The kickstarter should be much tighter than that. Most likely missing the ball bearing that sits in a hole and allows the lever to move along a grove when its swung out and in. The ball bearing will seat it into place when its fully open or closed. i would look into getting a new kickstarter shaft or the entire assembly all together. You wouldn't want that thing to swing out on you as you're riding.
I would also suggest getting a 97-99 CR250 intake boot on the reed side of the carb. Those 98-99 125's had a massive restriction. The 250 boot will give you a lot more power.

you’re correct and that will be addressed in episode 2. is the 250 boot just larger in diameter? meaning i can still use the cr125 reeds? thanks for the tips man

Connection between pipe and silencer just needs to be resealed. That’s 2 stroke oil, not carbon 😊 it sounds like your carb needs to be cleaned. You have a Keihin PJ 36mm carb on that bike, they’re difficult to jet. You need to put a 38mm kiehin pwk airstriker on it, use a jd jet kit and shim the Governor 3mm… the video to do that is in my page. Compression test that bike, you can rent a compression tester at Auto Zone. You’ll be rippin asap.

yeah ik it’s 2 stroke oil i just called it carbon idk why 😂 but i did clean the carb, one time a quick clean second time i took it all apart. i re-jetted but still running rich. i definitely want to compression test it because it’s really easy to kick over but still starts and runs good. wouldn’t surprise me if it was low on compression though. if i do swap over i’ll use your video, thanks for the tips man!

@@theflipflopfabshop Yeah, 125s are easy to kick. I have a fresh motor on my 97 cr125 and its marginally harder to kick than when it was totally worn out. N3CG is the needle to use if you dont want to spend the money on a jet kit. clip position 4, 45 pilot and 185 main jet with 2 turns out is the setting I am using and I am sitting at 2000 feet in the PNW. Good luck, friend!

@@theflipflopfabshop One other thing I have started using with that PWK is a N3CG needle from a YZ250. Got it on 3rd clip, 185 main jet and 45 pilot 2.25 turns out. I am at 2000 feet. Rips like hell.
