    I initially started with Freeforms but then decided to get conventional locs
    Got them locced on the 7th of Sept 2024 (this month)
    My loctician gave me instant starter locs with the crotchet method cause, like I said, I started with Freeforms and most of my hair was already locced in unique ways and was long.
    I haven’t really experienced much shrinkage as of yet but I’ll keep you posted.
    Also, I think you have a lovely smile, the type that can make a person’s day better ❤

    Hi Lilian, thanks for all your videos and for your sweet approach in all your videos. I started my locs in Oct 2020. My locs were started using neither comb coils nor crotchet, it wasn’t palm rolling either but by following the natural ‘grouping’ or formation of my hair strands. The loctician used a foam and hair net rubbing my hair….. what is this called?
    Anyways my has grown quite significantly but I observed that my locs experience growth ‘spurts’. For many months it feels like the hair is not growing then suddenly it adds fairly significant length and then pauses again for the next phase…. I don’t understand it but that’s what I have observed.
    Anyway, thanks again
    NB: I actually preferred my locs when they were shorter 😅 easier to style!

      You're welcome, dear. Thank you so much for your support.🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍 I guess you can call it foam locs. Some people still group it as a form of freeform locs but it is not as popular as a starter loc method because it is mostly done by people starting with very short hair.
      Having periods of growth spurts is also normal. Most times it seems like nothing is happening then all of a sudden, it looks significantly longer. I've had a few of those myself.❤️❤️❤️

    😂 my locs grow everyday oooo. I think it's because of my home made aloe vera water mist I use everyday.
    And for the frizzy stage de3 I've embraced it throughout my one year journey.❤ Lilian I love my locs and its journey

      @@jnalocscommunity I'm so glad that you find my tips helpful. Thank you so much for your support.🤗🤗🤗 You can trim the ends of your locs, I trim mine about once a year but only the ones that don't look the way I want them to. I think loose/curly ends are cute though, especially on microlocks but can definitely trim them if you want more blunt ends.❤️❤️❤️

    This might sound unbelievable but I started mine 4 months ago and they have already reached the length of my loose natiral hair(I didn't have long hair, around 10cm long, shrinkage up to 50-60%). Just left my locs completely alone. Only washed, let air dry, retwist every 2 months and they have reached the loose length i started with

      @@khanya6919 Yay! That's lovely.🤗🤗😍😍😍 It is faster to get to the length you started with if you start with short hair. This is why I always advise people to start instead of waiting for their loose hair to get longer before starting their locs.❤️❤️❤️

    Has your locs changed colour?

    • @LilianOkibe
      @LilianOkibe  Місяць тому +2

      @@AbenaW-e7c To be honest, I don't know. It doesn't look like it has changed colour when I look in the mirror or take pictures/videos with my phone or tablet. I've also asked people in real life and they say that it looks black. However, it does look like it has a brownish hue when I film for UA-cam with my digital camera. I'm not sure if it's the lighting, the camera deceiving me or if the colour change is so subtle that only the camera can pick it up.❤️❤️❤️
