Inside the Starship 3000 at PNE

- This is me taking a video of the inside of the Starship 3000 (Gravitron for people who used to ride this when they were a kid) normally the average ride time is about 2 minutes 15 seconds but the rideop for this ride when I went onto it made it a lot longer, he made it go for at least 4 minutes 20 seconds and he cranked the speed upto almost 100% of the capacity of it, I wish I could've got a video of the outside when I was in there because it was really moving it in there. Hope you like it and please comment.
I. LOVE. THIS. RIDE!!!!!
This was honestly my favourite ride, it felt so weird when it started flying!
that ride is sooo fun! best ride at the fair!
@Seanschemmelfan that a boy!!! the fair is coming to my town this week! im so pumped to go on this ride!!
i love this ride. awseome no t scary at all soooooooooooooooooooooooo fun
That looks FUN!!!!!!!!!
i love this ride! and it is fun!
i love this ride.
I like the way how the DJ in the middle asked the riders what they would like hear. I went on the centrifuge years ago at Playland when it was called the Gravitron, and the ride operator gave us a mini physics lecture on circular motion and force/counterforce (i.e. centripetal and centrifugal forces). I just went on it again today for the first time in almost a decade and this time, the operator/DJ in the middle didn't say a word...not even safety warnings.
i love this ride :D
ROCK
I went in this one year and me and a couple of my friends were the only people in it and he put it on full speed...it was so fast that we literly could breath...plus it was like 100 degrees in there...IT WAS AWESOME!!
I love this ride :3 Last time I rode/was in it, one guy was holding onto the bars and when we slowed down he fell. xD Some people were upside down...
Dude, I went onto this ride 55 times yesterday and if I were dead or hurt do you think I would be typing this message right now? This is probably the best ride that WCA brings to the PNE every year and always has the longest and best rides that WCA has, take for instance the Fireball, when operated properly it will scare the living daylights out of people, now they're not even allowed to stop the train at the top and can only go one direction.
@ValeriaAlbaa I was 14 years old when I went on a Starship 4000 it is called Devil's Hole. I still had experience on past Starships. Anyway I rode Devil's Hole 75 times in a row. These rides are amazingly fun. You are completely safe don't worry.
Best. Ride. Ever.
@that1kid10 ditto, this is probably the coolest ride they bring to the PNE every year, I do like the Twin Flip but there's something about this one that makes it a lot cooler than the Twin Flip.
I rode this ride so many times, everytime I try it out, I try to push myself off, its painful but a good workout environment :P
you may not believe me but i am the ride operator sitting in the middle. :) glad you enjoyed the ride. absolutly love long rides and making ppl scream
Can you please tell me how to operate the ride PLEASE please!!!!!!!
@pokemonjamster this is at the PNE which is Playland expanded, 17 days at the end of August Playland expands to have exhibits and more rides and attractions.
I rode this 9 times just for the Eminem soundtrack they were playing inside yesterday. I LOVE THIS THING
i cant wait to its summer for i can go back on this ride agin
Yep, they did. I just can't believe they closed down the Miller Drive area where WCA used to put some of their rides ( Starship 2000/3000, 1001 Nachts ), and moved them either to the Celebration Plaza area, or to that corner in Playland near where the Hellevator is. The only reason I think they would do that is because they moved the concert stage to where the motorsports show used to be, and they wanted to use it as a backstage area for the performers ( only thing I can think of ).
@Ayako7Mizuki the guy was running it at full speed so the reason they could've been screaming is because they're not used to having their bodies almost completely crushed by the forces they're feeling.
@Seanschemmelfan definitely worth a try!
This is so much ether at night :D
the starship is AWESOME at night because of all the flickering lights. :)
This ride was so awesome, it has become one of my favorites. I remember first riding it with my little cousin. I was scared at first but it became really FUN. What made it more funner that it was night time & the lights inside were all glowing, etc.
Hell yeah. This ride is ultimate. it's weird how the perspective inside changes over time. It's odd but so cool.
i always hit my head when the seats slide up
I am making my annual visit to the PNE tomorrow and I hope they decided to replace this with Alien Abduction, which is just a more modern version that WCA has that actually has the lights working ( I rode it at Playdome )
you don't feel dizzy until after the ride, depending on the operator that is, you do feel heavy though, namely because of the forces that are being subjected on your body.
Love this ride!!
Everytime on the rides we get, kids climb the glide thingy and sit randomly, no one lays anymore :p
omg there flying :D
Man, I would probably feel so queezy on this ride
@mouselovergirl1234 no this one was taken at PNE in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Ive been there, done that, its not bad at all. In fact, you barely feel a thing except a little pressure like your glued to the wall, and in this case, you kinda are xD without the glue.
i like this ride but it hurts like hell when u go up
@extremehockeyfan sweet!
@cm79ca I am one of the operators for this ride. and it doesnt really matter HOW LONG the ride is run. its either hundreds and hundreds of 2 min rides or a hundred 8 min rides. ALSO keep in mind that the rides get checked by PROFESSIONAL RIDE INSPECTORS from the manufacturing company EVERY TIME we set up the ride. we do thorough inspections EVERY MORNING and lots of paper work before the park even opens to look for such things as cracks and other problems. therefore YOU ARE SAFE! AND ITS FINE
@LittleWolfBindery yeah I went onto it a few times this year and the ride op sucked this year, he didn't say anything, played crappy music whenever I went on, and was nowhere near as fun as this guy was. I hope next year he comes back because he was an amazing ride op for this ride.
