Today's lesson is a follow up on how to solo over minor 251s. Which scale approaches do you prefer?

I really like the A harmonic minor !
As for the melodic minor scales, my ear is not use to it yet…

Great lesson Andy!. I am primarily at the "use of chord tones and Arpeggio's" point at this stage of my soloing ideas. :) I found the point about looking for the closest chord tone at the changes very helpful Your depth of knowledge on this subject really shows getting into all the "scale and substitution options". Like you said that knowledge is likely a life long endeavor for most. I did not look but suspect you have done something like this for a major II V I ? I got that CD off to you in the mail yesterday. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get to you. Thanks Andy, Best Wishes!

Thanks Bill, I will look forward to receiving it! Yes I have covered the 251 back in September 2019. Similar videos to the ones I've made on the minor 251.

Fabulous! My 5-year plan has just become clearer. Very good stuff. It will require tons of investment of work to get not only the arpeggios and scales under my fingers, but the multiple octaves, various locations on the fretboard and multiple starting points within them, ...for each. Thanks for the incredibly clear and lucid presentation.

It does take time, just don't forget that despite all of the geometry of the fretboard an arpeggio is just four notes (in most chords) and the sound is just repeating across the fretboard. The ear training is the crucial part to get.
