Glad to hear that you are safe. A couple of weeks ago or so my wife was gone to Las Vagas. We received a dumping of 12+ inches of snow coupled with -10 to -15 degree (Fahrenheit) temperatures and 25+ mph winds. I was alone to try and clear this out and I know what you went through. I had three foot drifts. It is WORK! I also live fairly rural and have to drive 20+ miles to work. The same week our boiler quit working (We have hot water heat), and I was to my wits end. I finally figured out the problem with the boiler and got it running again. Power also went out for extended periods of time, so the pump for the boiler wouldn't run. Your videos have just showed up on my UA-cam suggested, just today (11/10/24). I’ve been watching a few of them and they just relax me. I do not live like this but really wish I did.
I'm laughing so hard! My black cat used to do the same thing to stuffed animals. My Chihuahua would run to me screaming because the cat "borrowed" his teddy bear.
A thought, if when the end of the panels where wiring is gets covered over a problem, turn/install the panels with the wiring towards the bottom of the roof where it's easier to clean off.

On your onboard water tank you can drill a small hole at the desired water level line, run a small hose from there through the outer wall (below the level line). Turn on the fill valve. When water comes out of the hose the tank is full. Shut off the fill valve. You may want to place a bucket under the hose so you don't lose any water.

A propane regulator has a flexible disk inside. On one side of the disk is the regulating mechanism. On other side is a dome shaped chamber with a small hole. This hole allows air to move in and out as the disk moves. If this hole gets blocked (by ice, dirt etc.) the disk cannot move and the flame will do strange things like lighting and then fading. When you have regulator problems in cold weather the first thing to do is get out your hair dryer and warm the regulator to melt the ice... or bring it indoors to warm up. I don't know if Walmart works the same in Canada, but here they have a portable 300W Massimo fold out solar panel for $150USD. Seems like it might be perfect for keeping your EcoFlow River 2 Pro (aka R2P) charged up. You could hang the panel vertically on a South facing outer wall and run the cable inside to power the R2P. I also have a R2P and find I can run my full size fridge/freezer for 11 hours on it. With my 300W panel, I can run the fridge while charging the battery... which means I can run it indefinitely if I can get a few hours of sunshine.
@@gypsyjenna Very cool. Bi-facial panels can be mounted vertically in an east west orientation. This way it catches full sun in the morning, partial sun at noon and full sun again in the evening... resulting in a lot more charging power.

Hi Jenna, First off, I am sorry I complained about that little arctic blast we had last month. I see your struggle is still real. We only have had one shoveling snow fall this winter. Today it got up to about 17c. Warmest day of the new year so far. The bad news is, I have seen the rest of this months forecast and it is supposed to get bad again the second half of this month. Oh well, not much can be done about it. That was a nice breakfast you made for yourself. I scramble my eggs in the bacon grease too.Your wood pile is getting smaller, I hope it gets warmer so you can stretch it out. I hope your diesel heater is still in working order and you can get to the store to get diesel when you need it. Rory seemed to take a liking to your stuffed toy, I wonder what other shenanigans he and Ramsey get into while you're out. Maybe time to set up a few spy cams, LOL. I am happy you saved the octopus from the stove, it can be washed right up. Is that guy on the tractor a neighbor or does the town hire him to clean the roads? He's been busy, that's for sure. Let's hope you don't see him anymore this season, well, at least not plowing snow! Think spring! It's coming, I promise. It always does. Take care and stay safe, Steve.
Winter is my least favorite season on account of being snowed in. Thank goodness we haven't been getting the storms that we use to. But we still get the c-c-cold....I get the blues not seeing the sunshine.

Something else you may or may not need to know about the Ecoflow: The orange charging port is designed to accept the orange XT60i plug. It will also accept the yellow XT60 plug, but will automatically limit the charging rate to 192 watts. They do this because they assume you are charging from a car cigarette lighter socket and the lower charging rate protects the car from blowing fuses... or worse.
Thank you for the video Jenna. You reminded me I need to get a pair of taller boots before our next snow. Snow is one thing but blowing snow with drifts is not good. Better to stay home than chance it. Take care.
At least you have snow, I think we’ve gotten around 4” so far this year in my neck of woods here in NE Ohio. We even had to cancel our snowmobile trip to Michigans UP on 2/17, strange winter for us. Supposed to be 60 F today.
It makes no sense to have spare batteries. I would join all of them together into one big happy family. The battery capacity determines how long you can run your devices before charging. You might have a couple cloudy days you need to power through. If you need a portable battery for whatever reason you have the Ecoflow. I would keep it topped up by plugging it into a 12v car type socket like the one you installed by the bed.
You need your ham lic and little rig for days like that, just a idea that’s what I do to pass time on bad days, stay warm and safe, it’s a balmy 70 deg today with 40-50 mph gusts with snow Sunday! Here in the Ozarks Sw Mo

