Update !!! After I posted my first comment, I went back and researched a little more, and I've read that the first thing is to check was the breakers, sometimes you lose 1 of the two lines without completely tripping your double breaker. I went and did it. And voila !!!! The dryer is working. I've spent plenty of time cleaning tons of lint while I had it taken apart, it took me 10 x more time than taking it apart and put back together. Thank you for sharing the video !!!
Awesome, thanks! My LG dryer blew the fuse 8 months ago ($10.00 part); and your video made it possible for me to replace it. Blew the fuse again last week, so I ordered a replacement heating element just in case the old one was causing the fuses to blow. Would have been nice if LG had provided an access panel - the job could be done in ~5 minutes instead of having to disassemble the dryer. You folks are the best!
This is a great video. In fact, I've used two of these guy's videos just in the last 2 months - once for the dryer, the other for the washer. In both cases, the videos have been instrumental in guiding me through. Thank you! From my experience today: 1. Have your phone or camera ready so you can take pictures of how things go together. 2. It takes about 2 hours, possibly more, depending on how dirty you find your dryer. 3. Have a vacuum cleaner, rags and possibly some soapy water or mild cleaner handy. 4. After you're done vacuuming the best you can, turn the vac to "blow" (if possible) and see how much more dirt you were about to keep in there. 5. Remove the little triangle retainers from the wheels and clean the spindle thoroughly. Mine were wrapped with hairballs from the pack of hairy monkeys I call, family. Don't forget the belt tensioner wheel. 6. Do NOT use any oil or grease on the spindle or wheels. Those will attract dirt and not help at all. Use a rag and clean them until they feel smooth. Reassemble the wheels and triangle retainers. 7. Label the heating unit with wire colors, part number (if missing) and installation date. This last one to see how long the Chinese replacements last. 8. Run one manual cycle of about 20 mins on medium heat to burn off the metallic smell off the heater coils
This helped my family in so many ways to be able to just order the part and be able to fix our dryer when we are on a budget from me being disabled from recovering from a major accident! Thank you so much! This has allowed me to be able to provide for my family better having it fixed and also not having to pay the costly initial call fee for a repairman! MY GO TO PLACE NOW!
Thank you so much!! I repaired my own dryer last night! I am so thrilled! A new heating element was about $60 online and I did it myself! Saved tons of cash and didn’t have to call for help. Thanks for a great video!!
I used this video to fix my dryer! I looked up the model for the heating element for my dryer. Bought it off amazon. It came but one of the fuses was different so i ordered the right fuse and put that one in place of the wrong one on the heating element. I followed your video step by step more or less because my dryer model is slightly different buy holy hell I fixed my dryer for $60!! I’ve never fixed something like this in my life….thank you thank you thank you soooooo much!!!
Thank you sooo very much for this video! Easily saved us a couple hundred dollars as well as sparing the hassle of trying to get hold a repair person over the long holiday weekend. We are forever grateful - dryer heating again as well as its interior hasn't been this clean in ages!
I just used this video and it worked. Only dealt with one problem which was when I bought the correct part, it came with a different looking thermal fuse. I check my current thermal fuse and it was still working correctly so I switched it out. Thanks for the help. I subscribed.
Thanks I used this to fix my dryer. It really was a nightmare down there with burnt lint after 7 years of use. I didn't figure out how to take out the roller and just kept it in and replaced the heater element by using a tight space screwdriver. Probably could have a used a ratchet as well. Anyhow thanks for this you guys have saved my family money yet again. Solo this took me two hours.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, your video was so helpful me and my three sons changed the heating element all by ourselves. We didn't have to pay a repair man with our Christmas money. Thank you and Merry Christmas!!! #turnip
This was great. We were going to buy a new unit but decided to give this a try and this video made that possible! I'm glad I took pictures, though, since my replacement unit looked a little different. I wouldn't have been able to fix my dryer without this video.
You're welcome! We are always happy to help. If you would like to give us a review on Google, we would much appreciate it: g.page/r/CcVUrahZNozMEBM/review We hope that you have a great day!

Great video. My dryer stopped heating two days ago. It will cost $100 just to have a repair technician diagnose the problem. While this deposit will be deducted from the ultimate cost of the repair, I'm sure the labor costs will not be cheap. This video gives me confidence I can do it myself. The RepairClinic.com web site helped me find the specific parts for my specific LG model and highlighted the 3 most probable part failures to cause my dryer to stop heating. RepairClinic.com is the best internet service web site I've ever encountered. This site blew my socks off. It even ships parts to Canada - way to go.
+Richard Wybou Check out our repair help for your model. www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Dryer/8-200-684324-/LG-Dryer-doesn-t-heat-DLE2514W?TLSID=1773
Got the part in the mail today and have viewed this video three times.. A needed tool for one of those non-mechanical types like me. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! My dryer was similar, so there were a few other challenges (it has the reservoir for the steam cycle), but this video was a huge help. She's up and running like new!
