whats the DB?
Good review thanks thinking about buying one!
Thanks so much for the 6.46mm diameter info! I accidentally got the 6.35mm and they were way too loose in the magazine for my Huben GK1 25 Cal. They still fired really well and penetrated like CRAZY, but they jam when you try to rotate the magazine yourself. I'll give the 6.46mm a shot, literally. 😆
Just a thought because I find this interesting. When dealing with firearms & body armor/ armor plating speed seems to be the "winner" (with the appropriate projectile) I am wondering if it is similar with air rifles. For instance: what would happen if you took a 40 grain slug fired it into your penetration box then everything being the same, the rifle, the tune, the air pressure, the distance, the same brand of slug but instead 40 grain you use a 34 grain. In my mind I'm thinking it should go just as far. I understand the 40 grain has more weight behind it but the 34 grain will be traveling faster. Essentially what you end up with is the same FPE (at short distances) but I am wondering if one will go a little further or if they will go the same exact distance... I mean you could do it 34 grain versus a 27 grain or even a 25 grain versus a 23 grain
Just ordered.mine. Been ha. Ving a tough time choosing which one to get cause there are so many good pcps.. But there aren't many pistols that have a lot of power and there's still considerably a pistol. There is the m fifty but has a bolt action instead of semi. I've been told to use 253-254 slugs. Got nsa,254,36grn
9:00 The barrel mount moves away from the central pivot point and the group widens. A bag at the mid point of gun (under mag mechanism) seems works best
Must have missed part 2 🤷♂️
Happy Thanksgiving. Be well.
You too Amado!
Sheesh that yoko is loud!!!!
It's not too bad. But without it, it's crazy loud.
@ I have 5 or 6 moderator for my gk1…. Yoko is gonna be my last one… quietest so far is the hugget sniper
I seen your vids on the forum. Ive had a gk1 since they came out. Good videos bro. Appreciate the time and effort David
I appreciate it David!
whats the max energy can you get out of .22 cal version then?
I'm not sure on the 22 Cal.
Saving my dinero up for this pistol. No more purchases until this one hits my channel.🤠🇺🇸
You will love this PCP pistol!
Were those NSA 61.5 the .300 or .303 slugs?
They were NSA .300 in 61.5g.
Meant to ask to, this was part 3 and I saw part 1, what happened to part 2 . Thanks
I'm still editing Part 2. Part 2 focuses on pellet accuracy using JBS, JTS, and AEA pellets.
Great, pretty anxious to see. Thanks for sharing!
Love you intro music, very nice / informative video. Keep em coming!
Thanks Kurt. I have at least two more videos coming on the GK1.
Nice video, very informative. Curious your thoughts on power / pellet weights. Wouldn’t it make more sense to use a lighter pellet and turn down the power some to increase shot count , does that make sense. I have one of these in .22, have not shot it much, but I will be getting a speed loader from you, Thanks for sharing.
The Speed Loaders works really well on this pistol. As for weight... yes, you can use lighter pellets and turn the power down to get more shots. I like the power. :-)
🦾🦾👍 thank you !
What up Lead! :-)
@@backyardairguns hey Mike 🙌🏻, such a great idea for magazine speed loading you had , if I get a gk1 I will definitely buy a magazine speed loader man 👍
Awesome pcp but I can't stop the slow leaking. It held pressure when I got it from the store and I left it in it's case for about a month. When I started shooting it, I never came below 150 bar so no harm there, but it started to slowly leak at some point. I opened it up today for the 3th time in 2 months and cleaned everything and replaced all the o-rings. Now it's filled up again. It drains about 400 bar a week and I have no clue where from. I even tried soapy water . . . fingers crossed 😉
My Huben GK1 25 caliber I was able to punch through a 2x4 with 34 gr JSB and heavier slugs. I also shot through two 1" pine boards with the H&N hornet. This PCP is amazing. Have a good day everyone.
@@jessicasmith957 I have the slug mold from Gregor at home so I re-use all the lead I can find in the trap. Some are slugs are 48 grains, others are 51 grains and they all fly like a laser at 50 meters. This is an awesome little 'tool', but as soon as they start to leak mweehhh it becomes problematic especially when they leak so slow that you only see it when you wait 24 hours.
Agree - This thing Thumps
Okay I'm a noobie so I'm uninformed but curious--what fps/fpe would you be at to have consistent output given its not reg? I'm sure it's ammo dependant so say given whatever rounds you've found it likes?
