Wow, Cy sounds and looks great here. Somehow when we were making and consuming the music of the 80's, it just never occurred to us that we'd ever be playing it as old men. But if you close your eyes, you can't hear any age.
This song can apply to a lot of things depending on how you think of it. If you really study psychology and put a few years into the reading, the lyrics to this song start to make a lot of sense. When you find out what’s motivating the people in your society unconsciously your instinct is to hide from everyone, but you also realize - like Cy sings, there’s no place to hide anymore. You start to look into what makes people tick and you see the edge - you look = you fall. No place to hide. The only real option in my experience is to survive it and work hard to make yourself stronger in every way. While you see the dark side to life, it teaches you where the light really is if you’re paying attention, and you can develop the part of yourself that creates a better world out of the mess.
A really interesting & highly-perceptive comment!👍👍 I will throw in that, for some people, this is where their moral/ethical/spiritual framework begins to be challenged, i.e. does one hang on to their beliefs, or does one change who they are in light of other's reality? For me, it has been my faith, philosophical background & scientific training that has enabled me to see people as they really are....warts & all....beauty & more....unique & precious....dangerous & threatening.....and still continue to maintain grace & patience towards others & stand firm in how my journey has defined, in light of it all, my sense of purpose & my value as one of 7+ billion souls.
@@derekbaker3279 - Exactly. Faith is a metaphor processor that should open us up to the realization of the self in others. Add science to that and everything can be related at subatomic levels - but there’s a catch: intention. Not everyone delights in the reciprocal - on the contrary, some delight in destruction. Knowing this part of reality involves a recognition of it in ourselves, which can be so traumatic it can be lethal. I still have moments where I’m in awe that I made it this far - that I’m still alive. I’m sure you know what I mean. Thank you for your reply - it takes one to know one.
These guys helped make my teen years unforgettable! Glad they are still keeping their songs alive
Same here. Fixx music got me through those turbulent teen years!

That's Dann K. Brown. Spelling please.
Stop trying to be so anal, please. Besides, you're the one that spelled it wrong.
Wrong. It is spelled Dann. Ask him.
who cares besides you. you're making a big deal out of nothing. The Fixx website has it spelled with just 1 N so go tell them to fix it, lol.
@@rockmusicvideoreviewer896 - you care. because you replied.
@@bobgomez9481 I don't care at all how OP spelled it. I commented because I thought it was funny how you anal you are by making a big deal about it.