Dude! I've never attempted anything like this, but your video gave me the courage to try it. The nice close ups of each step made this a simple job. My wife thinks I'm amazing, thanks to you;0)
This was amazingly helpful, thank you. You did forget the portion of reattaching the control cables though. Glad I take pictures as I go! Not a huge deal to me but could be to someone else who doesn't identify and record as they go so just a note to my fellow self-repair men and women.
Thanks for the help, I actually needed to replace the igniter however I was able to figure out the missing info fairly easy after seeing how to take it all apart. You saved me hundreds and even rewatching parts it still took less than an hour
Well I watched your video, then did it my way which was much faster and just happened to be all I needed. So thanks for the information either way. Ill leave here what I needed done. Something was stuck in blower. You could see the end of the rag in the lint chute before the blower. Took off lint chute covering from inside the drum and used a long strong peice of metal (screwdriver and colosthe hanger) to move it out an inch then had to sneak my hand in there to get a better grip to get it out all the way.
Extra tip, the control panel wire, just squeeze the fitting and you can set the face and back panel aside instead of it being in your way. Also, if you have to remove the tumbler/belt, you'll be having one heck of a night getting it back together again. After you get the door off and set aside, if you're only replacing the heating element, don't bother with removing the belt or tumbler, just remove the two screws holding in the heating element, take a picture of what wires go where, disconnect, and place the new heating element in, replace screws, and connect the wires in their correct locations, and reverse install everything you took apart. That tumbler and belt crap is for the birds...
Our dryer puts out heat, but we're having to run the dryer twice if not three times to get them completely dry. Of course load differs, but for the most part, we have to run it twice on a normal load of clothes. Do you think replacing the heating element would help? I've already checked out all of the vents and they are clear.
Hey folks, what resistance should a brand new healthy heater measure (between red, blue and yellow terminals)? Manual and spec says 10/10/20 Ohm (and also says 18-22/18-22/9-11 Ohm in the same document), But brand new heater I got measures 20/20/40 Ohm.
I have a model DLE0442W Gas Dryer. I noticed the control panel is on the top, versus on the front. How will assembly and Disassembly differ? Will I have to do anything differntly?
We aren't entirely sure since we haven't worked with your particular model. Your best bet is to do a Google search of your model and look for a diagram. That should help you see any differences.
Awesome video, took me about 40 min to take it apart, swap the element, and put it back together, and only cost $40 shipped,, a far cry less then a service call or new dryer.
Hello, I have an LG electric dryer call TROMM, the dryer is a bout 7 year old and its slowly losing heat. Will the part #5301EL1001J is the correct one to buy? Thank you in advance for your help. Duke
This is a pretty broad problem. The best way to figure out what is going on is to use the repair help section of our website. You can find it here: www.RepairClinic.com/repairhelp It works best using your dryer's model number.
Hi guys, So i accidently bought the part -LG Electronics 5301EL1001G Dryer Heater Assembly- for my DLE5977B LG Tromm. My wires are all in front of the control panel and my heater assembly does not have the 3 prong high heat thermostat thing like your part does. after installing my dryer starting smoking. I cleaned all the lint out and my exhaust is fine. Any ideas? do i need to buy the different thermostat? would it be compatible with the part i have now? Sorry im at a loss and your videos have been super helpful. let me know if you can help. thank you!
***** That is the correct heater element assembly according to LG, but as you found out your high limit thermostat only has two terminals. It looks like you have to remove the one that comes with the heater and reuse your old high limit thermostat to install this part properly. You could also get it separately if you think it has failed. www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/High-Limit-Thermostat/6931EL3001E/1268363?TLSID=1773
***** both my old and new thermostats come with a 2 terminal thermostat. do you guys offer the 3 terminal thermostat? and would it work? im really sorry for all the questions. thanks for all the help
***** This assembly comes with the three terminal thermostat. Your model does not use a three terminal thermostat, it uses a two terminal thermostat. You will need to reuse the old two terminal thermostat or purchase a new one in order to install this assembly. Everything should hook up exactly like the original once you swap out that thermostat.
Bought the part from you guys (fast delivery, thanks!) and replaced the part. The video was great. A few things: 1. Still no heat. Why would that be? 2. I'm pretty sure that I need a new motor. I have to (and have had to for a while now) open the door, spin the drum while pressing in the button at the top, then pushing start. All that to make it start spinning. Otherwise, it just hums. 3. I found 2 small pewter-like pieces and 2 tiny springs below the motor. I took EVERYTHING apart and for the life of me couldn't figure out where they go. Any idea on what I need to do here? Would needing a new motor still affect the no heat issue? I'm okay with ordering and installing a new motor as a repair guy gave me a quote of 300 or so for less work. Sucks to be dealing with this right now, though.
