Fun in Acapulco is one of my favourite Elvis albums albeit a soundtrack. Marguerita is also one of my favourite Elvis songs. 👍🏽 I realize it’s an album that is easy to pick apart but it’s an album for me that’s just an enjoyable listen- I enjoy the Latin theme of the album.
Agreed. I think they just lazily chose a random Elvis soundtrack, or the one closest to when The Beatles broke through. There were far worse soundtrack albums, like Frankie and Johnny and Double Trouble (both of which I still like). Lazy journalism on display too, as Elvis never actually set foot in Acapulco
Horrible is too strong a word for these albums. In most of these cases, it's more like "not up to the artists' usual standards". Some of these do really suck though. Feel better soon Larry! Tea with honey and lemon will help, plus rest.
I might have or had a few of those albums. I saw Yes live in the early 90’s when I was assigned to the Pentagon (I’m retired USAF). I’ve seen the “Union” album referred to as the “Onion.” It didn’t hold my interest at the time it was released. Thanks much! 🎻🙂😎
Like kiss the elder. Of course I'm biased because I'm a huge kiss fan, but I think it's a great album. Because it was so far from what they had done in the past, I guess it was criticised. Paul Stanley's vocals are incredible on it. You've got to hear it without prejudice. Forget it's a kiss album.
I love Give My Regards To Broadstreet. Worth it just to hear Louis Johnson pounding on his bass in Silly Love Songs. Never Let Me Down was the last one i bought to complete my Bowie cds. I wasn't disappointed. Not his best but do you really expect all his albums to be at genius level?
I like The Who album It's Hard. The title track, Eminence Front, Athena, Cry if You Want, Dangerous, and One at a Time, to me, are all good songs. I think they didn't quite know what a Who album should sound like so the production seems off. Should have just turned it up to eleven. 🤟
The only album I know here is Give My Regards To Broad Street which I owned, being Paul McCartney of course the songs are good but there was no reason to redo already great songs,my guess was Paul didn't have enough new material for the movie,if so then he should have delayed the movie until he did!,also I'm going to check out George's Gone Troppo again Larry,I've heard it but can't remember any of it! Bob
Rolling Stones made a mistake ... at number 11 they put the cover from the compilation "Music for Our Mother Ocean vol. 2" [înstead of the Beach Boys one] .... funds for that album went to help marine wild life and against polution of the seas ... highlights were Pennywise doing a cover of "I get Around", Dick Dale doing a 1997 version of "MIsirlou" and Royal Crown Revue's "Barflies at the Beach" ... but you also had Jewel, Moby, Counting Crows, the Offspring, Sublime and ... the Beach Boys' "Summer in Paradise" ... I guess they got the mix up there ... Anyway, not a bad compilation ... bought it when it came out when I was in college (1997)
That Kiss one would be great for that Does This Album Suck? Larry. It's not terrible, but if you're up for a good laugh, some of it is pretty interesting.
The Who "It's Hard" and Black Sabbath "Forbidden" are the only two on the list that I have owned. Most of "It's Hard" is forgettable besides the title track which is decent and "Eminence Front" which is an awesome song. Would not call it a bad album. "Forbidden" is a good one to be on the list. Don't think I made it through the entire album and regretted purchasing it.
Hi Larry I think what happens is they made so many records that they used up all their good ideas and still needed money or were under contract to make the record or were successful enough that the record company trusted them to make the record and they did a bunch of experiments that didn't work
I wouldn't say that there is a "Horrible" album in the Grateful Dead's discography... just like I wouldn't say that Madonna is a "brilliant" (!!!) artist... "Out of Reach" by Can, "Conquest" by Uriah Heep and "Dirty Work" by The Stones would make my list.
Larry,a follow up on George Harrison's album Gone Troppo,I love That's The Way It Goes but that's about it from this album for me,I think George is trying to be more fun or something on this album but it doesn't work,George Harrison fans might like the album but I don't think it's very good. Bob
@@shaynewest8757 Sounds like you're crying that I described you. Other people decide for you what is good and bad. You should be reading Rolling Stone.
Problem with big artists (particularly to me struck a chord with Neil Young) is there are so many great ones the crappy ones stand out. In addition to what you said about him too that is. I like the McCartney but it was one of my first purchases and not sure I was even familiar with Beatles then. Madonna I stuck my loyalty too far and that wasn't a great one though the one with American pie wasn't good either (music?) I think American pie is her worst record ever imo. Yup interesting bit of reaction series my wife likes reaction videos to to break out of the VC your doing well and this'll prove popular I reckon.
Seems like a solid list and I hate agreeing with the Rolling Stone. I regretted buying It's Hard, although as others have said Eminence Front is a pretty good tune. That's my only familiarity with any of these.
At least they are winning the award for the most clickbait title of the year with this list. "Genuinely Horrible Albums" gotta digest that for a sec, as if horrible wasn't already horrible enough. "By Brilliant Artists" so that's the cream of the cream of the crop. WOW. These are just some not good maybe even bad albums by known artists and for the ones I have heard, I can confirm it. But you find these kinds of releases in every artists catalog as it gets larger. I'm sure you could pick 50 other albums by 50 other artists and get the same kind of list.
I don't consider It's Hard, Changes, or Give My Regards to Broad Street as horrible albums at all. If you want to hear a horrible Lou Reed album. check out Metal Machine Music.
Is it a coincidence that many of the low points in artists catalogues derive from the late 80s? Never let me down (1987) is not a great Bowie record, but it has some good moments interspersed. The who-its hard (1983) is their worst record to date, but still squeezes out "Athena" and "eminence front". Can you assign that a "horrible" label? Horrible by Who standards, maybe. Union by Yes is a mess. Same for mardi gras, horrible by CCR standards, but still has 5 songs I can enjoy. Behind the mask, illustrates how vital Buckingham was to fleetwood macs ability to produce quality songs. No, buckingham, no good.
Its Hard not at the same level of others who album, but can be heard, not excelent but nice. Genesis, the same. Van Morrison is on the list because RS want to put it there, bad "disinformational" boy.
I also think it's a good album. By other, lesser, bands it could be a best album. There's lots of average mid 90s indie rock/post-grunge/Britpop bands who wish they had made an album as good as Pablo Honey. Radiohead just hadn't hit greatness yet.

