Space Engineers: Escape From Mars (Episode 1) - How Did We Survive?! (Feat. Kanajashi)

- Welcome to Space Engineers Escape From Mars! In this workshop scenario, we've crash landed on the surface of Mars. With limited resources, our task is to survive at all costs. So survive we will! But I'm not alone. This time, we're joined by Kanajashi! With our combined survival instincts, can se survive the hostile environment of Mars? Or will we succumb to the deadly planet and it's inhabitants.
In Episode 1 of this "Escape From Mars" flavor of co-op survival, we get our bearings after crashing down on the red planet and take on a local abandoned ice mine. In dire need of ice for oxygen, we're left with little choice. But the mine has defenses of it's own.

It has happened Andrew and Kanajashi have duo-ed together. It only be a matter of time now before being hired as a mercenary in a Splisitse series.

The intro is really good but what i wasn't expecting was a duo with kanajashi!!! WHAAAAT
When you use two gyros and set one to 66% strength and override it 0-0-0, and the other one set to 33% strength and leave it for manual control, it makes it almost impossible to tip over a rover.

If the rover gets very heavy, like you had it by the end of the video fully loaded with loot, then 3 gyros are needed. Set only one to override with 0-0-0 and 100%, and the other 2 to manual so you can use those gyros to help steer and balance over jumps.
You kind of need 2 settings depending on whether you're loaded or empty. Programmable block (and some simple coding) can store 2 exact settings you can add to the hotbar to switch.

I totally love that the game is much more like realistic survival with the mods. the wind in the UI and the mod u can pickup and transport things by hand are so nice.

this one allows for adjustment of strength and other attributes in it.
consolidate materials and resources to the Mine area and establish your base there for ready Ice access.
an advantage of being in the hills is unseen allowing you to strike convoys and disappear back into the hills.

Hi Andrew i love your videos. If posible can you make a series of a challenge, where you work as a team with a friend to build a base on every planet and build ships to attack enemy signals. Again love your videos ready for episode 2.

unrelated but, have you thought of doing a Real Orbits playthrough of SE? it is very interesting to play with (ships are difficult to make, but you don't need warp drives for long distance travel)

You actually can, to an extent, move Large Grid with the Improvised Engineering mod

@AndrewmanGaming - I have been planning to go through this scenario myself with a friend as a video series... hopefully people won't just think I am trying to copycat... spent a few months changing it to be a little different. I have a different idea of what the shuttle was before the crash.

Solar tracking towers are ez to make now and you can use the ai combat def by its self to increace turret ai range on your base you will make

This is the Escape From Mars scenario which accounts for most of the restrictions we have. Then we have a few more mods stacked on. I'll see if I can get a mod list and then put it in the description of the videos going forward.
How did they survive they didn’t the medbay cloned them after the crash
Did it? I don't know. Strangely I can't remember anything from before the crash...
@@AndrewmanGaming I suppose the medbay must of glitched out while uploading your memory files in the crash and so went with the last Uncorrupted file in it’s memory bank for the download into your new body
