Really cool album, Come Down and Machinehead are excellent.
"Little Things" is even better than those 2 great songs IMO.
@@BigUCLAenergyfacts
FACTZ
Y'all should have done machine Head come down glycerine or alien
Sixteen Stone is an epiic album. Maybe not technically grunge, but Bush is definitely a top band of that Era. Several bangers on this album.
Yep, Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase were my gateway albums to. transfer from dorky pre-teen punk to more mature and serious music. They were great.
@@Bones12x2 yes, I played the hell out of both albums throughout the 90’s. Razor blade Suitcase is - in my opinion, about as good as Sixteen Stone. I think they are both amazing albums that capture a specific place and time in my life.
I’d say grunge pop. I know we have a certain idea of pop and a certain idea of grunge, but I really consider this heavy pop/dark pop/grunge pop
I love the fuzzy doing of grunge. In 90, it was fresh.
They are post grunge rock band
The bassline in “Comedown” is iconic.
💯
Come Down, Machinehead, Glycerine, Swallowed and Greedy Fly are all 🔥🔥🔥
Awww man... Swallowed. Thanks for reminding me. 🤘
THIS!!
And "Little Things"
Machinehead by Bush is a must listen!
Bush is amazing. One of the best parts of life is just enjoying Bush… The band goes hard af too.
I feel like this album is timeless. One of the best albums ever made. I love the track little things
Little Things is Incredible!!!
Not quite as timeless as Pearl Jam's "Ten", but yeah, this album is a seminal listen for its time.
First track by them i ever heard
It is a solid album, but one of the best ever made? Come on now.
Facks. The rock radio stations still play this song probably 10+ times a day.
Thnks guys for doing Bush! This album was huge for me while growing up during the 90s. Everything Zen, Machinehead, Comedown, Glycerine, Body, Testosterone, Bomb, Little Things, Alien; Sixteen Stone features many great tunes in a single record, something that not too many artists can accomplish. To think that this was their debut album is simply amazing!
Comedown and machine head for sure. Bush has at least 20 songs you guys will love. Def my favorite band.
Sixteen stone was the first TAPE that I ever bought with my own money 😂❤️❤️👌
Nigel Pulsford played lead on this album and Razorblade suitcase. He's an underrated, really unique lead player and his bends, octaves, and dissonant screaming sounds really were critical to these albums hitting man. So damn catchy. The slide guitar on this song, for example. Agree about the production, but that was the style I think and intentional - for better or for worse.
Absolutely agreed. Incredibly underrated guitar player. Not super flashy or technical, and didn't have that sort of nostalgic soulfulness of someone like Mike McCready - but so inventive and so many really cool textures that add an incredible amount to the band's sound.
I think Bush in general are a really underrated band. The Nirvana comparisons overshadowed so much of their artistry, which is such a shame.
I think he had a hand in production too
Nigel is an amazing guitar player and very creative with solos! Love his guitar tutorial which you can find on UA-cam.
Gavin Rossdale was married to and has kids with Gwen Stefani….Machine head was a HUGE 90’s hit and the guitar riffs are distorted, perfect wording!!!!
One of the greatest albums of all time. Saw them live in 2011. One of the happiest times of my life.
Comedown, Machinehead, Body, Alien. Whole album is a no-skipper for me but these are a few must listen songs
It’s on the their second album but for me their best song is “straight, no chaser”. It’s amazing
Alien the only song I liked when I bought the cd😢
Alien is a great recommendation.
And "Little Things"
A great band from the 90’s to check out is the Toadies. “Possum Kingdom” is a dark , heavy banger. Very underrated band.
Toadies are legends where I live in TX and it catches me off guard when I realize that's not the case worldwide
That is a great tune.
That whole album, Rubberneck, is killer
Gavin Rossdale was always the coolest looking frontman in the 90's on stage. Had it all.
Glycerin live in the rain...
Just badass
Reaction channels have been a thing for awhile now, and it seems like a few huge bands really get overlooked from the grunge era. Bush, Candlebox, and Live should get more shine.
