I bought one 4 years ago. Beat the crap out of it. Over 2k miles on original chain, belt, suspension. Still fun and reliable. And I’m convinced the battery hasn’t lost a step. Or at least I can’t notice.
I built a $10,000 LBX build slowly over the last 3 years and I couldnt have done it without Charged. These guys know what they’re doing and were clear and fair.
Most people with built Light Bee’s couldn’t be much happier. They are lightweight, handle great, and the options are nearly endless. Glad you are enjoying yours.
Great overview, CCW. I love my rattly Talaria but the Ultra Bee is such a well-built, thought-out bike right out of the box. Glad to have both. Need to do a frame up, extended swing arm LBX with you guys one day.
Spot on 👍 I still love my Surron and the fact you have all the aftermarket parts and service is huge. I made the mistake of buying one of those off brands directly from the china manufacturer. There’s no service and no parts when it broke I was shit out of luck took me forever to find someone to fix it.
A Storm Bee almost won Virginia City Grand Prix if they had another battery. I have my Light Bee MX the very first Light Bee and I've been racing it for a long time. Literally every part but the frame is aftermarket now. I regularly podium racing against supermoto minibikes. I've broken this bike so many times I have a youtube playlist dedicated to whenever I break it. The beauty of the Light Bee is it might not be the most durable bike but the parts are easy to find now and easy to replace. Tons of aftermarket parts to make it stronger and faster. Wish I had the monies for an Ultra because I sunk it all into the Light Bee.
Geometry. They nailed the geometry and the rear linkage design. If the suspension is upgraded, they handle even better. We own all bikes to constantly test the products we sell and almost everyone prefers the Surron from a steering feel perspective.
My exact same thought process and set of conclusions...which is why I ultimately decided to build two surrons, with a bunch of parts from you guys. I have learned a lot from your videos and experience. You guys rock. Now, all I need is a battery and controller for my Ultra, so I can get more range and POWA. Not an inexpensive affair but you really can't compare gas bikes to a built electric bike, that is properly setup and has maximum range. Gassers are fun but ebikes are better for me in many ways, and so much easier to ride and maintain.
My charger on my ultra bee is getting replaced no questions asked internal break in the cable from the charger to the bike. New one will be here next week.
I predict surron will ride the wave of their current pricing scheme as long as possible, then and it might be soon, compete on pricing and hurt competition. Surron has the most capacity the ability to produce bikes for cheaper than anyone else. Once surrons retail for 2.5k then it’s over
They should do a customizable shop, you get to the site choose frame, motor, battery, wheels and tires, components and so on. They would kill the second hand market and offer a better product to the end consumer
A lot of good points were made here in favor of Surron. That said, I got turned down by the Florida DOT even though I had turn signals brake lights, MCO and receipt. The reason they give me was that the ultra bee is for off-road use, and the ntsa has it listed as off-road only. I had to go through dirt legal for my ultra bee.
They really don’t. We’re hopeful for the Arctic Leopard EX800 but it has to be compared to a modded UB bc of the price. The Freeride never took off bc, although the power and suspension are good, the range is just terrible. No one really knows what’s happening w the Dragon bc of Talaria’s problems behind the scenes. For now, the Ultra Bee wins in a category of its own.
The scene is like that because these things with a warranty gro. Surron are over $6k. That's used car/truck/SUV/motorcycle prices for something that's essentially a dirt bike.

My bike came out surprisingly better than I expected .and his advice has been valuable. Kudos to CCW they rock !! BTW NATE < lol my bad has my second Battery pillow block come in yet ?
So glade i went with surron been so much fun i dont think i will ever make a transition one way or another probably gonna mix gas and haul ass long as i can
I would buy it because it actually looks more like a bike than anything else, which in turn makes you feel legal almost everywhere) which is not possible on older models😜
I see no reason to buy anything other than an E-Ride Pro SS 2.0 at the moment. The three biggest, most expensive upgrades you can make are already done and it's only a $300-400 price difference. Everything is else is personal like handlebars, footpegs, seats, grips, wheel size, tire pattern, etc...
