Very cool. I’ve shot various air guns since the early 70’s as a kid. Everyone had the old Daisy BB rifle, and I couldn’t wait to get a real pellet gun. Never got one because by the age of 18, I had a couple pistols and rifles. Pellet guns for me sort of fell by the wayside and I wasn’t interested in “toy guns” anymore. My dad passed away in Canada in 2016 and I flew up there from Hawaii to deal with this depressing ordeal. My dad was my best friend. Always has been. I told the Canadian border agent that I would be in Canada for three months or so, while I fixed up the house and sold it. (I had no intention of ever leaving Canada and stayed 3 and a half years in dad’s old house.) Vancouver Island is beautiful and I was tired of Hawaii after 35 years of living there. I applied for Canadian citizenship but that meant I would have to go back to the states for 6 months while they did the paperwork. I knew I’d be rejected because of my age. The Canadian government doesn’t want a 52 year old American construction worker who’s not rich, and won’t live long enough to be of much use to them. So I just stayed illegally. Screw them. But I had a house and a huge back yard and missed shooting. Firearms are really hard to come by in Canada and communicating with the Canadian government was stupid at this point, so I got a Stoger air rifle in .22 cal. It came with a perfectly usable scope and me and a few friends had fun shooting it in my backyard range. The law up there is, any air-rifle over 500 fps is considered a deadly weapon and needs a license. Well, I’m again, not communicating with the government and my Stoger was advertised at 450 fps. Out the door with no paperwork. But I was hooked on pellet guns now. The ammo is cheap, you can do it in the yard, and they’re super accurate now. I sold dad’s house since money was running low and as soon as I did that, the government would steal the house and deport me. So I sold it to my neighbor and hopped a train to Washington. (Basically deported myself) And now here, I bought a couple pistols but going to the range is a real pain in the ass and super crowded and expensive. That’s why I’m watching videos on air guns. Researching air guns, I don’t want CO2 crap and nothing I need a scuba tank to charge. A simple break-barrel .22 is what I want and this Gamo 10x fusion is what I’m getting. It’s way better than my old Stoger single shot and I really like the style of your videos. Just to the point and sort of scientific yet humble. None of the cocky soldiers of fortune style crap, just a really cool guy having fun on his porch. Just subscribed and I promise I’ll never write another comment this long on your channel sir. Aloha from Washington. 🤙🏼
Sean, you post made my day. I am stoked that my videos have reach you in a positive way. I will get back to some break barrel action soon. The GAMO Fusion Gen3i is a great rifle and a lot of fun to shoot. Thank again for your post and I really enjoyed reading all of it. If I'm ever in Washington, I will look you up and we can go shooting! :-)
@@backyardairguns , Thanks man. I’m really looking forward to getting the Fusion in the next couple weeks. Hopefully I’ll get some good shooting in before the weather here gets too nasty to want to be outside. Headed off to work now. Great channel and keep the videos coming. 🤙🏼
Well, I got my Fusion 3i .22 in directly from Gamo USA which means I paid more for it at $293 plus shipping but it wasn’t available locally so who cares. I got it, and I’m happy. I had it sent to my workplace since receiving parcels at my apartment is just stupid. UPS, Fed Ex, Amazon, or the plain old mailman can’t get in the building so they just leave packages in the open lobby as if it won’t get stolen by anyone walking by. So it arrived at work and of course the boss wanted to see it. He’s super cool and has a Gamo air rifle of his own. An older single shot .177 break barrel so he was interested in the magazine technology. I fought the urge to mount the scope and just shoot it right there. I wanted to get it home and take my time mounting and zeroing without any distractions. So I did that. The scope was pretty well on at 25 yards or so, and I left it alone for now. The back alley downtown isn’t conducive to an accurate zeroing drill on paper so I shot a couple cans off a fence and got the hell out of there before someone called the cops or I was surrounded by crackheads. I work on the barge docks in Seattle and we have acres of private property on the waterfront where I can take my time and zero the scope to tits on. Took a couple shots in my apartment and everything mechanically is working fine. The magazine is really cool. No more fumbling around for a pellet on every shot and this gun is way more powerful and accurate than my old Stoeger was right out of the box. Can’t wait to get out and do some fun plinking with it this weekend. Thanks again for the video on this rifle and I’m really happy I got this one. Aloha from Seattle! 🤙🏼
Great job with the video, not complicated and easy to follow. One pellet I have discovered shoots extremely well out of my viper is a very over looked pellet for the 10x lineup. Try out the 19grn Crosman premier ultra heavy pellets. You'll be amazed and glad you did. Thanks for this one, can't wait for the next!
Thanks for the positive comments. I think my next Gamo video will be on the Swarm Evo 10X Gen3i 22 Cal. I picked it up on sale on the Gamo website about a month ago for $169. That's a great price for a Gen3i if the rifle shoots like the other Gamo rifles. I order a tin of the 19g Crosman pellets. I will try them on the next review.
Great shooting Mike! 3 very good pellets for sure! My Gamo's like the 14g to 18g pellets too. My Bone Collector loves the New USA made Benjamin precision 14.3g getting clover leaf groups at 40 yards/ Maybe try a tin of those?
All 3 pellets did great. The dead centers were stacked except for fliers that may or may not be user. You say effort to cock is not bad, but is it teen/petite individual friendly? Definitely solid gun though, I don't own any (yet) but I have enjoyed every Gamo i have shot. Thanks for the video, looking forward to additional editions.
Thanks Papa for the encouraging comments! I'm sure the off-shots not stacked were me. :-) I think a mis-sized teen boy(15+) could cock this rifle with no issue. The key for me is to rest the stock of the rifle on something solid and pull down from the top of the barrel to get the most leverage.
It depends on what you are using the rifle for. The Magnum is more powerful and would do more damage when hunting. But, it is a lot more difficult to cock than the others. It is not a rifle I would recommend plinking in the backyard all day at targets. The Fusion is not as powerful as the Magnum but will still dispatch birds and squirrels. It is easier to cock and it is accurate and a great backyard plinker.
Hey Matt, the only difference that I know of between Gen2 and Gen3i is the Gen3i rifles and mags will Not let you double load a pellet. The "i" in Gen3i stands for inertia fed. Other than that, I believe they are the same.

Would you recommend the fusion or magnum?

What is the name of your rifle bench rest.
It is a Caldwell Stinger Rest - I bought on Amazon for about $100. Below is the Amazon link:

@@backyardairguns Thanks
Only 631fps?!
Correct - the break barrel rifles are not as powerful as the PCP rifles, and there is really no way to "tune" them up other than cocking the barrel.
I was wondering about that too! Makes me wonder if it is good enough for tree rats 🤔
I have the gen 2 what the difference between the gen 2 and 3?
Hey Matt, the only difference that I know of between Gen2 and Gen3i is the Gen3i rifles and mags will Not let you double load a pellet. The "i" in Gen3i stands for inertia fed. Other than that, I believe they are the same.
Gen 2 also has open sights gen 3 doesnt
1st. Seems overpriced by about a hundred bones. Good video though. 👍
True, no iron sights, bad trigger, bad seals out of the box, toy quality plastic, worst scope ever😂, bad piston design. Not worth it
The Gamo break barrel rifles are unbreakable and shoot great for me. What air rifle would you recommend in the $240 price range?
@@backyardairguns I dig the gun. I just think they're all overpriced. I have one too.
I just bought the GAMO Evo Gen3i 22 Cal for $169 off the GAMO site when it was on sale. I will post a video review on that rifle in a couple of weeks. Thanks for watching. :-)
