As the owner of many phones and brands over the years the Pixel and the iPhone have the lowest shutter lag by miles and the new iPhone 12 has nearly caught up with my Pixel 4 XL for portrait. Only two phones I can get a decent photo of my 1 and a half year old! Everything you say is correct as I had to exact same experience with the Note 9/20 ultra and my Z fold 2 and P30 Pro. Great cameras but not for kids.
I thought about it, but pictures of my kids do the best job at displaying the difference, but I don't really want them on UA-cam. Also, I already sold both these phones and am now happy with my Pixel 5. Camera is significantly better than the Pixel 4, but the wide angle lens is more useful than the zoom lens on the 4 in my opinion.

they need to bring this design back for the new pixel, just add the bezel less screen.
if you could make a video with photo comparassions that would be great

Never understood why folk care about video, I totally agree pixels are far more consistent and reliable to capture the magic of life.
Hard to understand why someone can't understand someone enjoying video quality if they themselves appreciate picture quality
18 months is considered a year?? Haha
