That is a crazy applicable situation. People drink because it makes them feel better about theemself and their problems. It runs in the family and he is drinking for the same reason his dad did, it makes you feel better and like you have more power over your life.
Angela was mat for him. Most Girls if you push them like that literally they are gone. She kept her heart and knew that wasn't Shawn and forgave and went back to him when he was sober. She was a real one.

I have a deep, philosophical question about redemption. 2:55 considering that Shawn did that, to his own girlfriend, how is it that he is redeemed later? Personally, I feel that once you've laid a hand on your girlfriend or wife, you are officially unforgivable and that the aura of shame/badness _stays_ on you (so to speak).
In some aspects you're right. I always advocate for never putting your hands on a woman regardless if you're angry or otherwise. However the guy was a kid and only did it because he was drunk. I'm not saying that drunk people get a pass to be abusive but hopefully that was a one time thing. On his girlfriend's part, sometimes when women are in that honeymoon phase of a relationship, they will excuse some clear red flags and I do feel like she was too quick to forgive him. But i won't say that once you hit someone, you're forever a violent person. People can change and grow
If you're drinking alone then none of that would've happened and that's my opinion. Because I like drinking alone too and when I'm done drinking then I will passout asleep and wake up later like at 2pm and keep on drinking all day everyday.
This is also a very bad tactic. The way they corner him and everything comes to light. If anything it should have just been him and his brother talking about what they both went through and how they're both getting by it. But instead he gets The spotlight put on him with nothing but (judgment)
