+1 on this comment. A legend, indeed 😎 I am planning to follow this same plan. I have 2 Detolfs and one Besta TV Unit / Cabinet with clear glass doors. Thank you so much again for creating this video. Greatly appreciate it!
I have a very similar setup, placing 5 Detolfs on 2 Bestas. I reinforced my Bestas using 2X2 studs and used bolts to basically make one long Besta and keep them from shifting. I decided to construct supporting frames on the inside of the Bestas for peace of mind because I've seen pictures of Detolf bowing downward in the middle and even collapsing from the weight of Detolfs on top. The only negative thing is that I had to use solid doors to keep the support framing hidden inside the Bestas. I really like the windowed doors you used on your Bestas. The use of that space to display more collectibles looks Amazing! I really hope you don't experience any issues with too much weight on your Besta, your entire setup looks Great! Awesome HotToys Collection!!
@@kilaninani Sure, I used 2X2 and L Brackets to make the support structure. In each cabinet I placed a 2X2 in each corner attached to upper support beams in front and back. I also placed support beams in the center. So each cabinet has a total of 6 support beams. 3 in back and three in front. On top of the beams goes the upper beams that run the length of each cabinet and everything is attached with L brackets to the inside of the cabinet and all the support beams as well. The supplies are pretty inexpensive is it’s pretty easy to do, it’s just a bit tedious because it’s time consuming. I have 5 Detolfs on top of two Besta cabinets, each Detolf has a heavy 1/4 polystone statue on the bottom. It’s been at least 3 years and I haven’t had any warping whatsoever. I brought 15 of these some time ago. Most of my action figures are my own customs which usually light up on their own. They look good without the extra lights to show them. Took a lot of floor space so sadly I did sell 10 of them.
Nice touch, I have seen people stick the LED directly onto the glass surface or use some kind of angle panel/channel to hide the LED. This is the first i ahve seen using the thin metal rod to stick the LED, I think this is the simplest way and I might do that on mine.
How do you connect the extra strip going round the back at the bottom if you cut it? Is there a particular connector that I need to join the connections between that and the light going around the front rectangular face edge? Thanks!
"concrete floor" the fact that your floor is concrete does not really play any part in the risk of the unit tipping over, it's more so if you have a kid and they open the door(s) and pull it down on themselves.
