You need a bnc cable stripper tool and a bnc crimper that has a stinger crimper. These are not expensive. You want to crimp the stinger cap so it isn't loose and doesn't introduce interference into the cable.
Please forgive me if I'm asking you a stupid question. We have a Sannce DMS 8308 DVR at work and a camera failed a long time ago. A colleague purchased 2 swann hd bullet cameras also a long time ago (too long ago to return). These cameras don't seem to work on this system 🤦🏻. I am good with a soldering iron even on circuit boards, do you think there is a way to resolder the video feed from the board?. Thanks in advance 👍🏻
very simple and helpful. just a quick question if you or anyone experience kindly reply. I am planning to do my own cctv with help from a friend who is good with DIY. I m hoping to add hikvision 3k camera. so coax wire I have got two cable (one u explained) what do I do with the other one? do I need to connect to the cctv if yes what type of connection I need, name of the connector. or just attaching one you just shows is enough for cctv to record and run smoothly with no issue. if that's the case why coax got two wire lol. sorry for dumb question, go easy on me lol first DIY project
I haven't got a video for that yet, will make one. Essentially buy some DC connectors, will need 1x male/ 1x female for each camera. Bare back the copper and screw down in +/- terminals. I hope this helps.
Hi and thanks for the video. What if the cable, like the one I'm having trouble with, doesn't have one solid pin going down the center but instead has a bunch of thin wires twisted together? It's harder to get the center BNC pin to fit on those wires. Does anyone have any advice on how to crimp on the center pin, in that case? Thanks very much.
Here you go, pins come with the connector. Buy a few spare if I was you, so easy to lose the pins! cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/rw1-003-b-zinc/bnc-male-crimp-type-rg59u-zinc/dp/CN15969?mckv=sLgvvrtT0_dc|pcrid|224645161149|kword||match||plid||slid||product|CN15969|pgrid|45968746254|ptaid|pla-891140135454|&CMP=KNC-GUK-CPC-SHOPPING&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7qn1BRDqARIsAKMbHDaxQYQs14cf8iep8NW7GNHVm1r8bvvQQhgzWihUxPM-NuDxN9TgalUaAu-JEALw_wcB

Hi what could I have done wrong for it not to work 😂. It works fine on a normal cable but not on the co-ax I’ve prepared?
Thanks a lot

It sounds like you're referring to a DC plug. You will need a male and a female one. One goes camera end (male) and the other at your PSU.
Thank you
Very Good!!!
Is this realy so you don't have drill massive hole to get the premade up leads and for terminating in weather proof surface boxes
Thanks, perfect video for what I needed.

What happens when you have a stranded centre core, not solid, can you crimp it or do you have to solder it?
good stuff . could you recommend a decent crimper tool or does it not matter too much.
Does this allow for power over cable ?
Hi Josh. Yes but only with a POC (power over coax) compatible camera and DVR. Otherwise you will need a separate DC connection.
Evening, what kind of cable did you use? Can you send me a link
Perfect sir
Where to find this plugs? All the ones I got, are all rubish
Great
good video, very well explained. thanks
That’s good and how about the female one
i like ausi accent
Great video, and now I can repair my RG59. Thank you, you make it look easy.
hello , i have a cctv cable but the inside is not copper but silver and i can't solder why ?
It's most likely a steel conductor cable (not as good as copper). I'm not sure why it can't be soldered.
Seel , coated with copper , You can't solder
How would i add a power conector??

@@smartaerials hi thanks i read what you said n searched for some vids its not as hards as i thought thank you

Haha, my family say that to me. Must be the Irish blood. Could be worse, I have been called Joe Pasquale in the past. :)
Can you please provide a link to purchase the Connectors & PINs?

@@smartaerials Thanks very much, but I don't see on the the website where to locate the pins by themselves?
@@smartaerials yes me too Searching for center pin only for RG59, as i have hundreds of Connectors with lost Pin
You forgot to crimp the center conductor pin

Seem like a nice guy, but you speak too quickly for me. I need subtitles. But I was able to follow quite a bit of the video. Thanks
Sorry I know I speak too fast, will try and slow down in the future.
I've used screw on bnc on my cctv system much easier
