I enjoyed that video very much. Back in 1989 I got permission to ride in the control cab of a VIA rdc on a train from Halifax NS to Sidney NS .Enjoyed every minute of the trip!!!!!
Many years ago, I was a technician with CN Telecommunications. Back in the mid 70s, when I was based in Capreol, Ontario, I often road freights. Back then, I had a work pass that got me on anything that moved over the rails. I also had a service pass that got me on any CN passenger service, though on a couple of occasions, I was allowed on CP trains. My first time in the cab was when I left Kapuskasing on the train. It was CN track as far as Cochrane. At Cochrane, I had to go back to my roomette, as from Cochrance to North Bay was over Ontario Northland and not CN. This meant I was just an ordinary passenger for that part of the trip and my pass didn't get me anything. I frequently road freights between Capreol and Armstrong, sometimes in the engine and others in the caboose, or van as the crews called it. On one occasion, I even road on a gas car. In addition to my work trips, I used my service pass on trips across the country, all the way from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island and on CN ferries and buses, as well as trains. Back then, I was on passenger trains so often, the conductors stopped asking me for my pass.

I got to ride in the VIA Rail cad back in the 90's. Don't think you are alowed anymore......I did a CN Rail freight too.
Nop! unless you know someone willing to pull a few strings even then it's unlikely.
@@BizarreAdventuresUA-cam after 9/11 everything changed. You can't even go in an aircraft cabin
On board, I think you meant.
Why to just Armdale and back?
So how bored was the engineer? 😆
He was so bored...
Via No 15
"I was asked not to reveal their names" but you show their faces at the very beginning 🤦🏻♂️
both have retired a few years ago, doesn't matter anyway!
...on bored? on bord? or on board?
Don't forget "luring about the past", and "drivering the train"