Love my Ultra Bee, struggling on how much I should upgrade it until maybe a Varg would have been a better choice given the power and quality suspension. I never rode dirt bikes in the past, ex mountain biker, so love the peace of an e-bike and the light weight of the Ultra. My challenge is when I take it to the MX track with my son. I've put a 21" front wheel on it with MX33's front/rear for tires. Suspension is lacking for the track so this is an obvious upgrade. If I can get away with stock power then I think it is still a great buy but if I go to a new controller and battery then I'm at the price of a Varg. It's a dilemma I do not (yet) have an answer for.
We have struggled with the same. After owning both bikes for a while now, Nate prefers his built UB and Brian prefers his Varg. One option might be to let us tune your forks and add a controller to get your power up to 16kw on the OEM battery. It’s not a Varg, but it’s 50lbs lighter and it’ll be more enjoyable off track.
Hello, guys rob from Vancouver, Canada. Love your videos. Can you do a headlight shoot out? Which is the best headlight? Just an idea for the next video LO.L
A lot of competitor bikes in the market these days with specs that out weigh the surron brand. So this year has been a large debate for most people on what bike to get
I watched the channel non-stop last month, I wanted so so much to buy a Surron. Today I went to a testing camp to test one. Right after 5 minutes I slipped on wet grass. My knee is out, surgery coming, 5 months of bed and therapy estimated. Good luck you boys, hope you will not loose your arms, feet or worse. These are NOT toys. Praying for your safety 🙏
As a new buyer would your team get a Surron Light Bee, Talaria Sting or a E Ride Pro SS. I have been watching all channels and yours is by far the most informative. I am a bigger guy 6'2" 250lbs and want to get my throttle therapy.
The obvious answer for your size is an Ultra Bee. It’s taller, stronger, and has more moto feeling suspension and brakes. If you want to stick with the small bikes, power and range should be your top priorities so you can enjoy the bike on day one and not feel the immediate need to add a controller and aftermarket battery. Everything else like suspension, brakes, wheels, etc are fairly universal and can be added later if needed. Call the shop and ask for Nate. He’ll give you much more detail.
Could you guys please review the solar e clipse e bike. I really enjoy your style of breaking down a bike. They have a new race edition being released early July.
@@ChargedCycleWorks That is disappointing, I guess they thought the liability was too high. Guess I will need to do some soldering on my own like I did for the light bee.
I love my Sting R MX4 but I'd like to try a Light Bee someday. The jackshaft and belt are really the only downsides as far as I'm concerned. Why doesn't Surron come out with a gearbox? It ain't rocket science ...
There’s a reason all other bike brands go with a belt. The Talaria gearbox has more problems than you think and our service department replaces them more often than we want. We sell the gearboxes on our store and they sell out all the time. That knocking that you might hear on your bike is a combination of the gearbox teeth loosening and binding. That doesn’t happen with a belt. If strength is the goal, a chain drive conversion fixes all reliability issues. We think this might be why so many Talaria owners are coming back to the Surron brand.
I’m sorry I know this is about Surron but can you elaborate on the process of registering an E-ride pro for street use as a commuter? I know each state is different but does the E-ride come with everything you need to register it?
We are currently working with the DMV to create a process on solving this issue.. Really lame that laws have been creating with no clear guidance and structure so we are trying our hardest to get this figured out and inform everyone currently.
Can anyone advise if you can setup a lightbee size bike to comfortably ride standing up? (looking at a VentusOne). But I just wanted to know if you can ride one comfortably for long distances if you put bar risers etc? I have a few gas enduro bikes already but wanted something small, playful and quiet.
That explains why Talaria didn't respond to my email request for a manufacturers certificate of origin for our XXX and Sting R MX4. We could get off road trail stickers in Montana if I had an MCO for each bike. I was excited to possibly purchase a Talaria Dragon soon but now I'll give the ultra bee another look when I find a carbon black edition. Great informative video guys!!
An ultra bee may be a better option, but if you want a small playful mountain bike with a throttle you can always accessorize and make the light bee a little bit larger
in europe if it goes 45 km you can legally ride it we need more little e bike like the bee X but like in 125cc than we can ride the road there are a lot little people who wanna drive bigg e bikes
Consider the age and how abused it is, then balance that with the price. X260’s and LBX’s are basically the same bike but the Segway partnership/branding exercise ended a while ago, so finding a new X260 would be rare and may have sat in the box for well over a year now, which would be bad for the battery.
@@Dreamsmall1234 no they aren't do your fucking research. The sting r with a properly tuned controller is better though be it slightly its still better.