Every day I learn something new - today it was "shack wacky" - this words made laugh -- being an old merchant mariner i can tell you that we have a comparable "wording" for a similar feeling. But you are a Lady, and i am an old Gentleman -- and the expression is quite colorful - so it is a no no on YT. Have a very good day!
Glad to see you weathered the storm OK. We got about 2.5 feet here, with drifts around 4 feet. Woke up Sat AM to the snow being drifted over the door of my RV and had the joy of digging myself a trench out to move around. Was worried my regulator was going to freeze because it was caked in ice, but it ran like a trooper through the entire storm. Personally...I'd buy a new Octopus and let Rory have the other one! ;) You guys stay safe and looking forward to your next vid.
I love the eggs going into the bacon grease, I make just like that too. Unfortunately I don't get to eat it as often as I'd like 😢. Keep warm by the 🔥.
If a squirrel is getting inside your trailer so is a lot of cold air. And possibly rats or mice. You don't want them for house guests especially if they begin building a nest. You should have a small active hobby to go to when you feel too house-bound, something which needs at least a little movement; that will help keep the wintertime blues away. There's bunches of things you can do on the cheap. I'm quite a bit 'hermit' by nature but even I don't like being cooped up for more than several days in a row, and I have some hobbies (other than internet browsing) to go to when I'm tired of looking at the screen. Books are good if I don't feel like being active which happens more at my age than it used to! Should the budget allow, you might find a 4m collapsible painter's pole handy- the threads are the same as most brooms etc. That will make panel clearing easier and safer, and collapsed it's 2m which makes it handy for many other things. Get a thick one, the thin ones are only good for painting. Not much snow ever where I live, but one trick I did learn is that you want the drive wheels of your car to first go over where your car kept the snow at bay; ie FWD car you first reverse half a car length then go forward with a little momentum as you'll have traction. Clear a bit behind the car first. Guessing you've got 3 weeks of wood left so next year add more; a pile on the ground covered with a tarp to be used first then on to what's in the shed. Winter ain't forever even when it feels like it is so hang in there!
One way I find safe for cutting kindling, is place the axe head onto the piece of wood, then all at once strike it (picking up the piece of wood and everything with your hand). That way you are not playing russian roulette with your fingers. The head will bite into the wood, and you can then just pick up the axe and the piece of wood and strike it again with your hands away. Give it a try.

If your water transfer pump draws 140 watts or less you can plug it into a cigarette lighter type socket instead of hauling a big battery around.
Great breakfast! You are doing well nice and warm inside with terrific wood heat !
I just found your channel. I'm so glad I did. I live like this in central Oregon.
At least you have snow, I think we’ve gotten around 4” so far this year in my neck of woods here in NE Ohio. We even had to cancel our snowmobile trip to Michigans UP on 2/17, strange winter for us. Supposed to be 60 F today.
Snowbound Jenna . Nice warm cabin fever days. The adventure continues on the catio.
Definitely make sure to put your eggshells in your compost! You need a good mix of greens and browns and eggshells are one of the best browns!
Good Morning Jenna another great show delicious breakfast stay warm
Johno Darwin NT 🍺