We love noobies. I have several more videos coming out on what this pistol like to shoot. Because it is not regulated, every shot will drop in fps and fpe. so you will never get a consistent shot string from this pistol. However, it still shoots accurate at falling speeds. For example, I can shoot 17 rounds, which is what the magazine hold, and all of them be very accurate. I shoot the heavier 34g pellets from AEA, JTS, and JSB. I have a slug video coming out for the GK1. The GK1 is very slug picky.
Don't point the loaded gun at yourself and don't snap that lever close like that, it is known to break if not closed gently.
Thanks
Rifle? It looks like a pistol.
Do a test with the altaros 50 gr i see there
I have a entire video on shooting slugs in the GK1. Altaros is the only slug I found that does not jam this pistol. The GK1 is extremely slug picky. The slugs need to be 6.46 in diameter to cycle correctly. Altaros makes 6.46 slugs in 25 cal and they shoot amazing in the GK1.
@backyardairguns please post part 2! Cant wait to see what 50 grain can do!
My homeboy Kelly @Krazcool for anything Huben
He is da man!
@@backyardairguns yes sir he is. One thing i appreciate about my K1 and GK1 among many, is the fact if i break it or it just goes south on me i have a place to get it taken care of. Kelly is greatly appreciated by me. Have a good one brother. David
Evanex rex p .50cal, Aea .50 Max pistol. There are a lot of big bore, low cost PCP pistols out there. Their about $600 a piece laying down over 100+ fpe
I have the AEA 50 MAX and T9 357 pistol on my list to acquire and do a review on.
That's no comparison. The Rex is a single shot and the AEA Max pistol is a bolt action. Also, both are not really pistol sized especially the Max. You can empty the GK1 (17 rounds) in a few seconds. Other brands have still a long way to go before they can match the GK1. The Bintac T9 is a nice semi auto alternative, but hardly a pistol.
@jbhk7977 he said most powerful pistol. It's not. These are also air pistols, pretty comparable
damn after moderator its still109 db is still stupid loud thats still not backyard frriendly at all!!!!!!!!
The 109 db is at the muzzle. It falls to 94 db 20 yards away in my backyard, and in the 80s one backyard over.
@@backyardairguns still and barra 250z without moderator its 91 db right next to me and its still super loud to me so i had to put buck rail moderator ( $40 ) and it dropped to 80 db and you have no idea how much quieter and its finally back yard friendly
No way to get that much air power out of a short barrel and have it be very quiet.
so 67FPE is what you get max out from this right not 80 fpe
This pistol will shoot 80 fpe using slugs. I have the slug video on the GK1 coming soon.
@@backyardairguns thats sickkkkk but i wished they were regulated and still be able to shoot 80 fpe for minimum 1 full mag then i will buy it!!!!!
Great video and great idea on the speed loader. I’m planning on getting a GK1 pistol soon, so I’ll be taking a closer look at your accessory for sure. Be well.
Thanks Eitan. I have two more videos coming out this GK1. One on the best slug to use, and another on pellet accuracy. This pistol is really fun to shoot.
@ I like to remind myself that I’m a prepper first, an air gun enthusiast second. This p.c.p. checks both boxes. It’s powerful, accurate, well built and Huben makes a 5000 p.s.i. hand pump that could fill it in a bug out scenario; let alone the fine quality options available to convert it into a pistol/carbine.
@@eitangrinspon1637 All good points - I have a Power Test video coming soon on this pistol and it demonstrates what 80 fpe can do. 🙂
@@backyardairguns Looking forward to it very much. I’m also interested in figuring out the best slug weight, in case I want all 17 available shots (38 grain?).
@@eitangrinspon1637 This thing is extremely slug picky. You need to run slugs that have 6.46 diameter. Most slugs in 25 cal have a 6.35 diameter and they slide in the chamber and cause the pistol to jam. The best (and only so far) slug that works great in the GK1 is the Altaros ATP Smooth Slug in 50 or 51g that are 6.46 diameter. I have a video explaining this coming soon.
You keep calling it a rifle it's not a rifle it's a pcp pistol!!!
I'm used to doing reviews on rifles. :-)
How many decibels with the yoko?
94
@ not on high power tho right.. maybe 2 turns in
That was on high power (10 Turns) and 20 yards from the pistol.
