Not actually my fastest 15 second test (see: i.imgur.com/RU2sh24.png ). I stopped caring about the 1 minute tests because I'm just not very good at it. I have trouble reading and coordinating my fingers, which is why I like dictations more 😅. Monkey Type's timed tests aren't really a good measure of how good you are at steno, anyway, since the only way to be good at them is with higher strokes per minute (finger speed). Still fun to see how fast my fingers can move in bursts 😛. The quote was really good as it had briefs for long words and phrases: - S-G → "something" - THR-S → "there is" - KPWR-RPB → "you understand"* - TKEUFRT → "different" *From my phrasing system: github.com/aerickt/aerick-phrasing
Ben Vallack! I love your videos btw. Are you interested in learning steno? It's quite ergonomic and extremely fast. You can get started on the keyboard you've shown in your videos like the Planck, corne, or even the moonlander. Or, of course, you can use a dedicated keyboard like the splitography (in the video) or the Uni (keyboard I am currently running a Kickstarter on). Feel free to reach out if you'd like a collaboration :)
There are a few systems right now: github.com/merlinvn/plover_vietneo github.com/openstenoproject/plover/discussions/1312 github.com/aerickt/plover_viet The last two are the ones that are most complete. I'd probably recommend user202729 as it's basically tested and proven to be able to write at 80 words per minute and faster with it. The last one (mine) isn't very good. I've only been able to get up to 60 words per minute so far (at about one stroke per second). The biggest issue with my system is that many of the chords are quite awkward to stroke.