That 60 second promotion for up and coming artists is a great idea! Especially when you place there a band that has a similar sound to the band that's in the actual the reaction video. Great way to connect potential fans to a new act that doesn't have a fan base yet. For me it's difficult to find completely new artists to listen to that are actually good, and I may have just found one. What an awesome sound EMBASSYROWE, excited to hear more!
In the chorus he sounded a bit similar to Chris Cornell imo.
@@jimhooligan3263 I heard that.
Damn this is awesome, I never thought you guys would hit Bush. I think Comedown may be even more your guys' style, but this song rocks too!
They need to check out Machinehead and Glycerine too. As well as The People that we Love.
YES! Comedown! I grew up on this album, I think I was 12 or 13 when it came out. MTV was always on in my house and I saw the video for this track when it was brand new. I immediately went out and bought the CD (or it might have even been a cassette and I got the CD later). To this day, Comedown is still probably my all time favorite track of theirs- Ryan would go absolutely batshit over the "groove" in that track ffs, it's infectious. That said, Sixteen Stone is one of those rare albums that doesn't really have a single bad or skippable track. Machinehead, Glycerine, Little Things...they had so many hits from that one album alone.
Also mouth.
This was my first CD I ever bought when I was 12. It changed me forever and caused me to start playing guitar. I still play today.
Thanks for doing the lyrics at the end, I said in the Say it ain’t so reaction comments that I always found it dope to hear your take on the lyrics
Fantastic album. I ate it, i drank it and i rocked out on it when it was released.
Gavin Rossdale became one of my very fav voices in rock.
Man ! Great throwback ! I'll dust it off again.
I smoked on it too.
Glad you guys liked this. Wouldn’t mind a little Bush marathon.. just maybe a few more songs off this album.
No you were correct...it's distortion...huge element of grunge...this isn't exactly grunge but it's birthed from it
You could maybe call it proto- grunge, if we had to hang a label on it...
@@johngardner4096 it's defined as post-grunge...like bush like fuel like creed like all those 90s after 94/5 bands
Saw Bush with AIC last year! Great show!
The reason you’ve probably heard Busch/Gavin Rosedale’s name before (beside their early success) might also be because Gavin was Married to Gwen Stefani for a long time and got a lot of publicity off that in the media back in the day
What i like about these reaction videos... you can experience the song all over again like the first time.
This album is quintessential 90s for me growing up as a teen - this album is perfect
Reviews like this that remind me why you two are the best at what you do. You make me re-evaluate songs that I have heard so frequently.
They've made me hear so many songs in a different way.
Well said!! So true. I think you nailed it as far as why I fell hard for the reactions of these 2.
Was at a music festival on the Gulfcoast, Bush was headlining, There was a bunch of bands that were suppose to go on prior but there was a weather delay. It was outside and literally a Tropical Depression was rolling in, lightning off the beach, pouring down rain. Gavin comes out on stage. Grabs someone's guitar leans in the mic and says, "Where we come it rains everyday so fuk it" and starts playing Machine Head while the rest of the band comes on stage playing someone else's equipment.
That’s pretty badass. 👍🏼
IMHO it is hard pressed to find a better debut album, almost every track is amazing. You won't be disappointed having the entire album on your playlist! One of my favorite bands of that era!
There are few albums I’ve ever come across that are more of a definitive and memorable statement than Sixteen stone. “Alien” in particular is absolutely amazing.
Seems a tad over the top that statement.
@@syntheticreality549 Alien is such a phenomenal song, and definitely the sleeper of the album. I feel like it was mostly forgotten because of how much bigger the singles were, but its a gorgeous song.
Appetite for destruction, Ten, Facelift, Mechanical Resonance, the first Cars album, the first Boston album, Holy Diver, In the flat field, The Warning, Pretty hate machine, Diary of a madman, To fast for love, Core, Undertow, the first WASP album, are all better debuts imo, but you what you like.
@@MrOctober44 you just mentioned tons of amazing stuff. but sixteen stone stands with those.
You guys will love Machinehead by these guys
I’ve seen Bush live 3 times, and they’re awesome, one of my favorite bands
Still playlist in 2023 ❣️ SO many hits from these guys and they're back on tour ❣️
TAD - Grease Box
Early Seattle Grunge.
