I love how in a lot of his songs the lyrics don’t follow a natural count, they still seem to flow but they also disrupt the idea the listener has in their mind of when a verse will stop. It’s amazing
Once Evan described Pinegrove as a mix of Americana and math rock. That’s probably a good description of why he’s off the beaten path with time signatures. It’s one of my favorite elements of their music!

Reminds me of walking down the street in the backroads of Olympia, Washington. Nobody else around, the sun shining through the tall evergreens and a spring rain. Just breathing and not feeling like I had to make a choice about anything except just breathing and existing.

One of the many things I love about Pinegrove. ❤️ This video depicts exactly what the words are trying to say. I’m glad they did it this way! The end will be better despite our challenges.
