would probably be stolen.

Simply due to the Pier mess-up I hope for an discussion version of this video to just know what the hunter's reaction to seeing Alex drive away in Leathercap's car after killing them.
I saw the actual car as 27:40 and was thinking "oh, wait, that looks more like a target car"
To be fair to Alex the hunters kinda screwed it up
All he knew was that he was looking for a pink vehicle. Not what kind of vehicle. So them having the guard car also be pink was just a silly move.

After a decade in Los santos, I can't bring myself to actually play GTA V anymore. Thankfully, the fail race community is still putting out these amazing videos that make the space still feel alive while we wait for GTA 6. Thanks for the effort and another fun video!

I am a huge fan, and the proud owner of a Failrace hoodie, so just offering honest feedback. It is sometimes a bit frustrating when you spend so much time searching for a parked car. Suggest you give yourself slightly more accurate locations. Please keep up the good work - these are so much fun to watch.
I reckon he needs a list of cars he’s going to steal. That way he knows what they look like too.

I've been watching FailRace videos for *years*. Actually got me to buy GTA for the first time. I never realized that the "Apostrophe" wasn't actually an apostrophe until this exact video 🤣
Same here! I had zero interest in GTA games until I started watching this channel. And yes, the car is the Karin "Asterope" (which is the name for certain Greek mythological nymphs) but I don't blame him for calling it an "Apostrophe" instead 🤣
I think maybe for the next one, give Alex a better idea of where the cars are so he doesn't spend half the time on foot trying (and failing) to find them.

A nice run through of this game on GTA V. Loved the second steal - how nerveracking to find the car was out on the street, with barely anyone around to guard it. Where they in a stealth car? 🤣
It would be nice if Alex would mention who the hunters for each of these type missions.

I'm sure the criminal who "ordered" the stolen cars was thrilled to get the wrong pink car. Obvious fix would be for the hunters to not have their target car be the same color as their chase car. But a great episode. A good job by the hunters in almost pinning him in the parking lot when he stole the Grand National analog. That was a close call.

Amy didn't pay attention to one of the rules, which was don't drive/sit in a car the same colour as the vehicle Alex was meant to be stealing. An honest mistake.
Actually that is an analog of the 3rd generation Chevrolet Monte Carlo from 1978-1980. I had drivers' education in a powder blue 1980 model.
Maybe for a future episode either have all the vehicles Alex is supposed to try and steal either the same color or very brightly colored? That way Alex won't get confused on which one he's supposed to steal!😉

I would guess it was some noise from the rollercoaster nearby. The guard sat in the car Alex ended up stealing there...
This is my most favorite games to play and watch on GTA online! I would love to see a version of this game when you already have the list of cars in front of you so you can choose which to deliver first and last! Also it would give you a great opportunity to play tricks on anyone who may be watching. You could go out towards a certain car on the list and make yourself easily scene and circle the block a few times. That’s when everyone will close into the area but if you’re careful enough you could have already snuck out of the area to snag another car that might not have anyone watching it! Of course you should always assume someone has on the area !👀
But it would be a cool way of playing! Also I don’t know if most people here are old enough to remember Nintendo 64’s Rush 2 where you could play a really hectic, awesome game of car tag with your friends! I remember my brother would play this every night after work and constantly on the weekends. Taking a break by playing twenty or thirty rounds of Bond vs Bond on Goldeneye 64 which was still one of the best games ever! I spent my twenties playing Nintendo 64 and eating pizza with my brother nearly every night. Thanks for the video!

No clue why he would think that the hunter could just sit in the car he's supposed to be stealing lol That kind of strategy seems to go against every rule they have in place. Huge brain fart moment that led to much entertainment :D
Well, there was only supposed to be one pink car in the area and that was the first one he saw. I would put the blame more on the hunters than on Alex for that little mix-up, but they sorted it out after the chase anyway so it's all good.

It nice to see the person (Laddo) who usually gets killed first in these Gone in 48 minutes series. Sadly yere were no Laddo's killed in the making of this episode. (Sorry Laddo).
I think it would be neat to have a map overlay in the corner so we can see where the hunters are compared to your location. Would definitely give a more suspenseful feel

Putting in the Brioso and Weevil was brutal if they were giving chase in Fugitives, Gauntlets, Schwartzers, etc.

Maybe try putting underglow on the cars to be stolen. And have a central parking garage as your delivery point. So there's not so much driving back and forth to the docks.

Alex you keep taking the longest way back to the docks 😂 go on the little maze bank arena road to the latin gang part on that main road with the train tracks, bridge to awkward docs and a left to Simeon docks! So much quicker!

I believe I've said this on one of the previous Gone in 48s, but with the size of the map and the amount of vehicles, 48 minutes just is not enough unless you're just cannonballing the entire thing; you essentially give yourself four minutes to get to a vehicle and four minutes to get it down to the docks. Realistically, stealth aside, having to deal with the hunters aside, straight shot with uncapped speed in spawning vehicles, is eight minutes round trip average to a vehicle and back even feasible? Honestly just getting four cars within this time limit is a good run.
Other than extending runtime, a solution to this could be adding more drop-off locations. Such as Pacific Bluffs Country Club (the first major building outside of the city along Great Ocean Highway) in the northwest, or the amphitheater in the northeast, docks is already southeast, which could leave the airport as southwest. Alternatively, the Kortz Center could be used for NW, the casino race track garage/stables could be NE, there's just not a good alternative for the airport and a safezone there would be hard to do without nixing the parking garage and road loop area of the airport entirely; otherwise everything else has a decent set safezone, a decent amount of road leading up to the drop-off location that can be easily defined. Maybe with the rule that you have to cross map halves, so if you're in the northwest you have to go to one of the other three drop-offs. This, or a longer time limit at say 72 minutes, is the only way to fully complete the challenge.

I wanna see this but you get an equally armed body guard and they can chase you into docks.
That could be fun, and the guard can drive an Armored Kuruma with bulletproof wheels to transport Alex as he goes looking for the cars. And both sides can shoot out of car windows. Although this probably veers into a completely different type of game mode. :)
Somehow the movie with a Nicholas Cage wouldn’t have been quite so impressive if he and his crew had ended up stealing 100 shitboxes that just happened to be the same colours as the super cars that Raymond Calitri had tasked them with stealing…

maybe have a hint photo, after being in the area for 2mins, get a photo of where the car is from a person spying on you in the minimap.
That wold prevent you from stealing the bright pink car at the wharf, when it's was a beetle that was parked there

I think a couple ideas to make this work a bit better. Maybe have the hunter cars have specific rims or something to give it away that its a hunter car considering they dont need to go incognito. Maybe also have it so you get a snippet photo (not a full one) of the car in its location so you can at least narrow down if its by a bush or on a specific terrain

Love watching these challenges. I do think you need more information with where the car is. It is a shame a lot of the video is just trying to find the car rather than stealth and steal and chase

Idea for the next one. Each guard must send a picture of their car and give 3 hints based on map location. Instead of using the map and saying "Pink car near Pier".

How are there not five different snipers covering every approach, at least toward the end when there are only one or two vehicles left?
This is such a cool game mode, and a great replacement for Survive the Hunt, I just think it just needs more refinement.

What you should do is a reveal of the remaining cars. Have the guard show you were they placed it.

Even though it's the format I hate the time limit. It hould be dead or complete or make it longer than 48 minutes same with survive the hunt. I'll still watch though lol