☄
That tone was a staple of the era for a lot of bands, it was engineered that way.
Awesome group. Lots of great tracks. Glad you made it to them.
Saw them this past summer at Jones Beach Amphitheater as 3rd to last act on Alice in Chains show & they STILL sounded like the record!!! Amazing!!!!
One thing about the change in intensity of the music that you guys are talking about in alternative--and rock in general--is that it allows for a period of building intensity as the listener anticipates that "wall of sound" to follow. The first time or two that you listen to a song you don't sense that anticipation because you don't know what's coming next. But as you become familiarized with the song that anticipation creates such a tension that you're ready to explode along with the music as it launches you to the heavens.
Machinehead!
Rock on guys!! Thanks for the feature, love Bush and this record🤘🤘
7:38 you both do identical head bops lmao
Ha!
Underrated post!
Great reaction! Glycerine or Machinehead should be your next Bush songs. They have several good ones.
Yeeeah, baby! Good choice. I love this song.
Bush is definitely one of my favorites from back in the wonderful 90s
When I was a kid, I rocked this cassette in my walkman until the batteries ran out (many times)
When you listen to this song it feels like 1994
I wore out 2 copies each of Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase! LOVE BUSH!!
Gotta love 90's rock
Machinehead is still my favorite off this album. Sixteen Stone was a banger when it came out ... rocked this for like a whole year in my teenage years.
To be clear, the Bush lineup for the first four albums (Sixteen stone, razorblade suitcase, science of things and golden state) was Gavin Rossdale vocals and rhythm guitar, Nigel Pulsford lead guitar, Dave Parsons bass, and Robin Goodridge drums. The lineup only changed when the band was reformed in 2010.
Bush is definitely one of the best bands of the 90’s. Comedown is probably one of the best tracks the band has ever done.
The sound of my childhood right here, Rock101 WGIR FM... Bush all day every day in the day... Was a great time to be alive
Bush was one of those bands that I was introduced to early on in my musical journey and I still have a big soft spot for, especially Comedown which is still in my top 5 favorite all time songs. Sixteen Stone is littered with great riffs and hooks, I'm a fan of Gavin's voice as well. Also I'm pretty sure you guys weren't listening to the remastered version or at least it sounded very low bit rate to me. The remaster sounds pretty good and retains that fuzzy wall of sound that I like from that era.
My best friend, Gavin, in high school committed S and this was our favorite band! This band will always reopen that wound, but it also always brings me comfort with the feeling that if he is on the other side that he's letting me know he see's me and that I'll be okay... This band will always hold a special place for me! Great band!
I'm sorry for your loss, there's no doubt that Gavin is watching over you
I saw Bush in concert a couple years ago. I had low expectations. I was impressed on how well they performed live. It really changed my perspective about the band. I would see them again if given the opportunity. I recommend the song “Comeback” for you guys to review.
There was a mini British Invasion when Bush hit. Catherine Wheel, Sponge, Theropy? Amoung others with a similar sound.
I just saw these guys in August of 22. To my surprise, they were really good.
You guys really need to do more of this album, so many great songs.
Machinehead, Glycerine, Comedown, The Sound of Winter
My son left this cd behind when he went to college. It became mine. Yeah, no one listens to CDs anymore. I still have it, though. Loved Bush. The grungy sounds are purposeful, not bad mixing. I also recommend MachineHead.
Bush Always Reminded Me Of A Stone Temple Pilots…Who I Enjoyed Very Much!!
Man I enjoyed that guys… Bush was epic back in the day. Play more, You’ll see…
HEAVY IS THE OCEAN...THE KINGDOM. These will trip yo trigga.
This was the jam back in the day
This whole album is an emotional, hard ass, grundgy, powerful, dynamic, melodic, loose, masterpiece.
Love Bush!!!
I would react to "Comedown" on this same album which I think you would enjoy. I seen bush when they toured with this album and they were extremely entertaining and they sounded just like the CD. I also seen them 3 years ago on the 25th anniversary of this album and they performed every song off this album and they were just as good. His energy was crazy and the band was very loud but crystal clear. Love the entire album.
