I live here too. This neighborhood is just south of the fairgrounds between San Pedro and Louisiana. What a shame.

No matter what you do or give these homeless it will not change anything. All you are doing is helping them get their drugs. If they can afford 300 up to 500 dollars a day habbits, then they can afford not to be homeless. You think your helping them by giving them things your just making it easier for them to pay for their drugs. In reality you are creating the problem and the drug addicts now and in the future. That's why I moved to Rio Rancho

The solution literally exists. Build multiple shelters that meet capacity and all the problems of not being able to enforce the laws aginst homeless encmpments go away immediately! The city is obviously flushed with oil money cash to afford nice projects around the city so its mind-boggling how there is such a lack of action to address homelessness. Relying on one gateway is ridiculous when there is an obvious need for multiple gateway centers in the city.

The issue is the nimbys will vote that down. The trick is to disenfranchise them. How many of them have illegal airB&B's, all of em. How many are committing felony tax evasion on those properties. All of 'em.