There you go again cooking them good meals ,I have to cook outdoors my county is on a ant hill ,Great video spring is on its way. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
Oh wow all that snow! Never been in or seen snow in reality i know it can be dangerous and alot of shovelin but it looks beautiful just found your channel 🥶🤍❄️ from Australia 🦘 North only two seasons.
All I could think of is a nice cup of 3-Alarm hot chili! Do Canadians love Chili as much as us Texans do? We also like to make Potato soup.
I am sooooo glad our snow and freezing temperatures are gone and 60F degrees today. Snow is beautiful but not a big fan of single diget temperatures.
I have been lucky in southern Indiana we have had beautiful weather into the 50’s and 60’s been out on the Harley for about 10 days in a row. Keep up the great videos!
Enjoy those Harley rides! 🏍
You need a snow blower. :-) Hope the squirrel doesn't chew anything vital. Breakfast did look really good. Thanks for sharing.
traccadie nova scotia near causway to cape breton...in a snow belt...it was bad..just the roof of my car was showing,,,,shoveld it out and by mornning just roof showing again...was stuck in cabin bungalo thing sort of house for 4 days and shoveld every day for 6 hours just to get the fire wood from barn....got to work hard for cheaper heat....
Dang, yes you guys had that storm bad over there!
Mr. Squirrel says “ you messed up my house…I’m going to move into your house 🤣” I’m thinking that roasted squirrel 🐿️ may be on the menu if he doesn’t take it down the road 🤙🏻. Take care of yourself, another awesome video
I’ve seen show in my city 3 times in my life and that was enough for me, I don’t know who you do it but big ups to you chick
Hi, found your channel and love your house. It's what I want to do with my RV except I've got slide outs so cover will be wider and longer. Am retired a wife and kids gone (wife, we lost battle with cancer). Kids have their own life
Tough to go outside when all you see is snow , bummer I live in Florida and don't like cold weather or snow . I really enjoy your channel
Enjoy that warm weather! ☺️
Those eggs looked tasty. Stay warm!
Personally...I'd buy a new Octopus and let Rory have the other one! ;)
You guys stay safe and looking forward to your next vid.
Stay warm and safe and thank you!
Love your channel!
Stay safe n warm. Loves ya videos
The Great White North........yes I'm a 71 yr old Second City fan.......you make survival look easy.......
Give it a try.
wondered how u would be when I saw the forecast for east coast. Here is a bit crazy supposed to be 12 degrees cel. tomorrow
Wind power it appears would be nice and thank goodness you r in a tree shelter. If you get to town maybe a 24 for the holdout future. nice to see you and the gang are well. "Keep on Cooglin"
Thanks for the update. Now, I'm cold and it is a sunny 52 F here, or 11 C for the smarter folks to the north.
BALMY 🌡
@@gypsyjenna I occasionally comment on UA-cam videos but rarely get a response. Thanks for responding. I like the connection.
@sahoyte you're welcome!
Holy Shiznik Gypsy Jenna! That place looks beautiful! I live in northwest Ohio and it looks and feels like spring outside here. Im not ready for winter to go bye-bye😢. Anywho, great video as always! That omelet was impressive. It sounds like your driveway isnt the only thing getting plowed out there! 🐙 Lol. Sorry. Im kind of dirty. Have a wonderdul weekend and please keep putting out these great videos!!
Hi Jenna. Snow looks fun out there from here. You can have it! 🤭 when it’s cold 🥶 stay warm even if one gets a little “cabin fever”. Breakfast looked like brunch to me. 🍽️ so where’s the hot ☕️ coffee or tea? Maybe your cat needs a furry friend to hang out with? Go sledding or even better winter fishing 🎣 sometime! ✌️
Winter stinks can't wait for spring.
Your lucky not to have the snow as I’m sure you know others got down your way. Nothing left here now in barrie Ontario.
Thanks for the smiles !!!
I'm definitely hooked to your channel beautiful woman off grid living braving and the extreme Eastern Snow Cold Storms
77 blue skies today. I’m sending you a few degrees 😃be safe👊🏼I give you tons of credit Jenna, you are nails! I see a 4x4 truck in your future 😁
You are the best snow relocation service person I know, good job. Should I give you the nick name of Chef Jenna for making that tasty breakfast and other meals you put together? Staying home it that weather is the best. Stay warm and safe and have a wonderful day.
Thank you and I don't deserve the Chef title! Haha. I'm just a "Foodie" lol
Good book reading weather! Take care jenna
That breakfast looked amazing ❤
First time I seen a snow devil 🤔 . Nice videos .thanks
Stay safe and warm enjoy the weather!!
Shack Whacky! Lol! That's a term I understand far too well! Even your fur babies are feeling it and your octopus may never be the same 😬I hope things have improved for you weather wise. It sucks being a babysitter to the wood stove and not being able to see fellow humans 💞
Yes it sure does, that's why I get so excited for summer, more freedom! 😄
Stay warm there!
I love spring time!❤
Same lol
Love your cats,they have character!
I love how you Canadians Say "Out".
Us down in Maine say things weird too. It's Cool.
I thought bacon was round in Canada?😂😉
Tip: To keep critters out you can put cat hair underneath after you brush them.
I have tried it. I think the critters just use it as nesting material, 🤣😂
Hang in there, spring is a coming!
Why, 4 seasons and snow is good