He's the definition of a Rockstar on stage. It's amazing to witness!
I love Bush even though some of their I don’t know when they are talking about really 🤣🤣🤣. But this album is dope. Glycerine, Come Down, Everything Zen, Little Things, Machine Head… the whole album is just hit after hit.
I'm glad some finally admits to not knowing what they're talking about. I feel like the band doesn't even known what he's singing about. Lol. They were my favorite beside NIN back in the day.
@@SB-pl8fc yeah some of their songs I just have no idea what they’re talking about 😂😂😂. Like “Come Down” some of the lyrics I don’t get what he means… but I know every word and sing it With my whole heart lol
16 Stone is one of my top 3 desert island albums…fight me.. 😘
If you like that soft to loud sound, Dave Grohl took that with him in a number of great Foo Fighter songs. Maybe a revisit of their work?
the lead singer gavin rosdale played a slick ass demon in the movie constantine buddy was also married to gwen stefani so W
This is a really good album. I like all of the songs. Come Down is one of my favorites too.
Senior Year of High School this came out. Everybody loved this record. So damn good.
Love greedy fly by Bush
Loved Bush in the 90's, still do!! I listened to songs like everything zen, glisterine, and the whole razorback suitcase album thousands of times! Great reaction! Plenty more great stuff from Bush as well guys
Heck yes! Just about every song off their first three albums are great. I wore Sixteen Stone out as a 12 year old just getting into this style of music, and its been one of my favorites ever since!
Guys, try to see it once my way. My first concert in 95. These guys and Veruca Salt opening up. Terrific shows!
One of my favorite albums. Definitely check out Little Things, Comedown and Machinehead (also off this album). Bangers.
Bush is a progressive/alternative rock band...Sixteeen Stone was a masterful daybeiw album. They have an intensity about them that I appreciate...their grit and tone is spot-on for what they are trying to accomplish...
I saw Bush live a couple of months ago. They still kick ass and have so many goods songs.
"Comedown" and "Alien" are two also awesome songs from this album
Gavin Rossdale the vocalist of Bush.. has an amazing sexy voice. And is friggin beautiful to this day.. !!! Just sayin :) saw Bush in concert a few years back and they still rock the Grunge!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You guys should really consider doing some longer videos where you listen to entire albums! Like this one FOR SURE. I would watch that on a loop
I saw Bush in 2022 in Raleigh NC with Alice In Chains. They were great. My fave it Come Down. Check that one out!
My favorite song from then has got to be “Little Things”. Top notch “groove” as my man said.
Such an amazing album.
Brings back great memories. It really was a great time for music. Thank you guys. Don't know why but I needed to hear this tonight.🤘
Thanks again.
You guys should check out Comedown. Gonna listen to it after this video.
Unknown Male O1 by Biffy Clyro has movement, and seriously killer riffs, melody and will touch on everything you like in this song but more. One of the biggest Scottish Rock bands of all time with an incredible discography. They are a must for your channel.
I would love to see some reaction channels start doing Biffy clyro
Biffy Clyro reaction would be great!
always loved this band... I remember when they came out Oasis was getting all the hype and attention but this band got mine
hell yeah!°!! i was listening to that album ALL THE TIME back then!!!!!
This was an amazing album. Still listen to it almost 30years later.
Okay y’all this was my jam ❤
Love you guys always looking forward to your videos
Ya'll really gotta check out 'The Warning'. It's a throw back to classic 80, 90s and even 2k era rock but sounds modern without trying to be. Best band in decades.
"DYNAMICS" is the term, soft/loud, clean/distorted,, it became a big part of the Genre...
Glycerine…. One of the best songs ever written and played.
More Bush, boys. Bring it.
After the polished glam rock of the eighties, the nineties brought in raw and real rock. The rawness is what you are picking up on
Little Things, Comedown, Machinehead and Glycerine. ALL great songs from this album! Please react to them!
Just saw them live in Battle Creek MI, Gavin ran up the back rafters while singing one of the songs. Ran right past me in the nosebleed section. Was wild, guys a master performer. The band sounds great live
'Bad' production is a feature of grunge, not a bug.
