Good job on getting your Bissell back in working order! I had the same problem with my Bissell a few years ago. I took that puppy apart, cleaned everything, put it back together and it has worked like a charm since. Since my Bissell rehab, I do one very important thing after every shampoo. I refill the tank with only hot water and a bit of vinegar and take the cleaner out on the sidewalk where I cycle half the water through the base, and the other half through the hand nozzle. My lines stay completely clean and ready to go for the next shampooing project.

Master Craftsman, fellow Ohioan and now Bissell repair man. I can repair anything but your video it save me time. The issues I had found was a collapsed gasket and a pinched hose. Back to restoring a dirt bike and old sled to new for Christmas gifts for a friends sons. Happy Thanksgiving

Great video and motivational inspiration! You gave me some valuable insight to give it a go again with mine this morning. I literally had to clean out the heater by chiseling out the crud ( it was completely full) with a small screwdriver and thought it would work for sure last night. I couldn’t safely get the hoses off the solenoid (thought they would split/break the inlets) so I used a handheld MightyVac pressure/vacuum to clear the lines separately. Then I was able to push water through the heater to verify everything worked properly, with exception of the attachment handle. I used the MV to back feed from the attachment end, alternating between that and running the Bissell to loosen up the clog. If it needs fixed again, I’ll start with the MV at the attachment end and then on the floor nozzles.

Ours did not work until we took the clean water bottle off and turned the collar and raised the handle up and totally extended. We put the water bottle back on, DON’T TOUCH THE TRIGGER YET! Turn on the machine and the water sprayer worked!🎉

Thank you so much Jenny for the EXTREMELY informative video! I just pulled mine out to do some spot cleaning and EXACTLY the same issue as you, nothing happening with the clean water or the soap! 🤯😱
I plopped the clean water top into the sink with hot water 🤷🏼‍♀️ hoping that might fix it LOL and loosen any crud. Then I sat down to google this and my VERY FIRST CLICK was this video and you have the exact model!!! And yours looks just like mine! And I leave the soap jug on and it has soap in it. 🤦🏼‍♀️😬 I'm so glad I'm not alone in doing that BUT I won't be doing that again. LOL
I'm not an imph but I am recently single and I like having a man around to do these jobs. I'm going to put on my Jenny Pantaloons 😉 and start to fix this machine because I can! I'll be honest if you had been a man making this video, I 99% would have dropped it off a vacuum repair shop tomorrow. 🤫🫣 But because you did the same fix I'm comfortable doing it too!! 💪🏼🩷💞👍🏼🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

A little more of a project most would like to tackle, now I see why I find them at thrift so often : ) Seeing the same type of issues. This last one had that crystalized/soap residue like you are flushing. The spinning filter on this similar unit was totally clogged. Was hoping rinsing that out would do the trick but I'm thinking its a bit more complex like yours. I'll likely take it back which is a shame as its otherwise quite clean or used a handful of times. Reminds me of clothing steamer residues from hard water as well.

Having gone through this once, I would be more confident next time for sure. If I was looking to buy/resell something on Facebook marketplace this would probably be a good choice because it’s most likely just gunked up.

All wonderful tips. Thank you for sharing. Maybe also run some white vinegar through the system after a couple uses. This equipment is to expensive to just toss out. Everyone stay safe, happy 😊 and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia.

Linda from Cairns Thank you so much Jenny your video was excellent my carpet cleaner is now working I took it to a repairs in Cairns AU
and they said they can not fix it as they could not get any parts from Bissell and said it was most likely the water pump so I went onto Amazon and they had one I fitted the Water pump but it still wasn't working then I saw your video about the build up in the hoses and cleaned them all out and its working now crazy I know by all accounts Bissell are doing all the repairs them selves and I would have to send it away so as you do I got onto UA-cam Many thanks 😃

Mine hasn't been used in about 12 years. I think I'm just going to give it away. I'm sure it's gummed up from the solution in the tank. My vacuum nozzle in the front, the two pieces of clear plastic, need to be glued because one of them separated.I saw a video of a guy fixing that but I think I'm going to just get rid of this unit.I don't really have much carpet. I'll have to look at your other videos as you have such a pleasant manner..

Hi thanks for sharing. Was wondering how to best disassemble & clean, 2nd hand one I purchased. There are plastic pipettes with a "bladder" that U can fill with water & squirt in but also squeeze this "bladder" to remove gunk. Carried in Hobby shops, Amazon, Wish & Aliexpress, just a thought

Mine one is a Bissell proheat 2x turbo but it looks the same as yours inside. However I have a hard time to open the front cover to assess the heater to check for clogging although I had taken out the bottom 6 front screws and the back screws for the cover of pump and tubes at the back.

If you really clean your carpet by broom sweeping and vacuuming before shampooing, you will really eliminate most of that gunk. I clean my carpet so well before shampooing that the red filter hardly gets anything trapped in it.
Seriously, save yourself from having to go through all that disgusting mess by really deep cleaning your carpet with a broom and vacuum cleaner first.
My Bissell Proheat pet turbo has broken the belt that controls the pump for the water dispenser twice now, I've only had it for one year. I'm going to try to find an after-market brand of belt this time.
But to save yourself from all that gunk cleanup, just clean the carpet better first. Especially if you have pets.
