Put some winter windshield washer fluid in a spray bottle for ice on the windows and look into a snow broom for your solar panels.
Oh and change the battery in your temp sensor.

Until you can tear apart your dash to fix the blend door control cable, put on the A/C (assuming that it works) and full heat at the same time. The A/C will pull the moisture out of the interior. When you use A/C, you want the setting on recirculate. When you aren't using A/C, you always want it NOT on recirc, or else the interior will begin to fog up.
If the car is parked, warming up without a body inside breathing out moisture, you can put it on recirc, it will warm up faster by not drawing in outside fresh air, but as soon as you hop in to go, flip it back to fresh (turn off recirc).
Running the A/C periodically in the winter is good for the entire A/C system, keeps the seals from drying out and shrinking, leading to loss of the gas.
And like another follower commented, don't try to pull the dash plastic parts open in cold weather, you'll regret it. If absolutely necessary, warm the car up to tropical temp first, or wait until warmer weather.

BE careful if your taking the dash apart ,in the winter time, the plastic is even more brittle and easier to break, I lived in the northern parts of the country for years, A 4 wheel drive truck is a huge advantage ,we had snow so deep my wife's car would get stuck just trying to get out of the driveway because of all the snow underneath,so I always had her drive my truck in snowy months because she was stuck so often at her work and couldn't get home. I would recommend one even if it's a used one if you could find one for a reasonable price ,just for the 6 months of possible snow and for an emergencyin case you have trouble and need to get out but can't in your car.

Might need a new weather station. Or put some insulation around the battery compartment to help keep the AA batteries a little warmer, maybe. Wishing you a super wonderful Christmas. Stay warm and safe.

Enjoyed your video Jenna. Those soft boiled eggs looked good in the ramen. Take care.

Another tip: put your eggs in a vegetable steamer and sit in a pan with a little water and steam them. They peel like a charm every time.

I have a weather station in my cabin similar to yours, different brand. It does the same, the outside will drop out, read - - in winter. Its done this several times for three years, changed the batteries, moved it closer., still nothing. Then out of no where it will start working again. Mine still works good, had it for four years.

Funny I have a Toyota matrix also but instead of worrying about it freezing I have to worry about it melting out here in Arizona lol. I keep the oil change and hopefully it'll last forever like my Tacoma with 230,000 miles. Where are you live Reminds me of when I lived in Western Pennsylvania with the lake effect snow. Oh I have a gray tabby also lol his name is Jack he's outside right now hopefully a coyote doesn't get him but he insists. nice on the Ramen I need to make some of that good idea!

Want a better garlic experience? Remove the green part (aka garlic sprout) of the clove. It removes any bitterness. Try it!

I had that problem with vents in my nissan truck. 14.95 i got a dc ( cig.lighter ) powered defrost/heater. It heats up almost immediately, after defrosting my windshield. I turn it around or toss in floor board for extra heat! The fan on bottom does make a draft pulling in cold air to make heated air. My only complaint!
Makes a great shoe or boot dryer also. 😂 it also has fan setting w no heat. I hope this helps anyone having a heat / defrost problem. Note: ive had mine 5-6 years, price could be hi or lower now in 2024.

Great video, As to your Weather station, I have had to replace the outdoor sensor at least three times over the last ten years. They just fail after a certain amount of time. I purchased my replacement outdoor sensors on Amazon. I think I paid 15 bucks the last time.

I just watched some of your videos - You really are my kind of Gal, thank god this is the internet or I'd be in love. 🤣
In any case your set up is pretty cool and fair play - not many people in North America seem to be able to drive a 5 speed.
Also been a while since I've been across the pond in Canada but the A-dubz definitely makes a decent burger. Better than Maccas anyway.
