AH! This should go down in time as one of the greatest guitar songs ever made! R. Stevie Moore is really up there with Neil Young and Tony Iommi for me as one of my favorite guitarists in the 70's. His playing and tone was so original and amazing. Everybody, check out "Homers" if you haven't yet...
So good! I'm just discovering all of the gold. Thanks for keeping it weird this whole time, Stevie. I feel like all my home recording over the years was not in vain.
un artista extraño increible bebiendo demuchos grupos que para esa epoca eran desfasados segun criterios de subcultura...reimvidicado por ariel pink y otros mas..es como escuchar a brian wilson en fase terminal de drogas
ksjoyjespeace No. In fact, some say it's a toss-up whether El Alien (Daevid Allen) or 'Beefheart was the first psychedelic artist. A few years before R.S.M.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Ariel Pink's music , but it always strikes me as unfair that R. Stevie never experienced any thing like the fame and attention Pink has when he has, lets face it, made an entire career out of basically ripping off RSM's style.
I dunno, I've seen a few interviews that seem to suggest he never made anything out of it, and that he was dejected that he hadn't really been recognised. He said he spent most of his working life in record stores, that's what paid the bills. I think when you release things in quantities of hundreds you're never going to be able to support yourself. Guy is a genius though.
As a 5'5 man I am honored R Stevie Moore would make a song about me
This song is important.

+Blacklava R. Stevie made a living out of it and never had to turn to labels, so in a weird way, you could see him as the real winner.
True, and judging by the interviews I have seen he seems pretty content, which he definitely should be!

I’m really not digging the blackface 😕

Paint on face does not always mean blackface. Especially when considering the context of a rock performer
