Need tactical help with your SSN vs a SSBN boomer escorted by two other SSNs? Watch me take on "Stalking the Red Bear" single mission as a Los Angeles-class (aka 688) SSN.

We loaded 1 decoy and went silent running plus deployed the towed array. Seems we do have quite a bit of water under us. However, there was also a bit of ice above us...
We went up and down a little to test the iceberg's depth, when S1 pinged us on active. As we're indeed within detection threshold, I ordered everything launched, including the decoy against S1, which is identified as Sierra-class. Just as S1 launched multiple torpedoes against us.
S2 showed up, which was identified as Typhoon-class.
One torpedo killed S1, and the other 2 went after Typhoon, while I made a tactical mistake and turned 180, trying to cut between the torpedoes, when I should have just gone straight heading 300 or so.
S3 showed up, another Sierra class. But it seemed I had a bead on the Typhoon with my torpedoes.
Our first decoy had drawn off multiple torpedoes, so I only had to deal with two, then I made a mistake and almost got caught by the 2nd torpedo. I had to expend another MOSS decoy shot toward west-southwest hoping to draw off another torpedo while I dodged 2nd torp, and fortunately it started circling shallow among the ice and I was able to go deep and evade.
Of my other two torpedoes, I think I may have gotten one hit on the Typhoon, but it is still going. I launched two more torpedoes, followed by a third, after I was certain that circling torpedo wasn't coming deep.
The first two chased after the Typhoon which has a flank speed of 23 kt, so it won't get away from the torpedoes, even in transit mode of 35 kt. So, it did something unexpected... it turned and went hovering... then went straight up... right under the ice without touching it. Then the S3 Sierra charged in, tried to decoy both away. One torpedo did go after S3, and sank it after a bit of a chase.
The other torpedo circled and flushed the Typhoon out of hiding, and may have gotten a hit. I then sent the final active torpedo after the Typhoon, and after a bit of wandering about, got another hit on it and sank it, completing the clean sweep.

There were many different factors discussed, from how to position your submarine, to how to read sensor panels. How to set activation points with torpedo, and how to dogleg. How to conduct baffle attacks and how to consider approach angles to optimize sensors. How to locate enemies...

Kinda wish we could see other views then just the tactical map

Well, I tried to keep to tacmap view as that's the primary view we "fight" in. But I understand it doesn't look as Hollywood-y as some of the other CW videos. :) Let me see what I can do...
