Been using mine for a couple of months now and really like it. I have a multi band vertical and the MomoBeam connected through an antenna switch. The noise rejection and directivity is incredible. Well built and worth the money in my opinion
Here is a pro tip for you gents, cut a piece of aluminum pipe about 8-10" long it should be slight larger than your last section of mast. Put it in your U bolts and leave it, then you can just slide it over. You could use a pin if you plan on rotating it so it doesn't free float. Just a lot easier than messing with 4 wing nuts. -KL5NE
What mast is that? That's an important piece of info for folks looking to use this portable. There are very few masts that can hold up 10-15lbs in the field. Please advise. Looks like it was un-guyed also. Looks like a nice antenna, but a bit tough to put on the mast with one person.
It looks like a speaker stand with a couple of sleeved aluminum tubes secured by hose clamps. You could probably make one and this one might be homebrew.
I have trouble figuring out the gray area of control operator and call-sign ID's, what with repeaters, club stations and Field Day calls and Special Event calls. Can you legitimately use W1AW when the base station is transmitting the CW study transmissions? Is there a special certification for that, or can something like a club call be used at 2 different locations?
Ordered mine 9 days ago. It’s still sitting in a Postal facility in CT marked as received and pending acceptance. ARRL, PLEASE quit using US Postal Service!

Awesome activation and a great 10/6M antenna ...
OMG, I’ve found something I can’t live without! 😂😂😂
Hi Walt,
Wait, you need a non-wire antenna? 🙂 Stay safe my friend. 73 WJ3U
Ditto that, Walt! 😅
Worth it compared to others I have seen. I'll be a customer next year. Saving up.
Oh I am so getting this antenna 😀 Great video, thanks
Sweet. Y'all need to put W1AW on more POTA activations, don't let this be the only time.
We had a blast doing it!
It looks like a fine device with really good range.
Nicely done video! 73

Good video especially for us new to being on the air
Fantastic.
Impressive, impressive, impressive says it all - best 73 from W2FKN
I worked your station: well done and have fun!
Great job lads!
Nice!

It works with any lightweight mast. The antenna weighs 10.8 lbs.
@ARRLHQ Can you name one lightweight aluminum mast on the market? There are none that I'm aware of. Everything is fiberglass.
@@Kody10538 Chameleon has aluminum masts I take portable.

Good demonstration video, thank you...fm
Hi Steve,
Good to see you. Have missed you a Gherica doing POTA"s together. Nice working dual band yagi. Were you using a Yaesu FTdx10? 73 WJ3U
Nice POTA activation and demonstration of the antenna.

how about info on the tripod and mast ?
It works with any light tripod or mast. An inexpensive rotator may also be used.
Which tripod and mast were you using?
@@ARRLHQ sorry , that didn’t answer the question. In that video which tripod and mast were used?
I'm guessing they don't want to answer because they don't sell the mast in their store.
No choke needed?
Also for an ARRL video should've showed checking how it tuned on 6 and 10.

Amateur Radio goodness in action.😃😃😃😃😃
When was this activation? It’s not showing in W1AW POTA log.
What is the ideal height for this antenna to optimize propagation?
We had good luck with it up about 12 feet.
@@ARRLHQ That's great news, most directional antennas need to be up quite a bit higher. Other 6m antennas say to put it up at 35 feet minimum.
Showing SWR would have been a plus
