    Just finished hand spreading with shoulder spreader equivalent of 2 tons on a half acre. Thanks for the chore Dave. My wife sees me watching your videos and asks how much this weekend are you spending. So I guess you'll be at farm all weekend. Lol. Love doing it.

    A lime truck is definitely the way to go if you need that much lime and the truck can make it to the area you need it down. I think I'm going to use a lime truck this year on our 2 acre plot and since there will be extra lime I'm going to have him put it in our hay fields to help them out even though they are close to 6.5ph. The cost differential is crazy but for many of my other plots I'm still going to have to use a push spreader and 50# bags of granular lime.

      Lime truck is by far the most efficient way to do it. But for most food plotters a truck can’t get back in there and have to use the bags. Huge price difference like you said

    Is that the agri-fab spreader? If not, which one is it? Good longevity?

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  Рік тому

      Yes it is. It works great if it’s on level ground and it’s not bumpy. Any hills or bumps it can fall over.

    I like the idea of spreading it on snow but if the ground is frozen under that snow won’t it just run off the next warm spell when snow melts?

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  2 роки тому

      If it’s just snow it’s fine. If the top layer is ice then no good I would wait. Obviously if it’s on a hill probably not a good idea all together if there’s any snow

    What are you using when you say you’re spreading micro nutrients?

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  4 роки тому

      Spraying micro nutrients not spreading them. I spray everything with a product called antler grow. You can look here www.antlergrow.com

    My food plot is struggling and I planted late. It’s about 1/4 acre and I put 100lbs on when I planted a month ago but think I should have put a lot more on. Is it okay to put it on when your plants are young or will it harm them?

    How long does battery last on your 4gallon shoulder sprayer or would you suggest the manual one.

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  4 роки тому

      Either one works. I would recommend the battery one 100 percent. It’s more efficient and speeds things up. Honestly I haven’t killed it yet while spraying lol. I believe they say about 60 gallons per battery charge. I spray a ton and haven’t had issues. I always keep it charged as well. Well worth the investment

    Question..First time food plot this up coming year. Do I need to kill off everything first and them lime or can I spread it over what is there now before I start the killing process

    You may have already answered this but can you put lime on a food plot only a few weeks old?

    What brand of lime do you use and where do you get it? I am totally clueless😂

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  2 роки тому

      I use pelletized lime anything I can find doesn’t matter the brand. Tractor supply, any ag store, feed store, Home Depot etc all sell it

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      There is a lot of variances with this. And if you ask 100 people you’ll get 100 different answers. There’s is a lot of different types of lime. Some work better then others and that depends on where it comes from. Changes soil ph also depends on the soil. No soils are the same. Some will react better then others depends on the cat ion exchange of the soil. In my honest opinion they all work the same to a very close point. Ones Easier to spread then others. They all work. Main thing is to just do it when you can.

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  4 роки тому

      BRENT WESTBROOKS we just did a pod cast about this. Most trade shows are dying. It’s a thing of the past. I haven’t been to the ones out mid west like the Iowa deer classic so I can’t give a opinion on that. But I would say the Harrisburg pa show is the best which just passed. The local small ones are dead. We attended 2 of them this past week and every vendor was saying why are we here. If you want you can listen to the pod cast here anchor.fm/whitetailobsession/episodes/Death-of-outdoor-hunting-trade-shows-eb07sk

    You must have a lot of money. How about helping the needy that love to bow hunt but can’t have maker plots

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      I don’t have a lot of money.. I work my ass off everyday and work overtime to pay for this stuff. I do side work and all kinds of stuff to make extra money. I don’t sit around and watch tv.

      Whitetail obsession outdoors I’m a hunter also. I just can’t afford for several different things to do for shooting a deer. When I seen all those bags that you were useing I thought wow!! That would be my only cost there. No further.
      Low income people can’t afford all the things that the pros use on the tv shows or videos. Most of us just suffer threw hunting just hoping and praying for adeer

    • @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors
      @Whitetailobsessionoutdoors  4 роки тому

      scott kern I understand. I’m not a prob tv hunter and don’t want to be. Again I work my ass off to pay for extra things. I save money and cut corners on other stuff. I don’t have cable at my house I don’t watch tv. Gotta work more hours if you want extra things.
