Thx for this! Especially for your advice on depth of field/choosing your f/t-stop. This is so underrated. "Put the actions in focus and don't nerd out" - well said, man!
I love your pre-vis talk. This is one thing not talked about enough, I think. My mentality is "Fix it in Prep," and I practice it on any project. Quick question, which camera do you use for your pre-vis videos in the example? Because its looking much nicer than Artemis/cadrage!
Couldn’t agree more with that statement. On our previz we use a Sony fx3 with a 24-105 to give us the most flexibility. Sometimes we throw in Cadrage as well just depends on the project.
Great video! Couldn't agree more regarding depth of field. Just because you've got a fast lens doesn't mean that you've got to film wide open all the time. this is even more important on cameras with larger sensors as that focal plane can get razor thin.
@@TenfoldProduction we appreciate you I’m a director by trade but decide to get into being a camera operator to learn more. cut to I have a ronin 4D and now I love it so now I’m trying to learn as much as I can.
I'm literally in the process of working more intentional projects to step into being a DP vs just a videographer. I'm curious, in terms of things like contrast ratio... Where did you begin to learn and apply knowledge like that? Because you had to think of the brand to determine what ratio would be best understanding the ratios to get the desired image and THEN the lights necessary to achieve the look WHILE accommodating for the skin tones of talent. all concisely said in seconds. Is it just more intentional work? I'm trying to figure out how to turn this process into daily tasks I can execute consistently.

Do you color grade or use a colorist? I love the vibrant colors.
tnx for video. what lens do you recommend for the sony fx3, or which one do you use yourself?

What piece of equipment were you using to make the camera rise up like that?
What cine lens do you recommend for the FX3 for commercials
what dolly slider do you guys use? Rented or owned?
hello. may I know do you use manual or auto for focus? thanks
This is so good! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Luke! Appreciate you. If there's any topics you want us to cover in the future, just let us know.
I know that 24fps is more cinematic than 30. For commercials do shoot in 24 or 30fps?
the whole f stop and t stop thing to me is that Constant stop is more important that as super fast lens. tho a fast lens is more flexible
