been waiting on his eclosion since his start with the Avs.They traded him not to get rid of him but to give the kid a chance.The talent,speed,vision,shot,passing its all there but what he really need is stability on a line for more than 2 games.Definitely the more engage guy on ice almost everytime he plays creating chances and many times being the 4th guy on a scoring play.

Great game, for Newhook and montembeault. As this young team gets more and more experience they will just get better over time. Most of all, hat's off for the coach, who has done his best to make the game fun for these guys.

@@trvman1 They are in complete rebuild mode, it's all part of their plan. So yeah, they are bad. But even then above quite a few teams that are supposed to be about the playoffs.
Still, both are extremely fun to watch (which is a "big deal" for actual fans of the sport + interested by the youngest teams in the league).
Mctavish is so underrated
I don't know that he is. He's a high draft pick. The guy has been a beast for Team Canada junior. Had a great rookie season. People are expecting him to be good and he is. I don't think his talent goes unoticed.

Montembeault really looking much more like a starter and more confidence.
The Habs are a young, dynamic team who, despite their many mistakes, have a bright future ahead of them. Let's not forget that they are playing without Kirby Dach. On the other hand, if they have to correct an unfortunate bad habit, it is definitely that of always losing their lead of 2 or 3 goals... Ok, they won tonight but darn it, they led by two goals before being caught again once in the 3rd period. The commentator explained that the Ducks had a habit of coming back into the game when they were behind. I wanted to add that this was good since the Habs have a habit of losing their lead... What do you know, I was almost right... Victory should not blind them to this unfortunate point.
After watching so many game highlights, I come to realize that it seems that part of the main announcers job is to use "what a save/goal" at least 5 or more times a game. They all do it. It is kind of funny they don't have better phrases.

Trade high on Gibson while you can. Montreal goalie was great but the difference was how bad Gibson was. He’s good for one bad goal a game and tonight was two.
He is better than a good number of goalies. But that last one he should have not sold himself on Evans so soon and maybe he gets over to his right to cut it off.
It was the turn overs that caused them to lose. Not much Gibson could do on 3 goals.
