Real friends
Ngl, the only reason I even watched the new movie was because of the human tech
fr
They are nice in the first movie, but showing the Venture Star dropping payload on land was absurd. That ship has no structure to do that and it would ruin half the world in radiation, what was Cameron even thinking?
@@bearship9 I imagine he was thinking it would look rad as hell
@@bearship9 the ship is meant to witihstan atleast 1.5g during its acceleration and deceleration phases. Pandora has less gravity on earth so its entirely plausible for it to be able to slowly descend and ascend again.
same
A Safe Galaxy is a Human Galaxy.
They're quite primitive for 2150s earth, I doubt they would be able to even reach another star beyond alpha centauri
@@_martian101 As if it's likely we'll ever become this advanced by that year. We could regress for all you know.
@@controlman7490 but we will, if we haven't start any world war 3 before then, I'm sure AI Will be insanely smart and dominating the world at that time, and the concept of using current military technology such as heli and gun even human army is just too ridiculous
@@_martian101It's more likely we don't. The speed required to reach another star within a reasonable amount of time would require light speed travel or something close to it. That kind of tech would probably take centuries if not millennia to accomplish. And again that's if humans don't end up destroying ourselves before we create something that advanced.
@@controlman7490 we as human definitely won't, but our robots will, human civilization in the avatar is just abnormally too manual, the production of antimatter propulsion system alone would required insane amount of calculation and simulation, they definitely use quantum computers to develop the first ISV and that much of power can easily be used to train AI model to become smarter than human, and in the hand of AI the development from the first ISV in 2060s to its latest model in 2150s won't take a century but rather just a decade or less, the world beyond 2100 is very far way future and I don't believe their way of life would be anything we can imagine.
Let's not forget that they are a literal MINING COMPANY..........imagine if they sent in actual marines-
Dude. Did you forget they HIRED marines directly out of the armed forces for their security detail? The forces in Avatar 2 is literally an even larger military presence than the first one. The first movie was company first, military second. The second was a Military occupation campaign with some resource mining on the side.
@@smugreptile6695 wasnt it not a company in the first movie but a governmental body or something
@@asaultikk Its the largest Non Government power on Earth. Which is why they are able to hire actual military personnel. They have as much political and purchasing power as an actual government, with out all the voting and red tape.
@@smugreptile6695 That makes no sense. Avatar makes sense when Unobtanium is non essential and there's peace protestors on Earth blockading RDA offices. If Unobtanium is neccesary for human existence, then the first step is terraformation with a hint of orbital bombardment to pacify the area (as in pacify it off the damn map).
We as a species have overthrown governments for cheaper bananas and when it's human existence at stake we suddenly forget we invented industrial murder? The RDA as depicted is humanity with the kiddie gloves firmly ON.
Yes, I mean it.
We're not that different from humanity 100 or 200 years ago.
We can just afford to be a lot nicer these days. We can afford to talk things out. We can afford to be patient.
Mining Company?
In the Deep reaches of space?
Mining for Rocks?
That will change everything at a Galactic level?!
Lot's of people being like "Maybe we'll finally see the RDA win"... they already have. 10 transports arrived, visually confirmed 3 landed. Each cleared a zone with their engine plumes to build an entire city and still have room to spare. They have dedicated ground, air, and sea facilities in at least one of these cities. They have rail lines between their city and their mines, and increased military presence and improved military hardware. Hell, a single CIVILIAN whaling craft with a contingent of marines almost entirely wiped out the water-based Nav'i. It took plot armour, numerous deaths, and a giant sentient whale going against its species code of non-violence in order to win.
Humanity has already won. They're just fighting insurgents at this point.
and then scenario comes in "uh oh hooman bad hooman lose becuz its all friendship and rainbows"
Don't underestimate Hollywood writing, white hippy protagonist always wins.
@@mm-qq7bb then you just have to shove black intersex oppressed women for assured victory
But.. but... they dont have the Power of Friendship...
@@LordLazy Or perhaps, the power of MaNy!
Remember that Navi has no senile or paraplegic population. What do they do with those members of society, hmmm?
clone them and dispose of the remaning body?
I guess the Que could heal the brain, but paraplegic I guess there's a mercy killing? (as referenced in Jake mercifully dispatching Tsyutey in a deleted scene after he lost his que) You should ask JC about such things, even though he makes for the worse Navi someone who has been married and divorce so many times when his native people mate for life
I thought they plug them into the tree then bury the body.
Navi dont have cloning tech
They don't have advanced medicine smartass
Show the bastards why only Humanity was destined to rule the stars
Well based on this movie, humanity don't rule, they destroy
@@_martian101 well shame because Cameron is an environmentalist. If this came from other director then it would be a different story
@@doobadood if this came from other directors there's a high chance we'll only get a generic evil alien civilization story, na'vi is just unique and never seen before, they're like our traditional tribes but as a whole planet, and their planet is frikin beautiful, that's why the movie is succeeded
Only Man was made in God's image, and its about time the Na'vi learned that

Interesting to note: those starships used by the RDA run on antimatter, which means they have the technology for antimatter weapons. A few kilograms of the stuff could level continents. So the only reason the Na’vi are “winning” their little skirmishes is because Humans are playing nice.
@@bricc9964 they could legit just wipe out the Navi with a landing burn from the Venture Star
I remember reading an artbook saying that while the RDA can use conventional weapons to an extant they are outright banned from using WMD's on Pandora by the earths governments.
It also mentions how most of the RDA military equipment is antique compared to what actual militaries field things like fighters that use nanomachines to change wing geometry.
The reason "Unobtanium" was so important was because its used in the manufacture of superconductors required for interstellar flight. Something they need a ton of in order to make enough ships for an exodus from a dying earth.
isn't it bc Unobtanium is a limiting factor for the production of antimatter based power generation tech. which is why RDA is on pandora to begin with & if they win then Humans become a multiplanetary species, uplifted from their dying world by the Inovation?
@@happyjohn354 why not address the dying world question? Doesn't that ironically vindicate all the "humans are the bad guys!" team?
I believe the problen with the antimatter is that you can't control it when you release the energy. My grandpa used to work on the Tsar Bomb project as a junior science specialist, and they had the abiloty to make it x5 times stronger, but the consequences would have been unpredictable. I thing the antimatter can destroy the whole planet and leave humans without the resources.

