- There are 6 cars dotted around the city of Los Santos, with my goal being to steal as many of them as i can within 24 hours of Gta 5 time, in a gamemode that combines Gone In 60 Seconds with Survive The Hunt.

For those curious about the ending (and a spoiler alert so don't read past here until you have watched the video)
Yes i was correct in what i said, the purple car that i stole was not technically the one i was supposed to. There was a primo custom hidden by the police station that i never did see. Was just an honest mistake from the chaser, who only realised after i had stolen and raced off with their car that a custom looking purple vehicle parked up in the zone where i was supposed to steal a purple car was probably not the cleverest idea haha.

There was also somebody on the roof of the building across the street, above where Alex crossed over to run up the stairs. Had the right angle to start shooting at the side of the car. See 23:31
He also parked up his Phoenix damn near beside a green/yellow chase car and didn't spot a bloody thing! Never even looked to his left!

or the time where he was ON FOOT, going towards the red/white car, COMPLETELY VULNERABLE, while a hunter had pulled up and could have killed him ANY SECOND and he somehow COMPLETELY DIDNT SEE HIM. "If I see someone, I'll shoot him". no you're not, you silly! a car literally pulled up right in the middle of your vision, just before you say that, and you completely ignore it. I just... HOW
and actually he ended up ignoring that very same car at another point in the run again. Idk if Alex is G-Wagon-blind or blacked-out-vehicle-blind, but this is very valuable information for hunters...

The first two times Alex leaves the docks, he steals a grey Phoenix, gets cut off at the exit by a black Zion, then pulls behind a truck in the right lane before overtaking. Did a double take after the second time lol

I really enjoy this series, as much as I survive the hunt. There's more action and less waiting, but the long game of survive the hunt is enjoyable too.
@@TheCoolCucumber Agree. The safe zone effectively halves the tension. You wouldn't miss anything by skipping pretty large amounts of time. Survive the hunt doesn't have this problem. Even in non-action moments everything is on the line. It's great to try out new modes, but everything can't be survive the hunt.
Yeah so uh, my bad this was my cock-up. I only realised just what I'd done after Alex took the purple Saber.
Although, I will say that Dangerman knew what Alex's character looked like the best of us, and still didn't clock Alex when he parked the Zion in front of him to look. So its not 100% my fault, just 98%.

@@tasmany13_70 Nah, that'd be too fast to be allowed in this. I later swapped it out for one with a trailer in the hopes I could become a mobile roadblock near the docks if needed. Unfortunately that one never saw any action.

You didn't fool me and im suprised it fooled Alex :). It had me in doubts cuz the truck is out of place there and thats what i initialy thought. And then towards the final junction before you took a right corner and floored it slightly faster then the car on youre left that was the moment i was sure that the truck was not AI. :) Great episode once again, thanks for making this happen its very enjoyable to follow these series.
Did you ever suspect the gray Phoenix or any of the AI traffic around you to be Alex at that moment?

@Federal Bureau of Investigation tbf we did say don't shoot unless hes in the car, so I did well getting one hit, but yes more vigilance is required.
Your green/yellow car was parked one house up from where Alex parked the Phoenix right? He looked all over but not to his left 😄
Was just about to comment this, got really curious about where those bullets were coming from, I guess something was off to me, and when I went back through the heist scene by scene I just spotted somebody on the roof across the street and started laughing like mad!

I think the one guard designated for the car should have something more than just a pistol. So that he is more of a threat. Therefore Alex can't just run towards the car and jump into it. It would take more time to steal a car, yes, but it would be interesting watching Alex to hunt down the guardian. Currently once the car is stolen Alex has managed to run away every time. That is not as interesting as Alex finding ways how to identify and kill the guard. The guard is currently useless exept for pointing out which car was stolen. So the point of this game mode whould change from "steal the most cars" to "survive while trying to steal cars".

There were Three hunters around. One in the green car right before he pulled up that was most likely on the roof, the purple car that passed right before then that suv shooting.
If we can get a Gone in.. and Survivie the Hunt every month, that would be super.
But we already do get them monthly. Except the gone in series, because
1) it was a new series and alex was seeing if we would enjoy this.
2) it requires a lot of setting up to do.
3) a lot more can go wrong.
4) there is a lot(*A LOT*) of outtakes.
5) they also have a lot more to do for keeping us entertained.

I just don't get it. it's right in the middle of his vision. you see the car pull up right in his vision and then he says "if I see someone I'll shoot him"... no you don't Alex. I don't know if he's G-Wagon-blind or blacked-out-vehicle-blind, but this is very valuable information for the hunters!

@@HazewinDog Tbh I think this video should be less about sneaking and more about rushing in to grab the car, maybe taking out obvious guards. The time limit isn't enough for 6 cars if he's insisting on taking 20 minutes to scout out the first
When Alex deposits the car at the docks, he was the perfect opportunity to change clothes and character appearance.