One side of the 220 volt circuit goes through the motor switch. If the centrifugal switch on the motor is not working properly it can cause a no heat situation. I would replace the motor first and see if this also solves the no heat issue.
***** I already put in the heating element. I got the tax return and my wife and I figured we would fix our washer and dryer then sell it. After replacing the heating element I decided to just keep it (since there are not a lot of other parts to worry about. It will save me a lot. I'll slap the motor in anyway, as I'm sure that this is shot. Any idea what the 2 pewter/silver pieces and 2 tiny springs are for?
***** Got the motor and replaced it. The motor was defective nonetheless (it just hummed unless we reached in and turned it by hand to get it going). Still no heat. I also cleaned the contacts in the filter assembly but nothing. What else could it be? I've replaced a bit on this now, and cleaned this thing pretty well.
I had to end up returning my parts. They were extremely cool with the return process. I ended up replacing the motor and heating element, but never got heat from it at all and never figured it out. Had to end up buying a new dryer. ;-(
I realize this post is a couple years old, but I just had the same problem... mine turned out to be the High Limit Thermostat... some good troubleshooting techniques at this link... www.justanswer.com/appliance/9lid6-lg-tromm-dle5977w-works-does-not-heat-trying.html Cheers
Are you nuts!!! This is a rather lengthy thing. Truth be told new dryers especially my one year old LG dryer is a piece of garbage. It stopped heating a few months ago. I had a dryer that was installed in 1982 and it always worked and always dried in half the time. I guess you can't avoid buying crappy appliance since that's all they make now. Hopping mad this until does not work after all the money spent!!!!!
Update !!!

great video. part was 140 bucks. Probably saved me a couple hundred for repair guy

Great video - Dryer repaired - Happy family
My question is my dryer still works but not nearly as much heat as new is it the heating element ? I've cleaned all duct work
Wooowww!!! Thanks 🙏 for letting me know!!!
Is there a heating element in an LG dryer & can I replace it
Awesome video, took me about 40 min to take it apart, swap the element, and put it back together, and only cost $40 shipped,, a far cry less then a service call or new dryer.
I replaced the hi limited thermostat but forgot which wire (red/white) goes on which terminal. Does it make a difference?

Question mu drying machine turns on and blows air but doesnt heat, is the heating element or the thermal fuse??
I realize this post is a couple years old, but I just had the same problem... mine turned out to be the High Limit Thermostat... some good troubleshooting techniques at this link... www.justanswer.com/appliance/9lid6-lg-tromm-dle5977w-works-does-not-heat-trying.html
Cheers
Very clear, thank you.
so we have an LG dryer, when it's turned on it will only go for about 30 seconds then dies. do you know what it could be.
Bad control board or problems with the power source. Check the outlet and then replace the board if the source checks out.
Thank you!
thank you, the video was great. you rock
I replaced the heating element and the thermistor brand new, put everything back together but it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Sounds like something in the control panel.. 8 months late...
Great video, thank you!
+A.P. Singh Thanks.
Great crash course. Dryer is back up in running in less than a hour.
Nice!
Thank you.
Fixed it. Thank You
Great!
dans le mien sur le tableau bord il y a le mot np sa veut dire quoi np
what is the problem when the breakers strep
work for one minute and breaker strep
+Hector Candelas If a dryer is tripping a breaker then the heater element could be shorting to ground.
nice work............
Sterted with no heat. Replaced heating element assembly. Have heat out of exhaust, no heat inside dryer. What next?
+John Hintermeister That would mean you have heat in the dryer. There is only one air flow system in your average clothes dryer.
Why can't I just replace the thermal fuse on the heating element? That should be a lot cheaper if that is the reason it's not working.
Great video, all Samsung wanted to do is have me call someone for service.
We're happy to help!
No, thank you. Looking forward to having the parts on Friday.
get this man an impact drill lol..
says the inexperienced person
It's a Klein, though.
We changed everything new why no heating
Sweet
yeah fuck this. 2 minutes in and I'm calling someone to fix it
good video but that too many steps just for just that one problem , shit
I’ll never buy an LG if you have to go through all this to get to the element.
Don’t bi this garbage drier
Are you nuts!!! This is a rather lengthy thing. Truth be told new dryers especially my one year old LG dryer is a piece of garbage. It stopped heating a few months ago. I had a dryer that was installed in 1982 and it always worked and always dried in half the time. I guess you can't avoid buying crappy appliance since that's all they make now. Hopping mad this until does not work after all the money spent!!!!!
Great video, thank you.
Great video. Thanks so much!