I can’t get ten turns out my gk1 only 3
@@Tom-jw1pe My bad. I was filming a review on the AEA Gen2 and the hammer spring takes 13 turns to go to full power. The GK1 will only turn 3.25 times. I had it maxed out at 3+ turns.
Thanks for the video. 😊
Great video that's definitely a powerful AIR pistol!
What scope are you using
DNT Optics Theone 7-35X56 FFP Riflescope with Illuminated TOR Reticle, Zero Stop & 34mm Tube - Long Range Precision Scope $599 on Amazon amzn.to/4eM4ILb
What’s that bottom rail and where can I get one?
Hi Colin - I make and sell those rails. I use them on all my AEA Challenger Pro and Challenger Elite rifles. Go to my website at www.backyardairguns.com
Mike, do you think it's better a 60 gr or 70 gr cast slug for Challenger Pro 30? Thanks for all useful answers.
I think 60g slugs would shoot better in the 30 cal Long Barrel because the speed (fps) will be higher.
@backyardairguns ok, however out of 24" generation 1 70 gr can be the best?
Hi Mike, thanks for all the valuable inputs. 1) Better 60gr or 70gr slug for Challenger Pro 30 24" generation 1? .303? I mean 70 gr is not too heavy for the rifle? I plan to order an Accurate Mold to cast myself. 2) You got 115-118 FPS, however some UA-camr got 130 and even more FPS with NSA slugs, either 61.5 or 65.5. Asking myself why. Shooting gear UA-camr usually does not touch regulator. A Challenger Pro 30 gen 1 factory settings gave 130 FPS with Mrhollowpoint 70 gr slugs that are .302 or .303: diameter matters?
Hi Antonino - I think 60g slugs would shoot better than 70g slugs from the Challenger Pro 30 Cal because they would go faster. I think 70g is too heavy for 30 cal short barrel Challenger Pro.
What settings on reg and hammer spring did you use?
I have the heavy hammer spring installed and the Reg is set to 200 Bar.
Wow. That’s pushing it :)
Do you know if these will single load into original challenger sl .357 will they fit?
I don't have an original Challenger SL in 357 Cal. I know they will single load into the Challenger PRO 357 and the Challenger Elite 357.
Wow Amazeing !!!! I also love that music.
Thanks Bonita! :-)
Very much looking forward to testing the performance of the .58 caliber
This rifle will let you quickly swap barrels. I will get the .58 caliber barrel when it comes out and test it.
@@backyardairguns Thank you so much bro, I look forward to seeing you test the .58 caliber👍
The notos is really good at shooting at even 50 yards it really like jsb 18 grain pellets
I'm capped at 30 yards in my backyard. Thanks for the heads up on the JSB 18g.
@ no problem it’s kinda insane that the notos can shoot at 50 yards considering the barrel I so short
What do you think the real gun equivalent of this air rifle is
This rifle was doing 600 fpe with the reg at 220 bar. Some folks have cranked the reg up and get close to 900 fpe. Based on that, the rifle has more energy than a 9mm and 45 pistol. But less energy that a .223 / 5.56 rifle.
Subbed. I'd love to see this gun vs urban and benjiman marauder/pistol
Thanks for being a fan. The Notos is so fun to shoot! I want to get the Zelos next and test. I have some videos coming soon on the Huben GK1 PCP pistol.
Wow. Verr nice…. Verr nice! Slugs, not drugs.
Thanks :-)

Excellent review as always!!!
I appreciate that
Airgun--militia , You must have a chrony to know 950-fps x110grain= 220fpe my aea pro .30 cal std barrel will not shoot slugs that hard , at 195-Bar or 200 ! If you have the long barrel version maybe , you can achieve that velocity , and that is something to talk about ! If you zero range @ 40-yards you would have 203 fpe/911fps and at 100-yards is 181-fpe/860 fps with a drop of 8.75" if you have accomplished this let me know - --and I will talk to Mike @Backyard Air guns about the long barrel AEA PROFESSIONAL engineering services, to see if this can be done in a safe manner without to big of a Hammer ----thx, WildBill
220 fpe from a 30 Cal Challenger Pro is something I've never seen. I think you would have to open the reg all the way up (well past 200 bar) to get near to that. Sound like a challenge. 😁
Fantastic ‘adjustment’ to long range shooting, sir! Skills are on point showing what MCAR can do. Impressive. I guess I gotta have one.
Thank you Sam. We took this rifle to EBR in Phoenix and won 1st place in Big Bore. You got to get this rifle. :-)
