- I finally started to focus on my backwards cross stepping. It's been a long time coming. I tend to spend all of my effort practicing getting to the nose... not getting off of it lol. Enjoy!
Great edit!! Looking good with your backwards cross steps in that last one especially! love the music too adding a lot of hype haha 🤙🤙🤙 yewwww
Thanks Ben! haha messing with the music is my favorite part of the whole process
I enjoy your content, please keep making videos. I can relate to Gilad’s feeling of looking back and seeing your buddy stoke for a good ride.👍
Thanks! will do. Yes, love seeing my buddies get good rides!
Thank you so much for adding your friend and his beginner journey it’s great for me
you got it! yea it’s nice to see improvement of people at different levels. it also shows how hard surfing is to learn
Super baby beginner journey for me (Gilad) good luck and keep with it Gregory
Great video as always. --- Glad you got some good weather and some really clean waves!
Thanks Billy! Yea these were so fun.. if only everyday was like this
They were nice waves!!! I liked the way you check on Gilad (timing 5.25 this vid) by turning around to see where he is. I'm off to the Noosa Longboard Festival with a better understanding of cross stepping so thanks for your hard work. Looking forward to the next vid, yewwwee!
Oh yea you gotta check on your buds when they're on a wave haha! Surfing is such a selfish sport so that adds a little comradery which is one of my favorite aspects of surfing. Have fun at the festival!
Noosa! Can't wait to surf there! It's on my list.
@@billytuchscher Check out a vid on UA-cam called "Cup of tea with god" it shows you all the bays and breaks, I have had a ride up to 1 kilometre in good surf. Then there's Rainbow Bay as well and its pristine sand surf is amazing.
@@lintonpassmore8162 great video! Thanks for the recommendation. I also picked up some video of the 2022 Festival. Great talent there! -- I surf up and down the California coast. Some of the beaks at Noosa remind me of Malibu, Doheny (in Orange County), and San Diego's Swami's.
Go Gilad!!!!!
haha yea bro!🤙
@@LongboardSessions I love your video's bro', I am a begginer as well, I ride a 9' foamy. I am here in LA surfing Surfrider beach.
If you guys in the are, let me know.
@@giladkinori5197 oh awesome! Will do 👍. Is surfrider beach same thing as Malibu ?
Thank you Gilad haha. My Israeli bro from the other side. My Brother lives in Huntington Beach, so I need to find out where you are in relation to that spot...
You and Gilad keep improving. Keep up the good work 🤙🏾
thanks!! will do 🤙
Thank you Sir.Long way to go:)
Your dancing on water progression is inspiring, keep it up 🤙 yew 🤙
awesome thanks! slowly but surely hehe
This looked like such an epic session for you! Really enjoyed this one. Loved Gilad's claim too
Thanks Anthony! Yea this was so fun, we had a great time!
Two steps forward two steps back. For learning the cross step. Foot placement perfect before weight transitions over it. Stay single legged to increase time spent in that weak vulnerable body position. Thus tolerance/proprioceptive awareness improves. You will need to waste waves. Don’t even bother with getting all the way to nose on something over 9 foot.
Them for some waves just get nose time up and do Hawaiian pull outs. Half helicopter. Don’t bail board ever if possible that’s not tradition and would be considered poor surfing even if you got to the nose
The two will meet for some special waves then waves difficulty only goes up with experience
Bjj ready stance the most powerful position. Practice so you don’t fall off when things change.
Ignore nose riding it is a functional move intended to stall the board. Cross stepping not needed pros f don’t bother when it’s critical just a two step flick back and forth. Lots of body lean and nose lift. high on the wave.
Both styles essential for effective safe nose ride surfing in most conditions unless absolutely thumping where nose riding is too dangerous or slow tiny waves where the challenge isn’t there
I do love a noseride when the waves are big though haha! Great points, thanks!
You video showing Rajzman technique made me improve a lot ! Thanks
that’s great to hear! I’m going to try that again next session but hopefully try it more on backside waves
Yewwwww! Nice waves!
Yea these were fun!
Yo, do a kick out tutorial, for ending the ride safely without losing your board !
Good idea !
Agree. I'm a bit greedy sometimes and opt to ride until the wave kicks me off (because it no longer has power or I've made an error) I've been working on the clean finish lately and it's amazing how much more energy efficient my Sessions have become.
How are you recording those rides? Do you have a drone operator?
Yes, my brother in law is the drone pilot (chris the drone pilot... apex drone photography). He's the best!
Loved it man!!!
Which fin did you use?
thanks! true Ames Greenough 4a 10.5”. Atm it’s my favorite fin
