Here’s a tip: I recommend using a custom made foam background because it’s more versatile to match your tank, but any background works and it’s mostly just aesthetic (unless your using one of those cheap and horrible backgrounds) I also recommend the reptifogger because it works really well, but you would have to put it on a timer since it doesn’t come with one. I recommend the Arcadia shadedweller uvb light since crested geckos do NOT need uvb, but they do much better and tend to be more happy with it.

They are starting to make really nice LED lights that have full spectrum uv so you dont have to have two different lights. But I highly recommend using a uvb meter because they put out extremely high levels.

I went out got a daylight led bulb to replace the cfl uv bulb i had and goddamn, its been three days and ive already noticed the plants are growing like Crazy. Im letting it establish before i put in my crested Gecko so this is perfect. Thanks for the advice bro. I was close to getting an Arcadia forest dweller but decided to go with this option. I eventually plan to get everything Arcadia but once i have my final set up. Once again thanks and keep up the great work

Dude! I used exactly what you told me to do, soil and play sand and it plugged up my beautiful bearded dragon, all she did was lick the sand. (1 Gal of sand per 40lbs of top soil) ((expensive $$$ vet bill))
Was she eating or licking? They lick things that are new to see what it is very normal. If she was eating then she definitely has a deficiency in vitamins or calcium as they will try to get the vitamins from the ground this is called geophagy.
can you use a coil UVB for crested geckos? the reason I`m asking is you said for leopard geckos that coil UVB is okay and you are useing the same 7% you use for leopard gekos on your crested gecko.

I have a couple questions about the enclosure itself 1. I see in your description you have a link to a 64 gallon tall, but I’m wondering if a 30 gallon tall (18x18x24) is ok for an adult. As I’ve been doing research and a lot of people say that is good 2. If that size is ok, I’ve seen a 30 gallon tall on Amazon that is cheaper than the rest but it has 3 solid sides where you can’t see through, is that better then a completely see through tank?
Is it required I get a background? My habitat doesn’t have one, and I don’t think I can get one for my habitat, since it is a screened one, but it does have a good couple hiding places, some sticks to climb on, and fake plants since I can’t really do real plants right now. My crested gecko is already chilling in the habitat anyways, so itd be hard to do anything now, but I just want to know just incase I could be doing something better

no self promo but we have pretty bulletproof bins if you care to read this! make sure you have a hydration area of spghanum moss, use a mix of potting soil & reptisoil or even ecoearth add in grinded up egg shells for calcium add cork bark and bam :) it’s about that easy! goodluck!

Depends. Leopard gecko and crested geckos are not active as much during the day and if you want something you’ll see out more then I’d go bearded dragon

@@ChiefSweetsUniverse yes, thats true. sadly, that is true. basically they abuse all of their animals, sometimes not feeding them or giving them water, throwing multiple reptiles in one small unsanitized container. when they get sick they let them sit and die instead of treating them. sometimes the beardies will fight for food and bite limbs off.

PETA (an organization that tries to stop animal abuse) did an investigation. in one of the videos the employees would open the milk cartons with knives. often times accidentally cutting reptiles/frogs. the supervisors do not care about the animals health at all. i genuinely dont understand how mack hasnt been put in cuffs. who knows how many animals have lost their lives to that evil man. if you want to look further into the stuff go to the PETA channel. VERY upsetting these reptiles continue to be abused by supervisors and employees. most of all to blame is mack. he’s the one paying those people.

Yeah the 23 watt is just stronger uvb. The one I recommend for 30 gallons is a Arcadia shadedweller 7%

With the shadedweller it is safe as the uvb output is relatively low even if they were under it it’s not extremely strong through most mesh screen.