Oh, and every time I see this ride, I try to get my best friend to come with me if she's there, and she always says no even though she's never been on/in it before. D:
Brave of you! I would have been a mess in more ways than 1. Great video!
he does spin, but since he's in the middle it's not as bad because the center of gravity is where he's sitting, or something like that, not entirely sure on all the details, but that's kind of the gist of it.
also 8 minutes is completely safe as long as you don't get people who get sick easily that is, take a look at some of the one's in Europe, they operate them at insane speeds and go for in some cases 10 minutes and everyone is fine afterwards.
@CCWSig
In the center there is only 1 g so the drive would just be spinning and maybe feeling a bit dizzy but thats about it.
yeah I know, I went onto this ride last night and tried to get a Night POV of it but unfortunately they were doing some incredibly illegal stuff in there so I couldn't get a video of it, there was 3 operators inside here and 2 of them were running around in the middle of the ride, they're not supposed to do that. btw the name of the song is If We Ever Meet Again by Timbaland featuring Katy Perry, gotta love Shazam don't ya? ;)
@hayhayapple11 kinda , but the scariest one is the tango to me . it's freakin painfull too .
I went on the starship4000for the first time yesterday it was awesome!!!!!
It's like 20 degree's hotter in there than outside.
What is this song called?
@lilreg246 they were screaming, the music was incredibly loud.
yeah, you know you're not too far from the Puyallup Fair they have in I think September, I'm pretty sure that they've got a Starship 2000 at the September Puyallup, it's pretty much all the same ride.
This is my new favorite ride! I tried it today and loved it!!!!!! I went on with 3 of my friends and I was the only one brave enough to slide up the panel! Lol ( we were not allowed to go upside down or sideways)
@ValeriaAlbaa it feels like there's a little pressure on your chest but that's about it.
@ValeriaAlbaa its really fun i go upside down on that ride you dont really feel anything but a little bit of pressure
God, I still remember the first time I rode it...
Me to when I first fell in love with it 🥰
I don't mind it XP
i was on this last night and almost got sick x3
nah they don't have that one as far as I know, I think it's the Starship 3000 they've got again.
I wonder what kind of sensations the operator in the middle experiences. I think the g forces would be minimal, and he wouldn't get dizzy but I dunno would be cool to experience it from the middle
i like space ship i be there like 7 x it relly kool
for some reason i remember it being a little darker inside the one i went on.
LOL I freaked out the first time I went on alone
What song is this? the ride operators for this ride are awesome!!
the reason that the Ring Of Fire wasn't allowed to be brought back was because the rideop didn't properly secure the trains to the top and while he was fixing it up the latch came loose and came crashing into him killing him instantly, I know because I was there the day it happened, luckily it was way before the park even opened up but the entire section was a restricted zone because of the huge mess, it wasn't because of the actual ride it was because of the rideop.
I went on this ride twice today. I felt like I was on LSD 0.0 xD
This is the most unique ride I've ever been on in my life!!!
I wonder what it feels like going upside down but i didnt try because i was afraid to fall, btw this is fun but after the ride you feel very bad (i am really motion sickness) D:
@Seanschemmelfan it was ammmmazing haha
I am never dizzy that might have something to do with my age though because am only 10 In this video it is in day but it is much funner at night
Imagine if it stopped before it was meant to... 3:)
@Seanschemmelfan hahaha than its the best cause you get to see others reactions :D haha do it!
yall quiet on that ride, down here we screamin tryin to put our heads up throwin ish
do you get dizzy after or on the ride
let me guess, Puyallup Fair?
how do you stay up?
its spinning soooo fast that you have like 1% gravity
from the looks of them they're only painted differently and their name's are different, as for directions the address is:
110 9th Ave SW
Puyallup, WA
98371
Hope that helps you.
how did he not drop his camera
@mrfuzz2 I went on it today!
is this at playland or at pne and if the pne were is the pne i live in vancouver and only know of playland
Whats this song
Is the Operator spinning too? Never been on one, but man that operator must get tired of spinning or watching people spin all day.
do you feel anything
alien abduction~
do u feel any thing
incorrect. i am one of the operators and there are no welds connecting the seats to the floor. only the pannels to the wall. and with all the safety features in place...being the wedges, pins, r clips, and aircraft cable around the outside of the roof. if we werent supposed to run it like that then we wouldnt. we know what the ride is capable of. some of us have been in it doing this for 5 years or more
@extremehockeyfan LOL hahaha!
Thumbs up if you hate when it slams you at the top :)
DUDE, DON'T TRY TO LIFT YOUR HEAD XD
uhhhh when o went on the gravitron last year..this woman started to strip as it slowed down and very few adults and mostly teens were on. Well as it slowed and we all started to walk away he.."get back against the wall were going again" I asked him y and he said he didnt want the teens to see her strip
peopl actually scream on this ride? wow
so your not strapped in? Fiesta Italiana. so your not strapped in?
no. theres no gravity for the most part.
techno
when i wnet on a guy was upside down :D thumbs up if same x)
Hoooly fuck
not a good idea with this place, the guy will report you and get you thrown out of the park for that day, too many times and he'll talk to the GM of the park to get you banned from the park indefinitely.
is this scary
I wouldn't call it scary, but it can be a bit nauseating at times, namely because you're spinning at a high velocity, depending on the person it might be scary, if you think spin and puke rides are scary, then yeah it's scary, but if you don't think spin and puke rides are scary, then no it's not scary, personally there's only 3 rides that scare me, Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain because somebody died on it, The Zipper because it feels like it could break apart at any moment, and the Ring Of Fire because at the PNE where they used to have it, a ride operator didn't secure the train properly when doing maintenance and it dislodged while he was on the track and killed him.
no ive been in it it just spins at about 1G's that all. ITS FUN
Salam ???
very awesome
its not scary ounce you get use to it
it just spins so fast you get stuck to the wall
me and a friend of mine went on it and we has alot of fun