Feel better, Larry. 🤧

Soap Opera is a great listen

"Out of Reach" by Can, "Conquest" by Uriah Heep and "Dirty Work" by The Stones would make my list.
that queen album must really suck if it beat out hot space for queens worst
man how could they leave off Thing-Fish!
The thing with any studio Grateful Dead album, the songs are good but they are a live band. They always sound better live.
it wouldn’t be rolling stone magazine without a head Up the rear end statement heres 2 any rap and kiss are artist and or brilliant 😵💫please🙏
I’m a bit like you on this list. I haven’t heard most of them but I think that’s a good thing overall
Larry,a follow up on George Harrison's album Gone Troppo,I love That's The Way It Goes but that's about it from this album for me,I think George is trying to be more fun or something on this album but it doesn't work,George Harrison fans might like the album but I don't think it's very good. Bob
I always wonder if we had the money back we paid for the album stinkers 🤔
Chaos and Disorder is for me one of Princes most listenable albums. Just straight ahead songs. Prefer it to Purple Rain any day
R$tone is Big Brother.
KISS a brilliant artist ? But with one horrible album..... critics and magazine are a joke. Overrated sources.
KISS made a lot of great albums. If only people would get over their mob mentality that they were a gimmick band.
@mr.brenman2132 if only Kiss fans would stop crying everytime someone says something negative about their precious little con artist band.
@@shaynewest8757 Sounds like you're crying that I described you. Other people decide for you what is good and bad. You should be reading Rolling Stone.
@mr.brenman2132 and you like men in make up keyboard warrior. Go play with your kiss dolls little girl.
@@shaynewest8757 King Diamond wears makeup. Alice Cooper wears makeup. David Bowie wore makeup. Thank you for proving my point.

_Rolling Stone_ should change its name to _Listicle._
At least they are winning the award for the most clickbait title of the year with this list. "Genuinely Horrible Albums" gotta digest that for a sec, as if horrible wasn't already horrible enough. "By Brilliant Artists" so that's the cream of the cream of the crop. WOW.

Glad to say I've never owned any of these, get well soon
Bad contracts;cause the inevitable. Ill Communication by Beasties cause you cannot understand one wordon the horrible album( xcep sabotage).
I don't consider It's Hard, Changes, or Give My Regards to Broad Street as horrible albums at all. If you want to hear a horrible Lou Reed album. check out Metal Machine Music.
I agree with quite a few of these. St. Anger and Cut the Crap being the worst in my opinion. By the way get well soon! 🙂👍xx.

That Elvis Presley album Fun in Acapulco is bad. And so is the movie.
Ye isn’t even Kanye’s worst album lol. I’d put Donda 2 on that list.
Wild Mood Swings by The Cure should have placed .. a very mediocre affair & career stalling record.
Larry, you sound a little "Dark Hoarse"
Yes, been fighting a cold.
Take care of yourself Larry, the wifey and I just got over having colds
I dont agree with the Van Halen choice, everything theyve done is horrible.
Its Hard not at the same level of others who album, but can be heard, not excelent but nice. Genesis, the same.

Pablo Honey by Radiohead could have been on the list.
I think it's a good album, plus it was their debut.