In the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds", they knew what kind of cars they were going to steal. Maybe in addition to the color you also know what kind of car. That would eliminate the confusion you had on the last purple car.
A photo of each parked car and identifying the location via the background instead of a map location perhaps?

I mean, if that Sabre wasn't the one you were supposed to be stealing, that is 100% on Gliscor, camping out a purple car you're supposed to be stealing in another purple car when you don't know what you're looking for.

tip: Change your outfit every time you leave a car / chase, that way it'll be much harder for them to trace you from inside appearance =D
One possible option would be for the cars to be stolen get left with their lights on - granted, in daytime it wouldn't bee too visible, but in night time he'd be guessing whether it's a hunter camping or the car to steal until he got close enough to look.

I enjoyed the sneakiness in the first car you nicked. Maybe tweak to somehow allow for more of that and less rushing? Perhaps you could have a separate timer for each car, that sets back to 0 when you safely deliver it to the destination?
I like the sneakiness and I like the rushing. Maybe give him an extra 6 hours? 30 hours for 6 cars, 5 hours per car?
Having just re-watched this, an idea if you decide to go Gone in 48 Minutes again: add a spotter to help scout the cars. You can have them either not allowed to fire unless first fired upon, or restrict them to a sniper rifle that needs to be used from at least a full block away (again, unless fired upon), but having a set of eyes could add a layer to the strategy for both you and the hunters/guards, and speed things up as you don't need to try to scout from a distance yourself. No self-respecting heist expert would work solo anyway, so it's more realistic as well

Awesome! I love this series almost as much as a traditional survive the hunt. I would love to see more in the future, possibly with a few twists!

Everybody KNOWS they PURPOSELY waited till the car was nearly done to spring the trap.
EVERYONE knew about that car...even Ford Motor Company themselves acknowledged it...that's how high profile that build was.
They >could've< sent a "cease and desist" WAAAAAYYYYYY back when the build first started gaining traction on UA-cam...but instead they sat back and didn't say squat until the car was pretty much complete.

I swear so many people here just watch Alex’s survive the hunt and now the gone in vids too. And to you I say, go watch his other videos too. While the content in say a gta5 race may not be as enthralling, his commentary makes it just as good, If not sometimes better. He does so many cool vids that just go unnoticed. Especially some of the older stuff like from Daniel and husky’s time.
Loved it! Personally, I would of hauled @$$ to the first car. Then once I was close enough, go back to blending in. And you must have a HUGE TV, because I couldn't see that big Pink Patriot Limo until you were right on top of it. Haha. I LOVED how you were looking at your character from the side, at Junction #2, and didn't even notice he was dancing around. Lol. And when you were going for the Red & White Sabre (or whatever it is), you didn't see the guy in the Black G-Wagon just chilling in the road behind you? Was that a brown trouser moment when the Cement truck creamed you?!?!?!

Suggestion: have all the cars you need to steal failrace approved orange.
Tip for these runs just from a viewer, don't be afraid to gun it more, especially when on the final few grabs.

I can confirm, owning several 60s-70s cars that is typically the case. Unless you have put some decent money into the suspensions, they can be much much better.

I think you were in the clear, with that last car. At the very least because the employer didn't provide you with photos of those cars, since we know for sure that the employer knew what cars he wanted and because there are cameras in the game.
This and survive the hunt are definitely my favorites! I think you should know more than just the color of the cars, maybe not the exact location but the exact model of the vehicle would help prevent this mistakes. And maybe more time too. Or, as Bill Derr already say, in the beginning you should have some time to wonder around trying to check the areas before starting to heist starts. The hunters could be blended in the traffic trying to spot you. Thank you for these greats videos!

At 41:00, you should have taken the yellow and green Phoenix on the other side of the crane. You can drive with reckless abandon, they'll keep confusing you with the hunter that has the similar car!
Love your content! I keep slipping into a (horribly done) British accent and my wife keeps giving me strange looks. I tried to explain "it's these videos I watch, they're great..." I have also been using "Shenanigans" and "Silly Buggers" probably a bit too much and out of context but I just don't care! I like this, it’s like survive the hunt but you have to be a bit more careless, if you want to steal all the cars!
The first giveaway that the first car was being guarded was that when you returned after a drive around the block, the parked cars didn't despawn because of the render distance.
I'd say the last one should count since it was 1: modified, 2: in the right area and 3: the appropriate color and 4: conspicuous. Or at the least give you half a point for taking it the way you did.

Idea: hunters can't have stickers/stripes on their cars, and cars that are to be stolen must have stickers/stripes on them.

When Alex said a bright orang challenger I was thinking about Union Pacific railroad 3985 in a Bright orange southern pacific railroad daylight paint scheme
Possible Rule Tweak: make all target cars the same recognisable colour (Hot Pink or Chrome for example) so they are easier to distinguish? Can still have different models but the same colour
