    Ben the coin grader . You should go to PCGS or NGC and show them guys how to grade a coin . I have MS 62 and 63 Morgan and Peace dollar with great strikes and full luster, clean cheeks . Don’t know how they can be so damn hard on coins or what they see to not give it the 64 or 65

  • @jeffw1267
    @jeffw1267 4 роки тому +2

    I'm ultra-picky and even I think the first one merits the 64 that it got. It has a couple of reeding marks which keep it from a 65 but I'd be proud to own such a coin with its current grade. The eye appeal is fantastic. Some 64s look like they got caught in a weed whacker, but not this one.

    Beautiful coins. Seems like a niche market for graded gold coins and initial value of gold i found it hard for me to buy them slabbed. Besides i love holding a raw coin. 😊👍

    I was on point with the first. The second I agree a 100%. I don’t see the 63+, although I don’t know the mintage numbers. Like you said grading is essentially on an average. I would have definitely put the the last 2 under graded. I feel the 1927 is a 64 all day and the last 63 atleast. Awesome vid as always.

    • @bbartlow0307
      @bbartlow0307 2 роки тому +1

      Not sure what mintage has to do with condition. Otherwise agree.... you're a budding grader!

    • @saltcityhustlin3152
      @saltcityhustlin3152 2 роки тому

      @@bbartlow0307 I was referencing mintage because i feel sometimes they grade a bit more generous on low mintage examples. I don’t feel it’s always the case because it’s so subjective and you could crack something out 10 times and get 10 different grades. So I guess I feel it’s very relative. I’d live your input on that thought.

    The blue labelled one was the oldest? With the CAC? I would have thought the green labels are the oldest. The greens were generally at to under graded and the blue was at to overgraded.

    • @TheCoinGeek
      @TheCoinGeek  4 роки тому

      The smaller sized, "rattler" is the oldest. The blue is the newest. Sorry for the confusion.

    Say you would use one of these coins are they worth what is stated in the description. How would a clerk know its value? Like 20 dollar coin.. they would mistake it for 1 dollar not sure if you understand what I mean.
