Well made video. Two things :
1) AutoPark as of now is a separate option which you have to choose in the parking lot. Look it up!
2) FSD (for city driving) and Autopilot (Highway driving) are on different stack, but merged into a single software. And the Autopilot (Highway driving) stack is still in 11 point something. So it might not be as well polished as FSD (as of now).

Even in chill mode, the initial acceleration is pretty fast to me tbh
When FSD is on, there is no "Safety Score" reduction.
As others have said, parking in bays is a separate function you have to select.
When you reach a destination like a mall, just take over and park rather than waiting for it as it may just drive around like you experienced.
You can change how assertive it is if you feel uncomfortable with the speeds it drives at.
Overall, this was a nice video showing someone experiencing this new ‘supervised’ release for the first time. We could see you slowly becoming more and more comfortable with it while still experiencing a little trepidation. That’s natural. It’ll take time for most people to feel at ease with this and caution is better than being blasé.
I’m sure that by the end of the trial period, you’ll have a more nuanced impression and be able to give a ‘before and after’ review of your experience.
Bear in mind, there may be another couple of updates in that month so you’ll have first hand experience of now Tesla will be able to make incremental improvements to the software and you can then extrapolate on how this feature will ‘evolve’ over time.

Really good info, thank you! Even since I recorded this video, I've used FSD a bunch more and have more thoughts. It's still pretty incredible, with a side order of janky lol. Might do a follow up video or 2 as I get more experience from it! 🤘🏼
I too am a first time fsds user. I also noticed the extra quick acceleration from stop signs and traffic lights. I tend to drive a little smoother. I don't like how close it gets to cars before applying the brakes. It doesn't leave you enough time to brake in case it makes a mistake. Also, It would be nice if it made lane changes a little smoother when it has a right hand. turn coming up. Trying to merge to the right at the last minute can cause some excitement when their is heavy traffic.
So far, I am really impressed with my first drive with fsds.

It really is!
You can disengage by just pulling the wheel. No need to pull the stock. Also if it messes up and you disengage, you can send a voice note to Tesla by pressing the wheel on the steering wheel to tell them what went wrong. For auto park, you have to disengage and tap the parking icon on a parking spot on your screen.

make sure the settings is to your preference.... as well as the offset and stuff like minimal lane changes, etc
Truth! After this video, I tried the different settings and have left it on assertive cuz lane changing and exiting freeways seems to be a huge issue for FSD 🫨 so much hesitation!
Try putting it on chill mode and see if it helps a bit with the aggressive acceleration for a smoother take off.

If it feels too aggressive to you, there is a setting for that, there is "Relaxed" mode. I think there are three settings, assertive, normal and relaxed. Look in your settings what mode you are in
Thanks! I tried relaxed/chill mode and the initial acceleration after stop lights/stop signs is still rocket launch level lol. Not a huge deal but def a lil unnerving sometimes, esp when speeding towards oncoming traffic, or if someone pulls out in front of you randomly 🫨
I set my mode to chill and the acceleration was still too much.
Look at different settings you have available.
Put it on chill mode and assertive.
Smoother ride, but retains determination.

5:18 Agree....$200/month may be a bit much if you don't drive everyday thru traffic for work or other. For someone who lives in the burbs and works from home for a large percentage of the month, in a walkable area, $200/month for me , does not meet the cost benefit calculation. Maybe another payment structure for drivers with drive habits similar to me would drive buy in.
Agreed, sounds like for you it wouldn't really make sense. I like your idea of like a "pay as your go" pricing model. I might actually go for that if they offered it 👏🏼

Robo taxi would make it worth the price. Perfecting this software is the key. This is thbest AI usage.

All FSD drivers watch the road and their car's actions with MUCH and CONSTANT vigilance. Another modern way to build anxiety.

I can see it being more ponderous based on the amount of extra inputs that multi-lane intersections etc. I wonder if the carts at IKEA not being fully solid might let some of the radar beams through or something so making it get closer. If you are not comfortable with your car acceleration, change the car acceleration profile from "standard" or "sport" to "chill mode". It not an FSD option per say, but has effect on how fast the car accelerates even when FSD is activated.

Take away Beta and change it to Supervised to put the drive to be liable if you use the Beta level 2 software. Tesla FSD is just a dream hype scam and a wishful and hope of hopelessness! To get it to be approved to Level 4 it will need to have geo fencing mapping software like Waymo as all States will require it for level 4 FSD.

lol yeah it does seem kinda wonky tbh, and it pulls some stunts fr. But I could see it being useful for chill road trip driving, small town drives, random stuff. Not sure it’s ready for crowded highways and city streets tho 🫨

After almost 4 years in beta, FSD is a buggy simple minded barely Level 2 driving assistant.
You cannot trust FSD with your life.
I’m actually using FSDV12.3, I can tell you, I’m confident for the first time this will lead to full autonomy. Night and day difference from previous SFD versions.
@@kympp An improvement from 80% to 95% does NOT mean that the system will ever reach 100 percent autonomy.
Ask any scientist or engineer, progress is not necessarily linear.
