Love how it immediately occurred to Monahan to collect the puck after Roy's 1st goal. A true leader, hope we can re-sign him. I firmly believe that he's largely responsible for this young group learning how to be a winner, in more ways than just playing well.
I LOVE the guy. In fact any team would. But it's impossible to have C of that caliber on an almost league minimum cap one year contract and not trading him before the TDL. No two ways about it : he will be traded, but after his playoff run (hope waterver team he ends up at wins the cup, seriously), and he'll be a UFA looking for his last big contract afterward, so hopefully he does well once traded. I doubt we'd be able to match the offer from other teams when it comes to salary (99% sure), but if he both love it here/believe in this rebuild and would sign for quite a big discount, I'd love to see him back. It would be the only path for him to be back here next season. ONE thing we might have for him over other teams' offer when UFA this summer might be contract length, something most teams won't want to be for very long... (i.e. some players that have an history of injuries + near the 30 y/o UFA point can sometimes favor contract length, so long term stability, over getting paid as much as possible but taking the risk of being a UFA again in 3 years + injured, with the risk of then bouncing back and forth all over the league with 1 years contracts; in the end it depends on many factors). But if he'd accept a long term contract here this summer after his playoff run, so for basically half price (e.g. like 3M), it'd be a low risk high reward move for us (IF we believe that he has a good chance to remain healthy for most of said contract), it'd be a huge opportunity for us. He would still be here during our window in a few years, and his brand of hockey is sustainable + does make any line better even if on the wing. It's almost impossible buuut : Him and Hughes know each other since way back when, and I think this organisation did everything to make him succeed despite major injuries and setbacks, so that he'd not only be able to be traded to a contender before becoming UFA, but also in the best possible position to get good offers from teams he want to be part of afterward, etc. 100% sure both men will keep in touch this summer, and yeah, if the family is happy here and he prefers stability over getting as wealthier as possible, it might be possible to get him back for a long time. Until then, I hope we get a good return for him that will translate into something tangible for the team soon (especially if we keep winning and do not end up picking top 5; I don't think the 6'4 forward will be available after that, even though he's still mostly ranked 6-8th. Heck i was so frustrated with New Jersey’s ownership and management especially Lou Lamoriello who everyone said he was the best GM in the 90s and 2000s cause he had my Devils dominating for 2 decades but we could’ve been way more skilled if they weren’t being so damn cheap and using the salary cap as an excuse! But all the money that was being made from all that TV time from being such a good team for so long and all that money generated from going to 5 Cup finals in 17 years should’ve had the Devils being a scarier team and winning more than 3 Cups! We should’ve been one of the best dynasties ever but the excuse was always that we’re a small market team and that we’re going in debt but had $100 million to give Kovalchuk, money that we’re still paying the guy smh and he hasn’t been on the team in over decade smh!

Montembault keeps improving! Still think jackeye should be up here especially against teams like Florida. We need a big 6'5" defense for the playoffs.Obviously we finally have a professional gm and president who are ( shockingly ) ENGLISH!! Hope Moron racist Legault doesnt find out.

if you see the name marry-lynn that likes the video its my
The Devils are so overrated. They only rely on the power play and have horrible goaltending and defense. They got too cocky last season and are gonna miss the playoffs this year.
BECAUSE THEY ARE BAD!!!
They are missing 4 of their starters. Not to mention 1 of them is Jack Hughes who is better than any other forward on the ice tonight for both teams...you guys are morons.
Half of their roster is injured…
@@mayo1273 that's no excuse, and no it's not. They're only missing Hughes, Hamilton, and Siegenthalter. If you're telling me the devils only rely on hughes to win games, that doesn't make you a contender. the rangers were missing Kakko, Chytil, and Mika for some time also. Good teams find ways to win.
@@p00l95 They are missing Palat and Brednan Smith as well.
What do the Rangers have to do with this ? Are you still mad the Devils beat you guys last year ? All of your comments on this channel are you bashing the Devils...you seem like a loser in real life bro
the human goalie screener & zamboni gave up nj first goalie... y would marty st louie put that slow clydesdale on the ice on the penalty kill ??????
montambault is much better than was Price! the first is 3M the second is 10M watching the game on t.v. for half is 8 years contract.
Just stop watching hockey
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Price is going to the Hall of Fame and he played with a bum knee for the major part of the second half of his career. You’re allowed not to like the guy but not to the point of writing stuff like you do. Then you become stupid.
Wow.
Lets calm down buddy, Monty is amazing but Price to me is the best goalie of his generation
@@macrost8935for real.
canadiens players need to relearn how to put the puck in the net lollllll its been so long
why wouldnt you show the penalty that resulted in 2 goals? think editor think.
Montembeault should play using a snow scrapper as a stick, maybe then he could stop a puck.
Yup,this pretty much sums up the Devils season.Fall behind, fight back and give it up late.Bad defense as usual, lack of imagination on offense and the feeling bad about things and no goals.Daws again did a good job,but this is what it is.L
