    Hey sistahs!!
    I’ve been having this long time itch to texlax my natural hair. I wanted looser curls and increased day to day manageability. My 5 year natural hair journey taught me so much about my hair and how to care for it that I know I’ll be successful on this new journey that I’m embarking on. I’ll likely do a Q&A video in the future if you want to know more about why I decided to do this etc. I hope you’ll continue to support me on this so called “hair journey” and until the next vid!
    Check out the video and as always, leave your evidence and thoughts ▼▼▼▼
    XOXO,
    Ng

    I have 4c hair too and have been natural for 10 years...I'm Over it!!! Manageability being the biggest issue. Everything takes to darn long. Been contemplating texlaxing for a year. I'm sold now! Your hair is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!!😊

      Aren't you nervous that it won't look the same way tho? Don't you think your hair may look different or even become straight?

      I texlaxed my 4c hair after 4 years being natural and it's really been a God send. My hair texture looks the same (everyone still thinks I'm natural lol) but my curl pattern is stretched out and I have significantly less tangling. I did a lot of research before taking the plunge but I have no regrets.

      I did the same thing yesterday, I was a 4c and doing my hair took FOREVER I literally hated it and had enough so I texlaxed it. Its been the best decision I have ever made it looks natural but just more manageable.

    How smart was this, y'all?!?!?!?! I swear this makes the most sense: to use shed hair for the test run and to use two relaxer mixes to see how it would react to your hair!!!!! SMARTY PANTS!!!!!!!! : ) I've been wanting to texlax my hair for a while and now I know exactly how I should go about it. Thank you soooo much! xo- from NYC

    So you flat iron after tex laxing? 🤔Also as I watch more videos on tex laxed hair I'm starting to think that a lot of people on here are actually Tex laxed and saying they're all natural!! 🙄The way your hair hung after the tex laxing is how all the hair looks in these videos!! And I'm going crazy 🙃trying to figure out why my hair isn't hanging!! My hair never hangs when wet!! 😂I'll be 4 years natural next month, never flat ironed or tex laxed...

    • @NGsEvidence
      @NGsEvidence  9 років тому +2

      Tai Banks Hey Tai! Yes I'm all about practice makes perfect and I didnt want my hair to be the "tester" lol. I used a lye relaxer which is harsher on the scalp than no-lye, but more gentle on the hair. So I made sure my sister BASED my scalp really well with vaseline and I was also starting on dirty hair. Towards the end of the 10mins I started to feel some tingling, ie the I could tell I had a relaxer on my hair vs the feeling of only conditioner. But I did not feel any burning if that makes sense. No burns at all! Hope this helps 😀

      Nothing genius about it. The instructions in all texturizers and relaxers tells u to do that. ALWAYS been that way. It also tells u the CORRECT way to comb thru your coils to loosen yr texture. Nothing new.

    Trust and believe I am not trying to be critical when I say the following:
    The term “texlax” to me is just covering a truth....just say that “I got a perm that I didn't let sit for that long”. Perming is perming, tbh.
    I thought that we were moving forward as natural sistas, but then I see this. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
    Good Lord...there is NOTHING wrong with our hair...no matter how kinky it is. Like someone else said, I'd rather just straighten it, not do all of this....
    Then you have to keep it up, like a perm...cause it is well, a perm, you know?
    But I will say this...if she's happy, fine. But me, nah, I'm not doing this.

    See, these videos are so informative. I've got 4a in the front and my crown, 3c in the back right and left. 2a in the back center and 4b on the sides. so bascially I need to apply the texturizer to the 4b and 4a spots first because I don't want my already loose curls to go straight.

    I liked the texlaxed result, but i felt the hairdresser trimmed off too much hair, and you were a five year natural. Hair relaxers tend to damage hair long run, in two to five years the damage usually evident. Even if you wash and condition the hair on a regular basis, the damage is there, but then there is a small chance that you might be one of the few people that can take hair relaxers. So i hope you success with your relaxed hair. (If hair relaxers manufacturers could make relaxers that were less damaging on afro-american hair i would texlax my hair too.)

    You get a protein treatment and deep conditioner the same day you texlaxed? Seems like alot of different products in one day, not sure if you should have all of those services in one day but I'm not a hairstylist.

    Does it still keep its wavy/curly pattern when it's wet?
    So I guess this method is basically a milder version of a relaxer..so is it the same as someone applying a relaxer two or three times a year??? 🤔🤔
    Nice results tho.

    why does it keep some hair curly and make some hair straight?? I'm so nervous to get a texturizer because I don't want straight hair I want loose curly hair. should I do it or not?

    • @mialeonard1838
      @mialeonard1838 8 років тому

      it made my hair curly i literally left it on for 5 min. This was back in Feb. my hair now is getting really kinky so i might do it this weekend. i say the best thing to do is watch how your hair looks once you put it on. It literally transforms right in front of you.

    I texturized my hair with A "just for me" texturized and I will say it didn't take or achieve the looser look I was going for , its kinda the same.
    I'm thinking about doing this same procedure but wondering if I should leave in for maybe 7 to 8 mins

    • @NGsEvidence
      @NGsEvidence  9 років тому +1

      +Keya Keyz The already made texturizers are very weak and need to be left in the hair longer. I didn't have any experience using texturizers, and think I was more experienced using relaxers from before I went natural, which is why I decided to use a relaxer instead. Before you give it a try again, do what I did and save some strands of your hair, apply the relaxer or texturizer to the shed hairs, and see what results you like best. Lemme know how it goes!

    It will work. I use to make a mixture of olive oil and conditioner to taxlax my hair. I however figured it out to late as when I started my hair was already too damaged so I decided to go natural.

      +Kay Bee I've only texlaxed once time since this video, and this was about 2 weeks ago, so I;ll say every 6 months. Minimal heat in btwn treaments. My hair is normally in wigs, so I keep my hair braided underneath.
