I use prilled lime either dolomite or calcium carbonate ag lime for my vineyard depends on if I need to add magnesium as well if its low and I have to add lime I do Dolomite for the magnesium. Because I have soil that tends to go acidic fast I tend to add lime every fall just to keep it at a good stable ph
Another very informative video especially now that you guys are targeting foodplots great advice regarding nozzle size and removing screens too avoid any blockages can’t wait for the next vid when you guys discuss calibration of herbicides as well as plot dr products
I have pieced together from various websites and videos that the liquid lime and foliar fertilizer as well as the liquid nitrogen and liquid calcium can be sprayed directly onto growing plants. Only remaining question is can i spray the plot dr dry fertilizer product directly onto plants or will it damage them? Id recommend that identifying whether each product can be sprayed directly on plants be added to harper growing solutions website for all products. I wouldve bought more, but wasnt sure.
Regarding the thickness, can I dilute the product more but spray the plot twice? I'm thinking about ease of spraying and keeping the product mixed/ agitated. better.
I think i know the answer but I'm going to adk it anyways. I have a 15 gallon chapin sprayer. It has the separate container for adding whatever you want and it mixes the water and mix as it comes out of the sprayer. Will the plot drs products work out of this sprayer?
It can but also can be difficult. May just have to pre dilute and try to up your gallons per acre of total water. It’s a lot easier with a normal sprayer. But the mix on exit sprayers just take a little playing with to figure out
John, I have looked on line for the .03 spray nozzle for the Fimco sprayers and cannot find them. I guess I'm not all that tech savvy. Do you have a part # for them? Thanks.
@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 Jihn, thanks for the help. I picked some up at tractor supply. I was shocked at the variety of nozzles that they have. Now to calibrate and spray.
On your website for the Liquid Lime you say this product is equivalent to One ton of AG lime & contains approximately 14 pounds of calcium carbonate (the reactive material). What is that in a percentage per 1 Gallon container? I would love to buy some but the shipping charges to Iowa are way to high $27.50 for a 1 Gallon container. Can you hook up with Speedy delivery maybe

This is he most informative, down to earth content about food plots on youtube!
Thanks Mark
Nice info, but can you talk more about for small plots with backpack sprayers, I have a lot of farm land around me, so I only have kill plots thanks
Soon
Awesome info guys! I learned another reason why liquid is better than granular
When spraying established clover plots with plot dr. and foliar can you add clethodum at the same time?
Usually Brad does the herbicides separately
good info!

I just ordered 500 dollars worth of this stuff! Hope I get it soon! Looks like a great product! Thanks for the information!

I’ve always mixed everything together minus herbicides

That may work.
What's the best time in the day to spray? 8 am to 10 am or closer to the evening?
We do mornings

I know he said he does not like to Mix weed killer with the fertilizer, but what is the reason behind it?
One is killing
One is for growing.
You mentioned Agitation. Can you go into some detail about setting up a agitation system to a 25 Gallon ATV rig?
We’ll go over this in alot of detail on the calibration video we will be doing

i asked brad to chime in on this one
part numbers could vary from store to store possibly
Then you can match the style of nozzle you have with one of those

It’s the same shipping to the east side of Michigan, im not gonna pay $26 for a $52 jug!
I do not like using commercial weed killers(Roundup,etc.). Can I still have success with food plots without it?
Yes
We Will be doing a series on our 3 strip system that we don’t need to spray (in most cases) once we get it going.
Brad have any info on apple pear trees? I believe he grows berries and stuff. I was thinking of mixing the foliar and calicum products but not sure
Yes. You can spray fruit trees with the same mix your spraying the plot with. We use all those products in orchards and in the nursery
What happened to the video I was watching the other day? Was there a legal issue talking about “the big white jug”?
No issue
It’s still there.
Lots of companies with liquid products in big white jugs.
How do we email Brad to send our soil test?
I messaged Brad to come answer some questions here
Great videos...one observation...the word is F-O-L-I-A-R not F-O-I-L-A-R. I can see your guest wince every time you say "foilar".
Lol
Brad should have said hey , get it right.
🤣🤣
Pretty low tech out here……🤷🏼♂️
Great info
