Welcome to another channel first. In this video, I take the latest release from Pagani Design, their 40mm case size PD-1661, and make some changes!
Check out my other video review of this watch to see what it was like before, and what I thought of it:

In this video you will see me remove and realign the wonky ceramic bezel insert. You will hear me discuss how I removed the cyclops (as that was wonky too). You will see me guide you through the dismantling of the watch to replace the dial and hands with totally different items (that have usable lume) which really transform the look, for not much money! Finally you will see it on a new strap too, completing the overall look of the new version of this watch I call the Britannia Edition. The improvements were done, so I could see if parts meant for a Seiko would fit this watch perfectly, and they do!
NOTE: it's best practice to remove the crown before removing the movement holder. Not how I did it! Thanks.

what an improvement. I feel that the white dial, was a definite improvement. I would like to see it, w/ the stock bracelet, but I also understand, why you wouldn't want, to repeat the process, if you have no intention of wearing. it I too, do my own watch repairs/modifications. Tedious work, and definitely not, for those who have little patience, or aren't mechanically inclined. Really great presentation, on your part, w/ a step by step breakdown. Very informative, and quite realistic, IMHO. You're a born teacher. Thank you for sharing this process. Seriously, one of the best that I've seen. And I've seen many

Really nice job mate! Love the color scheme you went with. Beauty of a dial as well. I built myself a DLC SKX with hacking/hand winding, a black ceramic YachtMaster bezel insert and double domed sapphire with AR coating and black SKX hands with an original Seiko SKX007 dial. It's a great sense of accomplishment getting jonny'd up and putting together a nice modded piece. 🤣

I grew up in Philadelphia so I have a different view of the meaning of the red, white, and blue. But I LOVE the result. Don’t get me wrong. I am almost 60 and I would have had preferred HRM ER II over every POTUS of my lifetime but I prefer Philly cheesesteaks to cod and chips, although those are REALLY good fries you guys make I must admit.
I cannot thank you enough for the inspiration. I have the PD Daytona and I am totally going to order this PD and see if I can repeat your red, white, and blue conversion because I think it is stunning.

.. I did it! I soaked my Pagani Design in alcohol .. in 15 minutes I managed to get the bezel off .. then I clean off the remaining glue with alcohol-soaked cotton buds

.. can't wait to show off my PD Frankentein to my friends lol

I like your spin on the pagani. I have the same model. It's always good to see new color schemes. I agree that the lume and the bracelet are the areas they obviously cut costs. The movement in mine holds +2 /day consistently. Water resistance is great. Thanks to you, I'll be modding mine in the near future.

Dan, very nice mod and I’m glad that you chose a dial with a logo and some information on it because a completely sterile dial would have made it look like a $5.00 watch picked up in a Sunday market. The watch dial would have looked much nicer with minute markers and the hands are quite unusual but nice and I particularly like the trident second hand.

You can use a plastic bottle cap as a casing cushion. It helps a lot when you’re putting it back in. Plus bottle caps are easy to get. I used one for a year before I bought a proper one. Also you need to do a full 12 hour spin with the hand’s because I have seen issues where an indices hit at 11 o’clock.

I bought a PD-1639 recently. I tried using a torch to remove the cyclops but it wouldn't budge. I ended up popping the crystal out of the watch case. Then I tried heating the cyclops some more, and it still would not move an millimeter. I suspect that the newer crystals are made with the cyclops as one piece. So just perhaps a warning for anyone else to try removing it.

One cautionary remark I would make about polywatch is that you should NEVER use it on a sapphire glass with an anti reflective coating as it will remove that if you’re not exceptionally careful. I once used it to remove damaged AR coating to my Speedmaster after being told you could use it for that. Great … but it also was a BIG warning to say .. keep that sh*t well away from your expensive luxury watches unless you wish to damage your AR coating!
