Lived about 40 miles from Denver, and left Colorado a few years ago. Best decision that I made in recent years. What is laughable is that when this city, a few years ago, put legalizing a synthetic mushroom on the ballot, many people in "the great city of Denver" didn't seem too alarmed. Drugs have ruined Denver, and Denver is done! Couldn't happen to a bunch of kinder, gentler Liberals. What the HELL did this city expect? Great to see the Broncos still struggling, as well.
It all boils down to the open border.

@@mrvwbug4423Don't worry their on the way.
The flaw with housing units is that they're day-camp for adults, mostly people with severe behavioral and addiction issues. And the staffing for the "wrap-around services" is suspect as the turn-over for those jobs is very high. Plus those services are competing for trained people against hospitals, schools, jails, the police, and other community resources. How is it the city keeps spending more and more $$ and the situation gets worse and worse?
Problems, not "issues."
@marioacevedo5077 asks: how is it that more and more money gets spent on attempts to solve the homelessness problem yet the problem continues to get worse? Mr. Acevedo, are you asking this question rhetorically or do you really want an answer? Because if so, then follow the money. Denver is the same as all other cities in America in this respect. Billions of dollars are allocated on the state and federal level annually to solve the homeless problem, but not one dime of this money is ever actually given to the homeless people themselves. Instead, it gets siphoned off into the fat paychecks of the innumerable bureaucratic functionaries who administer the programs. Employees of public agencies or private NGO's, doesn't matter; they are all on the gravy train and it's in their best interest to see to it that the problem is never really solved, because then they'd be out of a job and living in a tent under the freeway overpass...

by the time you put the one thousand in housing twice that many will take their place.Without dealing with the drug addiction problem this will continue to be a giant enabling operation. Also thanks to Mr. Bumbles allowing people to cross the border faster than housing can be built will continue to hinder the aid of those on the street(along with driving up rent potentially putting more on the streets)