Remember, there are around 500, million Navii. There are 20 billion humans. If coexistence cannot occur and resource deprivation will lead to death on even the scale of a fraction of a percent of the human population, the humans have the moral highground. They came to trade. They came willing to bargain. They even built artificial bodies in the attempt, but the Navii said no. They chose their fate.
When diplomacy hits a brick wall, might makes right.
For real though, imagine being hunter gatherers and saying no to literal star people when they promise the world in exchange for a few mines being built.
Imagine if the Navi ever become space farers, a selfish species set loose on the galaxy.

Pandora has vast amounts of plant life, which leaves a significant possibility for fosil fuels such as coal, neutral gas, and OIL to be found. It is simply an issue of locating them and at the tech level of the RDA, fossil fuels are less useful

RAHHH HUMANITY!!!

I'm just saying, without naavi plot armor, the RDA could take over Pandora in an afternoon.
I salute James Cameron for making a sci fi series that is as inspirational as Star Trek was back in its day with his Hard Science ISVs! That yes Humanity will hopefully become a two system species in the next 100 years!
All the engineering of these aircraft and heavy machinery is just pure eyegasm
A prime example of humanities's hunger/excitement for a common foe.

I mean yea, its fun to see a 10ft tall blue person fire a bow and arrow at the bad guys, and im glad jake had adapted guns to his family. Or swimming with a giant whale. But after awhile im like, can i please see more of the quad dragon gunship, or the ISV's (A.w.o.t.w. answered my wishes with that intro, chefs kiss on that deorbit burn) Cause thats some beautiful engineered machinery thats "built by humans" and maybe its the engineer in me but i just love how realistic the tec looks, it feels like we could actually build something like that vs star trek/wars or any other alien movie spaceship.
Yeah, the military hardware designs are so grounded, they almost seem like something we could produce in a couple of decades from now

When you colonize a planet in Stellaris
Humanity comes first
HUMANITY FIRST
Man if Jake didn't betray humanity, the general would've given him the Na'Vi princess as a trophy
Humanity steps over what exists. The love I have for humanity is indescribable. Despite our flaws and shortcomings the survival of our future generations is worth fighting for. 🌎 🚀 💫
Humanity First. God has laid out the stars, planets, and galaxies for us to conquer like it’s Christmas morning
We showed up to their planet. We didn’t try to enslave them or subjugate them, all we want to do is mine a rare resource that we need for our society to survive. We offer them our technology, our medicine, we teach them our language. They could helped us find better ways to mine the resource with minimal impact to their planet. They refused and fought back, and somehow we’re the bad guys.
The RDA was the best part about the movie, more or less the most badass depiction of humanity there is.
I LOVE HUMANITY, I LOVE THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, I LOVE CONQUERING THE UNIVERSE!!! GRAAAAAAAH

When I'm in a making humanity look good competition and my opponent is James Cameron trying to make them look bad:
Humanity may be the villain, but you guys won't let me lie, that they have style B)
Humanity are the heros. Jake turned traitor, the Na'vi burned the school they built to teach them english and then attacked the RDA constantly. The RDA is mining a super-conductor that could solve the energy and climate crisis on earth.

Also, RDA is just a Private Military Company, so they wouldn't have access to the truly egregious stuff regular armies have. This is how it feels to enter war in stelaris when you set tech cost to 0.75
Avatar is my favourite franchise exactly because both the factions are cool and both the factions can be considered the “good guys”.
You cn't really consider the RDA good guys, after all they are a corporation that as of now had only exploits for rich people (Unobtanium and the inmortality thingy) SUPPOSEDLY they are also looking for a new home for Humans as Earth is dying, but let's be real do you think they are just going to move everyone inclufing poor people to Pandora?
Also the whole killing the natives and not respecting the local Fauna and Flora despite technically knowing its way more sentient than usual
Especially since they mentioned in Way of Water that Earth is toast. Humanity is now also in a fight for survival and Pandora is their only option.
Exactly. The humans aren't really evil and the navi aren't really good, and both of their motives are completely valid
@@gc3k the Navi aren't really good? They are not saints but their motives are fair, it's their home, and the whole "humanity needs a new planet" sure is a good excuse, but as of now the RDA have done what? Exploit unobtanium veins and hunt sentient whales for some inmortality serum, both things they said are priced in the billions, they are doing dogshit to help humanity, at most if they are really colonizing can you guess who'll be going to Pandora? Rich people, politicians anyone with power, they are not trying to save humanity, and their methods are not even morally questionable they are outright evil, in the first one they pretended to want to try negotiations but they already knew the aliens wouldn't give their ancestral home for them to mine the resources under it, would you give your hometown or country if aliens came by and asked you pretty please because they need to mine some expensive stuff under it? Humans aren't evil I but the RDA sure is
@@tatepultro I find it extremely unlikely that Pandora is their only option. It might be the best option on paper, but add in the cost of the planet itself sic'ing the flora and fauna on humanity and its far more likely they will be setting up in another location if the movie was being sensible. And the RDA can only be considered "good" in the broadest of terms through the eyes of humanity trying to survive. In pretty much every other aspect they are the baddies here.
Humanity must prevail at all costs.
